The government is horrified by the grand rural rally in the “heart” of Athens
The farmers are leaving the Constitution in coordination with the tractors, despite the “voices” for staying. Decisions about their next moves will be made at the blocks
With a unique, dynamic mobilization, the farmers showed the Mitsotakis government that they do not hesitate to claim with all their “weapons” what they are looking for in order to keep the countryside “alive”.
Despite the cold, in the Constitution they sat all night with their tractors after the big rally that took place outside the Parliament, asking the government for substantial support measures and not crumbs, like the ones they have received so far, after about a month in the block.
At the same time, they held a meeting earlier as some farmers were insisting that the tractors remain in the center of the capital until their demands are answered. However, shortly before 11:00, their departure from the center of Athens began. The farmers’ next moves are expected to be taken at the blocks.
“Let the government give us a solution and then scrape the bottom of the barrel” is the message they send after the rally, which they describe as “successful”.
In fact, farmers are making appointments for September. The plan is for the farmers to leave Athens by following the same route by which they arrived in the city. Thus, they will depart via Syngrou Avenue and then head towards the National Highway. At some point they will split up, as the peasants from the Peloponnese will head for Corinth. It is recalled that those farmers who had arrived by bus in Athens, left as soon as the rally ended. At the same time, the police authorities are on standby, while traffic regulations are expected to be put into effect again, for the tractors to leave the center of Athens. In this context, Vasilissis Amalia Avenue still remains closed, while the center is inaccessible. With the tractors lined up in Syntagma, the traffic on the streets of Athens is in the “red”. Increased traffic is also recorded in Kifissos, since cars move with difficulty in both directions on the main road of Athens. In the stream towards Piraeus increased traffic is observed from Metamorfosi to Peristeri and in the stream towards Kifisia from Peristeri to Nea Ionia. Problems also occur on Athens Corinth Avenue shortly after Dafni, but also in scattered places from Kifissos to the center of Athens. Due to the closed roads around Syntagma, Syngrou Avenue is almost inaccessible from Nea Smyrni.
It is estimated that at least 200 tractors and agricultural machines arrived at Syntagma Square, while over 10,000 – 6,000 according to EL.AS. – farmers from all over Greece, from Evros to Crete, came with 160 buses and private cars. On their return to their bases, the farmers are expected to “lock in” their further steps regarding the future of their mobilizations. In fact, it seems that they are either aiming to block roads, or will proceed to other forms of mobilization.
“We have made it clear that the fiscal margins have been exhausted,” repeated the government representative Pavlos Marinakis, sending a message to the farmers who came down from their blocks in the center of Athens. “All these mobilizations are obviously a message to everyone, and for us to do even more, I think we have done too much, always within the existing budgetary limits. We make it clear that at the moment there are no more budgetary margins to give something to the farmers in the form of a grant,” he said characteristically, noting, however, that the farmers showed great dignity in these mobilizations that have been coordinated and with specific requests.

Τρομοκρατημένη η κυβέρνηση από το μεγαλειώδες αγροτικό συλλαλητήριο στην «καρδιά» της Αθήνας

Με μία μοναδική, δυναμική κινητοποίηση οι αγρότες έδειξαν στην κυβέρνηση Μητσοτάκη ότι δεν διστάζουν να διεκδικήσουν με όλα τους τα «όπλα» όσα επιζητούν προκειμένου να παραμείνει «ζωντανή» η αγροτιά.
Παρά το κρύο, στο Σύνταγμα έκατσαν όλη τη νύχτα με τα τρακτέρ τους μετά το μεγάλο συλλαλητήριο που πραγματοποιήθηκε έξω από τη Βουλή, ζητώντας από την κυβέρνηση ουσιαστικά μέτρα στήριξης και όχι ψίχουλα, σαν αυτά που έχουν λάβει μέχρι στιγμής, μετά από περίπου ένα μήνα στα μπλόκα.
Την ίδια ώρα, σύσκεψη πραγματοποίησαν νωρίτερα, καθώς ορισμένοι αγρότες ζητούσαν επιτακτικά να παραμείνουν τα τρακτέρ στο κέντρο της πρωτεύουσας μέχρι να απαντηθούν τα αιτήματά τους. Ωστόσο, λίγο πριν τις 11:00 ξεκίνησε η αποχώρησή τους από το κέντρο της Αθήνας. Οι επόμενες κινήσεις των αγροτών αναμένεται να ληφθούν στα μπλόκα.
«Η κυβέρνηση ας μας δώσει λύση και μετά ας ξύσει τον πάτο του βαρελιού» είναι το μήνυμα που εκπέμπουν μετά το συλλαλητήριο, το οποίο χαρακτηρίζουν «επιτυχημένο».
Μάλιστα οι αγρότες δίνουν ραντεβού για τον Σεπτέμβρη. Το πλάνο είναι οι αγρότες να φύγουν από την Αθήνα ακολουθώντας την ίδια διαδρομή μέσω της οποίας κατέφτασαν στην πόλη. Έτσι, θα αναχωρήσουν μέσω της Λεωφόρου Συγγρού και στη συνέχεια θα κατευθυνθούν προς την Εθνική Οδό. Από ένα σημείο και μετά θα χωριστούν, καθώς οι αγρότες από την Πελοπόννησο θα κατευθυνθούν προς την Κόρινθο. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι όσοι αγρότες είχαν φτάσει με λεωφορεία στην Αθήνα, αναχώρησαν μόλις τελείωσε το συλλαλητήριο. Παράλληλα, οι αστυνομικές Αρχές είναι σε ετοιμότητα, ενώ κυκλοφοριακές ρυθμίσεις αναμένεται να τεθούν εκ νέου σε ισχύ, για την αποχώρηση των τρακτέρ από το κέντρο της Αθήνας. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, εξακολουθεί να παραμένει κλειστή η Λεωφόρο Βασιλίσσης Αμαλίας, ενώ το κέντρο είναι απροσπέλαστο. Με τα τρακτέρ να είναι παραταγμένα στο Σύνταγμα, η κίνηση στους δρόμους της Αθήνας είναι στο «κόκκινο». Αυξημένη κίνηση καταγράφεται και στον Κηφισό, αφού τα αυτοκίνητα κινούνται με δυσκολία και στα δύο ρεύματα στον κεντρικό δρόμο της Αθήνας. Στο ρεύμα προς Πειραιά αυξημένη κίνηση παρατηρείται από τη Μεταμόρφωση μέχρι το Περιστέρι και στο ρεύμα προς Κηφισιά από Περιστέρι μέχρι Νέα Ιωνία. Προβλήματα παρουσιάζονται και στη Λεωφόρο Αθηνών Κορίνθου λίγο μετά το Δαφνί αλλά και σε διάσπαρτα σημεία από τον Κηφισό μέχρι το κέντρο της Αθήνας. Λόγω των κλειστών δρόμων γύρω από το Σύνταγμα η Λεωφόρος Συγγρού είναι σχεδόν απροσπέλαστη από τη Νέα Σμύρνη.
Υπολογίζεται ότι στην πλατεία Συντάγματος έφτασαν τουλάχιστον 200 τρακτέρ και αγροτικά μηχανήματα, ενώ πάνω από 10.000 – 6.000 κατά την ΕΛ.ΑΣ. – αγρότες από όλη την Ελλάδα, από τον Έβρο έως την Κρήτη, ήρθαν και με 160 λεωφορεία και ιδιωτικά ΙΧ οχήματα. Με την επιστροφή τους στις βάσεις τους, οι αγρότες αναμένεται να «κλειδώσουν» τα περαιτέρω βήματά τους όσον αφορά το μέλλον των κινητοποιήσεων τους. Μάλιστα, φαίνεται πως προσανατολίζονται είτε σε αποκλεισμό δρόμων, είτε θα προχωρήσουν σε άλλες μορφές κινητοποίησης.
«Ξεκαθαρίσαμε ότι έχουν εξαντληθεί τα δημοσιονομικά περιθώρια» επανέλαβε ο κυβερνητικός εκπρόσωπος Παύλος Μαρινάκης στέλνοντας μήνυμα στους αγρότες που κατέβηκαν από τα μπλόκα τους στο κέντρο της Αθήνας. «Όλες αυτές οι κινητοποιήσεις προφανώς είναι ένα μήνυμα προς όλους, και σε εμάς να κάνουμε ακόμη περισσότερα, θεωρώ ότι έχουμε κάνει πάρα πολλά, πάντα στα δημοσιονομικά όρια που υπάρχουν. Ξεκαθαρίζουμε ότι αυτή τη στιγμή δεν υπάρχουν άλλα δημοσιονομικά περιθώρια για να δοθεί κάτι στους αγρότες εν είδει επιχορήγησης» είπε χαρακτηριστικά, σημειώνοντας πάντως ότι οι αγρότες επέδειξαν μεγάλη αξιοπρέπεια σε αυτές τις κινητοποιήσεις που έχουν γίνει και συντεταγμένα και με συγκεκριμένα αιτήματα.

However, back in 2005 I personally witnessed the “patriotic” residents of Chios taking a boat across to Asia Minor to do their grocery shopping at a discounted price, dismissing the fact that they were supporting the Turkish economy…We have heard of similar behavior of residents who are on the Bulgarian border, many of these residents being Greek farmers themselves…
The time to negotiate is before the elections, and the time to “punish” deceptive politicians is at the ballot box. Protests 8 months into a 4 year term mean nothing… The farmers of Thessaly & Crete are also to blame for the Mitsotakis government being in power, but even tracing back 4 decades to the destructive fiscal and monetary policies of Papandreou the elder, it was the farmers that kept on fueling the destruction they are suffering from today…
Self destructiveness all around…for decades…and now they throw tantrums in front of TV cameras, with no real expected outcome, instead of looking themselves in the mirror and vowing to stop sending the same “families” of politicians back to the throne of power…

And the farmers should demand …the removal of Mikstotakis and his government for supporting Economic Sanctions of the U.S and EU Parliament which have destroyed access to affordable oil and gas from the populist of Greece and Europe, and increased the operating costs of farmers and businesses of Greece which are putting them out of business , an have colluded with U.S . and EU parliament to interfere with the internal affairs of the government and Judicial System of Greece , Ukraine, Cyprus and Middle East which undermine the Traditional families values of the Orthodox Christian population of Greece, And they should demand the immediate removal of all US and Nato bases from Greece and Cyprus for aiding and abettng the genocide of Orthodox, Catholic , and Muslim faithful and Houses of worship of God in Palestine and Ukraine!
