As I was watching today’s news the number of Democrats who were asking Senator Menendez to resign was growing and growing: More than half of the Senate Democrats have done so by noon, many congressmen, and even more elected democrat officials of all kinds and especially from New Jersey… All under the pretense that he would hurt their chances in 2024… You can look here, here, and here to sample the desperate calls as the Senator was planning to address his fellow Democrats.
But it was obvious to many experienced and sober observers that these calls were dishonest and immoral. Why should anyone resign before being proven guilty in a Court of Law? Should we throw the Constitution in the trash for political expediency? Naturally, Senator Menendez found a lot of supporters in the GOP, the same people whom the continuing unfair prosecution of President Trump has exasperated. An interesting article by Axios summarized the views of these GOP supporters of Senator Menendez.
From then on, asking whether American Democracy would be better served if Senator Menendez switched to the GOP is just a tiny extra step. Here are some factors to consider:
- First, Americans have had enough of the Democrats using the Justice system in all its forms to achieve political goals. It started before the election of President Trump in 2016, and it grew more prominent by the day. Just today we heard the unbelievable ruling of an idiotic Judge that Trump fraudulently inflated the value of his properties, including his Mar-a-Lago estate. This is just the latest in years of unfair and unnecessary involvement of the Justice system in the political process that has turned American democracy into a subject of ridicule worldwide.
- New Jersey may have been voting overwhelmingly for Democrats. Still, those among us with experience in politics can sense massive undercurrents of disappointment and disgust among voters nationwide. Since the start of the school year, the average parent has been appalled by what their children must go through in the “updated LGBTQ+ friendly” curricula!! Not to mention the failed foreign policy and the risk of nuclear escalation in Ukraine (just recently the Biden administration decided to send depleted uranium bombs there!), the even more shaky economy with persistent inflation, the crisis at the border, the lawlessness in our big cities, etc. It was these issues that forced just a few days ago Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, a longtime Democrat, to join the GOP!
- Given the above, Senator Menendez can see his crisis as an opportunity to turn the tables on the failed, woke, and extremist Democrat policies, who have made it a goal to demolish the American Justice system any way they can, mainly by injecting it into politics!
- Needless to point out, as an American of Cuban descent, Senator Menendez will have substantial support among his fellow Cuban Americans and many other ethnic communities who escaped communism and are now subjected to totalitarian practices. Cuban-Americans in South Florida are known to be staunch Republicans. GOP Senator Maro Rubio (in the mentioned above Axios article) was among the first to offer words of support for Menendez…
We live in a critical and very fluid political juncture. The future of this country is in the balance. America is no longer America if the rule of law disappears or the Justice system is manipulated for political purposes. If Senator Menendez makes the right decision now, he will instantly save the country and become a hero, as the Republicans will likely become the majority.
There are some circumstances in life and in politics when the biggest risk is not taking the risk. Senator Menendez, will you take the risk?

The reality is that if every member of Congress and every public official were investigated seriously many would be found guilty and sent to jail. Someone the other day said to me that ALL are guilty… because the political game and its “rules” are flawed and need to be re-written (prime example: the foreign-lobbying rules).
