EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis): In a news piece first published today by Sotiris Tzoumas of Exapsalmos.gr, we learned that AB Elpidophoros was elected as Vice President of the National Council of Churches (link here).  The same announcement was made on the NCC website (link here – and please see below).  Elpidophoros is the only man among the top five officers, as shown in the photos below – the rest are women hierarchs. This fact alone should raise a lot of eyebrows in Orthodoxy… Did he ask the Patriarchate? Well, given that Pat. Bartholomew celebrated his …Birthday yesterday (a rarity in Orthodoxy where only a few holy figures have that privilege: Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary ans St.John the Baptist), novelty is not disliked in Constantinople… Let’s not forget, the “theologian” John Chryssavgis, with his preference for LGBTQ ministries and such, is special advisor to Pat. Bartholomew!…

Let me close this short comment by repeating what I am saying in-person to those who ask me: Those who have seen Elpidophoros up close and personal the last few months report that he lives in a cloud of “make believe”.  He is definitely on the way out – there is no doubt about it.  He gives this same impression in every appearance.  Nobody knows exactly the timing (although most calculate it will take place this year – likely before the beginning of the ecclesiastical year on September 1st) – but we all agree on the inevitability of his departure.  He has caused an absolute disaster in the Church of America, where the faithful are avoiding him like the plague and have left the Church for other Orthodox churches by the thousands…

His failure should also ring a bell for the Patriarchate.  Pat. Bartholomew has made so many mistakes that he rightfully deserves the title of the most catastrophic Ecumenical Patriarch of the last two hundred years.  Above all, he has blood on his hands from the “Autocephaly/Cacocephaly” of Ukraine… And soon, the ghost of “Epiphanius of No Ukraine” will chase him until he is forced to resign…

I guess Elpidoforo’s order, probably instigated by Chrysavgis, an “advisor”, who is a modernizer, and as far as I’m concerned a highly paid nobody, who only gives speeches once a year, “enlightening us” as to what Christ wants from us, is to bring the church into the Western sphere, with the ultimate aim of admitting women priests, blessing same sex unions and every other Western liberal concoct. Maybe they think that Orthodoxy will be saved that way, in America. It will probably turn into a Unitarian non religious assembly

      The US Presbyterian Church’s International Engagement committee voted overwhelmingly to recognize that “Israel’s laws, policies and practices regarding the Palestinian people fulfill the international legal definition of apartheid,” as they had determined that Palestinians were systematically oppressed through inhuman acts for the objective of racial domination.

      The resolution claimed that there were two sets of laws for Israelis and Palestinians, which are preferential for the former and oppressive to the latter.         As for your name, it is actually Michael 1. I guess there’s a Michael 2? So, its like using the toilet. You go for number 1 and the other Michael goes for number 2. Thanks for that info. Now, how about proof of your employment at a fortune 500 company? And proof of graduating Grade school? As for your wife being a pharmacist, while selling drugs and vaccines to others, while you and her refused to take them, is what hypocrisy and taking advantage of others’ suffering is all about. Any professional worth their degree would not profit off a drug that she doesn’t trust to take herself.

  4. The problem with Elpidophoros leaving is that, who is going to replace him?

    The Ecumenical Patriarchate has countless of holy hierarchs on Athos and in the Athonite monasteries here in America. St. Anthony’s alone has numerous monks who could be bishops.

    Yet they choose to elect disasters. And my fear is that this will continue until GOARCH has completely collapsed. Orthodoxy is growing like wildfire in America, my Antiochian parish alone has 30+ catechumens, and the other jurisdictions are rapidly leaving GOARCH behind.

    I’ll reiterate what I’ve previously said: If a holy hierarch is elected as head of the GOA and cleans house I will absolutely return. My fear is that will never happen though, and I will be staying with the Antiochians permanently as many, many other former GOA members have done.

  6. First of all, NO Orthodox church be part pf this assembly. We are far from the days when such figure as Fr. George Florovsky participated in such organisations to witness to the truth of Orthodoxy. The heterodox bodies haved moved ever further away from traditional morality. The best witness Orthodox can give is to distance themselves from this ecumenism.
    And why is Bishop Irenei of the Serbian Church part of this body? Did any of these churches speak out against the persecution of the Serbian Orthodox faithful in Kosovo or other parts of the former Yugoslavia? I don’t believe so; but a Jew named Michael Savage did.
    In all fairness, the Russian church is big on marking birthdays of hierarchs. Orthodox monastics ought to mark their name days, the day of the Saint whose name they were given at the time of their tonsure.

  7. Iakovos used his NCC position to keep Clinton from bombing the Serbs and only by having Karloutsos remove Iakovos was Clinton able to do this. Read, for example, Olasky’s World magazine, of that time for the evangelicals complaining about Iakovos preventing the bombing.
