In one more treasonous act that will highlight his tenure as a prime minister forever, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, according to politico.com in an interview with Mitsotakis published today (link here), said that Greece “would consider participating in a sea corridor of humanitarian aid to Gaza if ships could operate with “full protection.”
Even if it were not a fact that Turkey is housing and protecting the Hamas leadership, it would be atrocious for Greece to accept Muslim refugees, as the country is already overwhelmed with hundreds of thousands of them. But introducing possible Hamas terrorists in a country that faces a threat in the form of “casus belli” (“threat/cause of war”) from another Muslim country (Turkey) is simply TREASON. Sorry, there are no other words for such an act.

You got it wrong. The corridor doesnt mean that they’re going to Greece to stay. They’re going to Egypt or other countries that want them.
No you got it wrong. There is extensive discussion in Greece of allowing them to stay in the western part of the country, away from the border with Turkey.
I watch the Greek news daily, in Greek. I have not seen any such plans. I am opposed to Muslims taking over Greece, as much as any other Greek. Mitsotakis has proven that he is also against such settlement. However, he brings up constantly the fact that Greece needs agricultural and tourism workers. They can mostly be sourced in Moslem countries, such as Pakistan and Bangladesh. Palestinians, being much closer and with many Greeks being pro Arab, and anti_Israel, and facing a dire demographic future, it could be a possibility that Palestinians might be welcome by some Greeks. The humanitarian corridor though, is not intended for settlement purposes or human transfer. It is only for movement of supplies and medicine.
Have you seen how many millions went to the TV channels recently as “support” from the Greek government? Helleniscope had a post on this issue. If you depend for information on the Greek TV channels, I am sorry to say, you have no chance to learn much of the truth. Unfortunately, we learn the truth from foreign sources. For example, we learn the truth about Greece-Turkey deals from the Turkish press.
I agree with you. All types of media, including newspapers that have a few thousand readership receives subsidies from the governemnt. Its crazy waste of money. The reason behind that is that a law, passed when Greece was not as advanced as she is now, had to support all kinds of dissenting voices. However, I dont think that’s any worse, than the ownership of Fox News by the Murdochs. The one sided coverage is evident.
Bob….Hellenidcope has got it right …Egypt has closed its borders to any refugees , and unlike Greece or as Hellenicsope calls Mistotakis a traitor will not legitimise …the genocide and ethic and religious cleansing of 2.2 million humans from the open air prison of Gaza ..by an occupying force! The damage to Greece and Cyprus and the Greek Orthodox Christian communities in Syria, Israel. Palestine. Turkey and most of the Middle East because of the policies of Mistotakis to accomodate U.S and Israeli interest in the Middle East ..are going to be castastrophic for decades to come ! Mitsotakis is no traitor. You might be opposed to some of his policies, but that doesnt make him a traitor. You can’t be throwing accusations with no proof. A traitor would have been one who signed agreements to turn over a part of Greece to a foreign power. I agree with you though, that Israel has turned Gaza into an open air prison and has no regard for Christians.
Having said that, Greece realized that by being allied to Israel, has many more benefits that the previous, anti-Israel, pro-Arab stance. Greece has alligned her foreign policy to the EU and America. And that’s how it should be. Greece is part of the West. Turkey can afford to have an independent policy because she’s more powerful than Greece.
There is a difference between aligning your policy with the West and being a colony of the West. Greece has been paying off predatory Western loans since the time the country gained independence, 200 years ago. It has declared bankruptcy several times during those 200 years, the last time a few years ago (yes, it was practically a bankruptcy).
Mitsotakis IS a traitor. The whole Mitsotakis family has been subservient to the CIA since the early 1960s. When the CIA archives are revealed – have no doubt the time will come – it will be evident to all. And they have been serving the Gwermans since WWII when Constantine Mitsotakis “served” as an interpreter of the Gestapo in Crete. The PM himself was involved in a scandal with German multinational Siemens. Look it up and stop hallucinating.
I agree that Greece had to pay predatory loans. Even the ones that she’s paying now. However, the socialists with Andreas at the lead, were promising more and more every time there were elections. It was similar what happened here during the rea estate bubble. People were buying homes they couldn’t afford. Greece held the Olympics that she couldn’t afford. The security companies had a field day, due to the war on terrorism, by selling Greece all kinds of anti terror “expertise”. I disagree with you on Mitsotakis being a traitor. For proof, aren’t you jumping the gun? You’re saying that we’ll have the proof when the CIA reveals its archives. Why not wait until there’s proof and then call him a traitor. His father was accused of being a collaborator during the German occupation, by virtue of a picture. That’s no proof. Besides, we can’t second guess what people did then, until we walked in their shoes.
I am not the type to jump the gun or accuse anyone without having serious indication -at the minimum. The older Mitsotakis had a close relationship with the CIA since the early 1960. His family continued the “service”. Their acts prove it. Especially today, when his foreign policy serve unquestionably the US or Israel, while Greece’s interests suggest a more balanced policy. Those who serve not their country’s interests but the interests of others are simply called traitors. Why do you need to play with words?
