Επιπροσθέτως, επεσήμανε ότι η κυβέρνηση βιάστηκε να κάνει συγκάλυψη αναθέτοντας το μπάζωμα σε εταιρεία που δεν είχε ιδρυθεί: «Μια εταιρεία – φάντασμα ανέλαβε, λέει, το μπάζωμα. Πρόκειται για την ΤΣΑΠΑΤΟΡΗΣ ΓΕΡΑΝΟΙ – ΜΕΤΑΦΟΡΕΣ ΙΚΕ”. Η εταιρεία δεν υπήρχε όταν εκτελούνταν οι εργασίες στις 3 Μαρτίου. Συστάθηκε στις 6 Απριλίου 2023. Έναν μήνα μετά!».

Very likely there was no such evidence before the elections. We can suspect Velopoulos role all we want, but we can’t deny that he is a lonely voice coming out with the truth regularly. In addition, if what he said is true many people need to resign including Mitsotakis.
I don’t think Mitsotakis would resign even if they caught him on camera doing or saying the most heinous things…he’d more likely blame “AI” and “deep fake” first, declare such evidence as “fake news”, and find other scapegoats before resigning…
And about the evidence thing, I really don’t buy that, to be honest…Greece is too small of a country…everyone knows someone who knows someone else in a “village kafeneio” like Greece…If this was truly a hazmat accident scene, someone knew, (starting from the rail workers that hitched and loaded the hazmat material to the train), or the fuel truck drivers that had to go to the railyard to unload, or the first responders that saw what type of “fire” or “spill” they were dealing with, etc. It’s not possible to keep such a thing a secret for that long in Greece. I do recall they generally positioned most of the media cameras at a distance (from the road above the accident scene), and not super close to the rail cars… Unfortunately, in corrupt states, media silence is usually either “bought” or “earned” via threatening “examples” such as the Καραιβαζ incident…are we forgetting the EU’s recent report about Greek corruption and freedom of the media?
