Eleni Bousis intervened in the “gay marriage” debate for the second time in days by attacking Father Karpathiou’s viral appearance on Greek TV. If she thinks she has the mental acumen, the knowledge of Biblical Faith, and the moral stature, why doesn’t she answer Metropolitan Mesogaias Nikolaos – in the video we are re-posting here today for one more time?  I am not holding my breath… She can’t… And neither AB Elpidophoros nor Pat. Bartholomew can answer the actual teachings of Faith on marriage and family…

By Nick Stamatakis

Eleni Bousis has assumed the role of a leading propagandist of the gay agenda in Greece and beyond, intervening for the second time in a few days in the debate about gay marriage and adoption.  This time, she was responding to a viral video of Fr. Karpathiou’s presence on a popular morning TV show in Greece:

The truth is that Fr. Karpathiou could have avoided a couple of harsh words.  But in general, he expressed the Church’s position on marriage clearly.

For those of you who do not understand Greek well, here is a summary in English of what Fr. Karpathiou said:

“We are all looking for the normal. Let’s see if this nature tells us that homosexuality is a legitimate state of affairs? I don’t know if there is happiness or love between them. They declare happiness, but they are in sorrow; they declare love, but they are in hate,” said Fr.Karpathiou and made a reference to Plato’s banquet.

At this point, Yannis Poulopoulos answered and told him the theory about half an orange. “It is considered absolutely unnatural for two people of the same sex to come together,” Father Stylianos Karpathiou continued.

“It is not a social issue. These people are unfruitful fig trees” emphasized the Father. Yiannis Poulopoulos answered saying at the same time that it insults him personally.

“All these people have sadness and hatred inside them and especially the people who suffer rape,” continued Stylianos Karpathiou, and the journalist asked him what he was talking about.

She answered him: “Excuse me sir, is there no rape? Nature defines things differently. Even purely medically, what you are doing is unnatural” and added: “You have the right to be who you want to be, but in your own home. You have no right to make it a public spectacle. I will never allow my children to be propagandized. You called me to tell you some things. You’re on the wrong track.”

IF ELENI BOUSIS BELIEVES SHE HAS THE MENTAL ACUMEN, THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE BIBLICAL FAITH, AND THE MORAL STATURE, WHY DOESN’T SHE TRY TO RESPOND TO THIS VIDEO OF METROPOLITAN OF MESOGAIAS NIKOLAOS? I am not holding my breath… (This video has English subtitles).

ELENI BOUSIS’ RESPONSE TO FR. STYLIANOS KARPATHIOU (Her translation). To read her letter in Greek, please link here.

As a mother of a gay child, it’s disheartening to see unethical comments and criticism from “so call man of God”.  I pity those who have lost their purpose in serving the Lord and his Home. With humility and respect, I would like to challenge unstoppable and cruel statements by responding to Fr. Karpathiou and his friend in Corfu for the insulting and humiliating comments he is making about gay couples.

As a Greek Orthodox Christian, I carry a lot of sadness in my heart knowing the love, respect, and commitment I had for the “man in the black long cloth”. My entire family and our children lived, breathed and practiced love for God, his temple and his servants.
Unfortunately, they have been shaken up with the rude and dismissive comments made by the “so called Gods servants “.

I am astonished with Fr. Karpathiou’s comments about “Normal”. What is the meaning of normal in his vocabulary? I suggest before he expresses himself again with so much anger and hate, he needs to listen with love, kindness and patience to these loving and caring children of God. Priests don’t have the right to question and discuss anyone’s sexuality. Their oath to God is to spread “LOVE and UNITY “ and as God says, “He without sin toss the first stone”.

Sadly, as a priest, you are insulting the teachings of Jesus and the many faithful representatives of his Holy Kingdom. I will like to ask the priests and our society what is “Natural”? Raping innocent children? Impregnating young girls and ripping their children from them? Normal is selling children for sex slavery, tossing them to perverts to seduce, rape, and torture them?

30 years ago, I spoke along with Ambassador Millers’ wife, Bonnie, making the world aware at the EU conference, which took place in Greece for The Family in the 21st century, how the Mediterranean was the biggest traffic center for children being sold to sex slavery. Do you call normal to give children away to orphanages, foundations, and institutions where many of us know exactly what happens behind many of those closed doors.

Is it normal to abduct children and cut them up selling their Organ parts?
Is it normal to have parents kill their children in a dysfunctional home environment?
Is it normal for a man to kill his wife because she disagreed with his views or didn’t have the meal on the table ready for the king?
I question what is normal in your eyes and in our eyes?

Father, I am appealing to you and all men who have chosen to serve our beloved Lord, Jesus, who came down and was born in a manger with animals breathing to keep him warm and was crucified shedding his blood for our sins, to please start preaching love, unity and acceptance. Let’s not destroy and divide our church. We are losing the future of the church with despicable comments. You have no business involving yourself in anyone’s bedroom. I assure you there are many priests who have gay children and many leaders of our church who have children or grandchildren. Therefore, they know the pain they carry in their heart the way we all do, when we see so much hate and anger on these loving gay people.

I suggest you start questioning yourself, why you have so much anger and hate in your heart. Maybe it’s time you have a meeting with this abnormal as you called them children and see how difficult life has been for them. They have been tormented bullied, many of them rapped, abused and thrown out of their homes in a very young age going out into a cruel world prostituting for survival. This is what I have witness with the work, I have been doing for the past 40 years. Let’s start accepting, protecting, loving and defending these people, and every other human being that’s created in our Lords image.

Walk with me and see what love really is these couples have more love for humanity, the Lords, home and their children than what you saw call normal couples.
May God have mercy on the haters and may he bring a light of peace and love in their heart.

As a very dear federal judge told me many years ago. There is four parts to the truth Yours, His, God, and Justice.

  1. No wonder Lord Jesus insulted the Godless rich – like Eleni Bousis, saying:

“It’s easier for a camel to get thru the eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven”.

What hubris of this ignorant heretic to dictate the fashion of her secular powers to a holy man Fr. Karpathiou…
we see why St. Paul said,

“I do not permit a woman to exercise
authority over a man; rather she should remain silent, for Adam came first & Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived & transgressed”.

She’s prototype why the rich believe money trumps God’s Divine Laws; wait and see consequences of her demonic campaign on Judgment Day.

  2. I’m trying to bite my tongue. Doesn’t she realize that she’s not helping her son or herself by opening her mouth. She got what she wanted (and surreptitiously)…so you would think that she wouldn’t keep raising and aggravating the situation and bringing more negative attention to her son. But her ego consumes her.
If she won’t do it for her son then she certainly won’t do it for the rest of us who find her ignorant cackling and accusations annoying. She’s like chalk across a blackboard, like cutting cardboard with a knife. Actually she’s worse.
Maybe we should all call her husband’s company to ask him to please bring her to her senses.

  3. I just read it again and found her comments so absurd that they would be hilarious if they weren’t so spiritually harmful, so contrary to the teachings in the New Testament, the Fathers and Holy Tradition.

Does she realize that Confession is required to receive Holy Communion and this is solely done for the benefit and protection of the Communicants. And that anyone who has sex outside of marriage (gay or straight) and especially those who also live together…cannot receive without Confession. Has she even consulted a Priest? And if so, has she even listened to a Priest? She has no humility, nor is she even interested in listening. In any case, her son and his lover should not receive Communion without a blessing from a Priest: just like the rest of us.

  4. Eleni’s rant is quite illogical. Fr. Karpathiou never denied that all the abominable things Eleni is listing are sinful and against God’s will. So what’s her point in the end of this long list of self-evident questions that highlight undeniable sins?

Secondly, the word Φυσιολογικο in this use technically means “natural” vs. “normal”. Eleni got this wrong in her response, and Fr. Karpathiou is intentionally using this term because the root word Φυσις has long-standing theological meaning and use in the Orthodox Church. Eleni didn’t catch this nuance, obviously.

3d, Fr. Karpathiou is a trained medical Psychiatrist, who is using terminology that was “perfectly valid” and used by the entire Psych community up until about 1990, when they started “imposing” the idea that everyone should “accept” these folks in “whatever way that they want”, just to make them “feel better about themselves”. This is also around the same time when HIV was ravaging that community, and a wider societal “empathy” started building up because of the disproportional statistical number of deaths in their community in the 1980s compared to “mainstream” society…that’s kind of important for people to realize the historical evolution that led to the “shift” in mindset on how they were treated by the Psychological / Psychiatric communities (and society) just a couple years later…However, if the scientific community prior to 1990 was correct in “treating this as a condition”, then the shift is almost equivalent to the phrase “allowing the inmates running the asylum”….we must repeat…until about 1990, global Psychology/Psychiatry was teaching that this was a “condition”… Fr. Karpathiou is using language that is aligned with training that predates the 1990’s shift, because obviously, that’s the era he was trained in…that doesn’t make his points “hateful”…He brought this point up in the youtube clip when he made that statement about “up until 1985, this was treated as a condition”… Either way, the “jury is still out” on what science is more valid…pre 1990 or post 1990…that debate will likely last for decades…

No matter what, the Church can’t change a long-standing understanding and teaching on this subject. Fr. Karpathiou stressed it in the last minute (not Ieronymos, not Bartholomew, nobody can change 3000+ years of Old/New Testament teaching)….The Church cannot follow the 1990 “shift” for a simple reason…that “shift” from treating this situation as a “condition” also introduced the theory that someone must be “born this way”…that unfortunately causes a theological problem. Accepting this theory as being true means that “God is responsible for making someone a sinner”…that obviously can’t be valid. What’s next? Would we hear the argument “God made me a thief, murderer, etc”? Sounds a lot like the original argument “that woman you gave me / that snake tricked me…”…

We are in an era of spiritual decline, where “democracy vote” by an “increasingly corrupt society” is dictating what is “acceptable in society”, and “individual freedom” really means “freedom to publicly demonstrate spiritual filth and sin”, and “force others to accept it as normal”…St. Dorotheos of Gaza had written about this in the 6th century A.D….when a sinner “buries their conscience” (the voice that tells them “this is wrong”), and then proceeds to “justify the sin”, pride takes over, and that sinner loses the ability to repent…that’s why Eleni and others are trying to “bully traditional voices within the Church” into “accepting such abomination” as something that is “not a deadly sin”…they’ve already been through this spiritually deadly “justification process” that St. Dorotheos described 1500 years ago… Fr. Karpathiou is certainly not falling for it.

We posted on a previous thread that the word Υπερηφανος (proud person) is usually associated with the type of individual that God is against… Karpathiou play along with those who are promoting “Pride”?

If Jesus Christ himself showed up today, and said what he needed to say about this subject, it is likely that those who support Eleni on this same subject would be part of the pack that would Crucify Him again…but they’ll probably start with Fr. Karpathiou in the meantime…he represents the “voice of conscience” of the “ancient Church tradition” of 2000+ years (as well as the voice of pre-1990’s Psych teaching), that the modernists would love to “bury forever”, so that they can Resurrect their “Freedom from Conscience”, the same “wild sinful Freedoms” that the Israelites resurrected in the valley below, while Moses was receiving the 10 Commandments on Mt. Sinai…

And to point out a Church teaching about a link between idolatry (a common theme of our modern era) and the devolving spiritual state of society, St. John Chrysostom’s commentary on 1 Romans 26-27 summarizes perfectly a great message to Eleni (and every Eleni out there):
    Source: https://www.romfea.gr/katigories/10-apopseis/61048-o-ieros-xrysostomos-peri-tis-omofylofilias

    • Excellent response. I can’t help but feel a little sorry for Mrs. Bousis, she must be disappointed with the situation no matter how much she protests. A difficult situation for a parent.

  6. i would like to respond to the 10 minute video posted in your article, where Fr. Stylianos Karpathiou is bravely defending morality and the Orthodox Church’s position against homosexulaity. In the video, we see a “blank stare” from one of the inteviewers when the good Father comments that homosexuality is a mental illness (as are all forms of sexual deviation). He also tried to say that the medical profession at one time DID acknowledge homosexuality and all other forms of sexual deviation as mental illness, but that later on changed. The interviewers were attacking the priest from all sides and not letting him finish, so I would like to do that for him, if I may, by sharing this article here https://orthodoxreflections.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/TheTrojanCouchSatinover.pdf. This is a link to “THE TROJAN COUCH”: HOW THE MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATIONS MISREPRESENT SCIENCE, written by psychiatrist, Jeffrey B Satinover M.D. PhD, Nov 30, 1986. It is 24 pages long, and outlines in detail, how the LGBTQ+ lobby groups managed to succeed in influencing the field of psychiatry (not to mention the entertainment industry, media and politicians) – to such an extent, that every successive publication of the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) has further and further diluted and watered down its definitions of sexual deviations to the point where they are no longer described as ailments needing professional help.

In other words, sexual deviations and the DSM gradually left the arena of science and entered the arena of politicized science (unbeknownst to most people who still think it is inside the arena of real science) to the extent that the average semi-educated individual has come to accept that what we used to know as “sexual deviations”, are now variations of a “norm.” I put “norm” in quotation marks, because “normal” is a statistical definition. If 85% of the population has it or does it, it is actually, statistically, “normal.” As Christians, we know that what is “normal”, is not necessarily good, beneficial, edifying, worthy, God-pleasing or moral; but the average semi-educated person, thinks that “normal” is OK, and this is how the LGBTQ+ movement has been able to gain ground.

I would also like to comment on the topic of gay “marriage.” I agree with Fr. Stylianos Karpathiou, that we all have our God-given freedom to live however we like (not without physical and spiritual consequences ofcourse) but privately in our homes. Our sexuality, regardless of how we are “oriented” does not belong in the streets, on TV, on Social Media, etc. It should be kept private. Correct me if I’m wrong, but my understanding is that the LGBTQ+ activists have been pushing for gay “marriage” because a number of them are in “monogamous” relationships and wish to be recognized by their government as a “couple” so they could enjoy the same financial perks and tax breaks etc. as any other heterosexual married couple. At one point that used to be the main reason why they sought “marriage.” The issue with “marriage” however, is that THIS is a biblical word, and words matter.

The co-habitation of any two people, be they same sex or not, cannot be called a “marriage,” unless it is blessed by God’s representative (a priest). If they seek a political recognition of “couplehood” because they are loyally cohabitating with one another, then let them have it, just don’t call it a “marriage.” Call it a “committment” or a “legal union”, or a “legal alliance” or anything else, instead of “marriage”. Once you start calling it a “marriage,” you are now dragging in 3+ world religions which also use the term “marriage”. I have no problem if two same sex people (or two heterosexual people who have not gotten “married” by God) want to buy a house together and quietly and modestly live down the street from me, while working, paying their taxes and enjoying the same tax benefits I am enjoying.

But please, do not call such unions, cohabitations or committments “marriages” and do not celebrate them as such. These people have the freedom to celebrate their unions if they wish, but not as MARRIAGES, because as I said, marriages are Old and New Testament Biblical terms and sacraments according to the Orthodox Church.

    • Yes well said Irene,
I too observed how rude of Gay agenda to steal title – the word Marriage – when “Civil Unions” was already good enough.
It’s all bc they’ve sinister agenda to dismantle all religions that condemn sexual deviancy — this is why this Eleni wants to aggrandize homosexuality — all for her spoiled, effeminate son.
Kyrie Eleison. Where is her husband to make her stop?

  7. There are many problems with Eleni Bousis’ logic. A key problem is that she has no standing and no competence to criticize a priest on matters of church doctrine. She is out of line.

We are the Church of the seven Ecumenical Synods. Our dogma is found in the Holy Bible and the holy canons ascribed by our synodical church after centuries of deliberation and prayer. We are not guided by economic sponsors, regardless how much they donate. Their donations are sincerely appreciated, but they do not make them authorities on Orthodox dogma. If she struggles with these issues, she ought to discuss her concerns with her spiritual father in penitence.

Until an ecumenical council rejects the gospel and the teachings of our Church Fathers, such as those found in the canons of St. Basil and St. John Chrysostom, our Church has a DUTY to defend the Seven Sacraments, including the sacrament of marriage.

The Christian family is obviously under attack and our spiritual father is held hostage by his financial sponsor and her mighty dollars. They are both guilty of trampling on a bedrock of our Faith, the sacrament of marriage.

With such wolves running rampantly among the flock, WHERE IS OUR SHEPHERD?

  8. Someone above said it best, if Jesus was here today, Eleni, the new world order of freaks would be crucifying our Lord all over again. Only this time, with much more vehemence and hatred. These wealthy, sold-out Greeks are on a definite trajectory to a miserable life eternal; their delusions have no end! The unfortunate part of all this is that they will continue to spew their ungodly agenda on the rest of us, especially to all those poor unfortunate souls who truly have no clue on how to save their souls from eternal damnation, and actually want to believe her. God will never ever enter our hearts without permission. In order to receive the Lord into our hearts, we must live according to the life of Christ and His teachings; the Ultimate Mentor! No pride, no ego, humbly, share your wealth, follow the 10 commandments and live by our holy Orthodox canons. Have LOVE of Christ by LIVING the life of Christ! ❤️

As Orthodox Christians, we MUST repent, confess, fast, commune, regularly. Live our lives as the saints have centuries before us; they are our models, mentors, and most died gruesome deaths defending our faith, and our Lord, most courageously!

No excuses; follow the royal path to Jesus or you and yours are NOT going to be with Him in paradise….and yes, Jesus said so….

  9. Irregardless of the parents biological or adoptive, every child has a right to be baptised.
But the manner (ο τρόπος) in which this is done is crucial in orthodoxy.
Here the ‘manner’ was the worst possible and it scandalised most people in the church.
The Archbishop is mainly responsible for this but so is the family for reasons that are obvious by now.
If the goal of the family was solely and genuinely (and humbly) to baptise their children non of this response would’ve happened.
