The American Oligarchy Has No Choice But To Let Trump Win the Election

For several months now, I’ve had a dread feeling that the Deep State will find a way to derail the presidential election. I have, more or less, kept my feelings between myself and Gail because it sounded too “out there.” I’m not one to put on a tin-foil hat but the fact that Trump is gaining in the polls, coupled with Biden’s clear dementia and New York’s pressing need to send Trump where the sun don’t shine, it makes it more likely that come November, Donald Trump will pull a Grover Cleveland and become only the second president in American history to win two non-consecutive terms.

And this terrifies the Oligarchs. (Yeah, we got ’em too. Why should the Russians and Ukrainians have all the fun?)

Anyway, where was I? Things are churning along rather nicely on the Trump Train. Because of this, there’s been talk about not having an election. As you all may know, Gail and I listen a lot to Col Douglas MacGregor. He’s retired military, a decorated combat veteran, not some dilettante. He’s also well- connected; he knows who the good guys are in the Pentagon, he also knows where the Swamp Rats are. And he went public and said the same thing.

That’s how scared the Oligarchy is of Trump coming back into office.

Since then, others in the podcast community have hinted at the same thing. Mind you, we should keep in mind what Yogi Berra said about predicting the future. I’m no oracle but having said that, I can’t escape this feeling of dread. It’s there. And I’m not the only one who feels the same way. If MacGregor believes it’s a possibility, then you know others believe it too.

Let’s say that the powers-that-be are furiously scrambling to find a way to derail the Trump Train. How will they do it? Well, they’ve tried lawfare, so far, it hasn’t worked. If anything, it’s made him even more popular. They thought that Alvin Bragg’s kangaroo court in Manhattan would stop him, mainly because he wouldn’t be able to leave New York City and hit the campaign trail.

So, did you see what he did with this box of lemons they threw at him? He made barrells of lemonade. Can’t leave the Big Apple? “OK, I’ll go to the South Bronx and give my stock speech there.” And what happened? Twenty-five thousand, urban, black, and Latino people showed up to hear him speak. He gave the same speech to this crowd that he gives to overwhelmingly rural white crowds in West Virginia –or Ohio, or Michigan. It was vintage Reagan.

On the other hand, Biden was just in Philadelphia, the bluest city in the nation and he could barely fill up a high school gym. Things are so bad that the White House got Robert DeNero out of mothballs, hoping that he could shame New Yawkers for even thinking about voting for Trump. That went over like a lead balloon.

So, work with me here. What option does the Deep State have? There are only two: first, they could cut some deals with him. Something along these lines: “Look, Don, we know you’re going to win, we’ll even help you, just don’t put us in jail.” In other words, let the elections happen come what may.

That’s number one. We can call that the sensible option. The second option is too terrifying to think about, and that is provoking the Russian bear into striking back. Massively. Yup, you heard it here: elements of the Deep State are ready, willing (but no so able) to go to war. Somehow, they are delusional enough to believe that the Russians will blink and pull out of the Ukraine. Hell, some of them are delusional enough to believe they can actually survive a nuclear exchange if things go that far.

Mark my words, the Neocons are that delusional.

The question at this point is, are there any sane people left in the Pentagon? (Personally, I have a gut feeling that Biden’s handlers have taken the nuclear football away from him and Kamala; if true, then we can all breathe a sigh of relief. At least I hope so.)

There is a third option. I call it the Gaza option.

Israel, or more accurately, Israel’s current invasion of Gaza is a wild card. When the Israelis first struck back at Hamas, it distracted the world’s attention from the Ukraine. It also exposed the manifest weakness of Israel, the “only democracy in the Middle East.” Not only has the IDF not been able to crush Hamas once and for all, but the Israeli economy is in the crapper. Entire swaths of the Galilee are empty because Hizballah can rain down tens of thousands of rockets on Israeli sites, even as far as Haifa/Tel Aviv.

Worse than that, tens of thousands of Israelis have left Israel. According to some estimates, 80,000 have moved to Germany alone (let that sink in). Real estate prices in Greece and Cyprus have skyrocketed because Israelis are looking for places to live. Israel’s entire raison d’etre has always been that because of the Holocaust, the world’s Jews need a safe place where they can live in peace. Talk about irony, because of Gaza, Israel has now lost that narrative.

So where am I going with this? What do I mean by the “third option”?

Mainly this: American oligarchs have to ask themselves some long and hard questions beginning with: Which is more important, Israel or the Ukraine? The United States and NATO cannot sustain both conflicts ad infinitum. (Especially if the United States’ real objective is to take on China in the Indo-Pacific.) In other words, if war is the only answer, then Uncle Sam is going to have to pick his poison.

And a poisoned chalice it is. Three NATO countries –Ireland, Norway, and Spain–have officially recognized Palestine as a state. Was this what Trump had in mind in 2017 when he recognized Jerusalem as the capitol? The capitol of Palestine, perhaps? This means that we’re not going to be able to corral the rest of NATO to help us help the Israelis.

The question then becomes will NATO be on board with an invasion of Russia? Somehow, I doubt it.

The table that has been set for the American oligarchy is a dog’s breakfast (with a side-dish of vomit). Sensible people would look at this and start looking for exit ramps. One such exit ramp would be to go ahead and let Trump win the election (as stated).

Because if they don’t, then we –and they–are screwed, any way you look at it.
