The Biden administration with not one, but two letters from US Secretary of State Blinken to Congress on guarantees for the sale of F-16s to Turkey facilitates and authorizes it to permanently and fully challenge Greek sovereignty over islands, islets and rocky islets in the Aegean, with the Mitsotakis administration not having understood the A deadly/destructive trap for Greek sovereignty in the Aegean and opposition parties to be in criminal nirvana, which leads to the sharing of Greek sovereignty in the Aegean.

The letter on restrictions on the sale of F-16s to Turkey was presented as a Greek success because no one from the government or the relevant experts understood the phrase “internationally recognized sovereignty”. U.S. Secretary of State Blinken has sent Congress his first classified letter approving the sale of spare parts and new F-16s to Turkey, engaging Turkish F-16s with Greek F-35s “to maintain the balance of power.“

However, motivated by the US election campaign and the solicitation of votes by the Greek and Cypriot lobby, a group of US senators around Senator Bob Menendez and Greek-American officials demanded a second letter from Blinken to Congress, aimed at making clear Turkey’s commitments not to use F-16s against Greece.

This was the reason for the State Department, with the cooperation and assistance of the pro-Turkish Law Office of the US State Department, at this time, to formulate Blinken’s second letter to Congress, which gives Ankara the right and authorization for the US to fragment Greek sovereignty and all Greek national interests within the Athens FIR. A fact that allows Turkey to return to the era and actions of Imia 1996, with the Athens Declaration now seeming… rag paper.

Specifically, in this second letter Blinken states: “… If a NATO ally carries out repeated violations within the internationally recognized borders of another ally, the US will try to resolve the situation diplomatically. If the situation cannot be resolved through normal diplomatic channels, the United States will use additional political and economic tools to resolve the situation.”

With the elaborate term “internationally recognized borders” between NATO allies, in this case Greece and Turkey, the US is directly attacking Greek sovereignty over 10 nautical miles of national airspace in the Aegean, against Greekness and Greek sovereignty over the islets and rocky islets of the Aegean, while rendering the Athens FIR non-existent.

In other words, they offer yet another gift to Erdogan in his aspirations and claims against Greek sovereignty and interests in the Aegean, by openly and directly supporting Turkish positions at the expense of Greece. And, indeed, through an official letter to Congress, aimed at prohibiting Turkey from using at the expense of Greece the US-produced F-16s it will receive.

The secret document “cancels” the Athens FIR and the 10 miles of national airspace

It is noted that Blinken’s second letter:

  • First, it takes advantage of the fact that Greece, from the mouth of the Evros River to the east of Kastelorizo, has no contiguous maritime border with Turkey, only the median line between the Greek islands and coasts of Turkey.

But even this middle line is not agreed between Greece and Turkey – both through fault and because of Turkey’s aspirations. But between Samothrace and Lemnos, Limnos and Lesvos, Lesvos and Chios, Chios and Samos, Rhodes and Kastelorizo, etc. There are no Greek-Turkish borders, nor can they ever be determined, since the distances from the Turkish coast with the Greek islands are greater than the territorial waters of the two countries (6+6=12 n.m.) and there is no median line.

The American wording-Trojan horse, misleadingly presented as protection of Greek sovereignty, “within internationally recognized borders”, gives Turkey the right to enter the Aegean Sea with American F-16s uncontrollably through international airspace, e.g. between Lemnos and Lesvos and without submitting a flight plan, to sail in the international airspace of the Aegean, and to exit the international sea and the international airspace between Rhodes and Kastelorizo. thus having operational control (with all Turkish military air assets) over the entire international airspace of the Aegean and the Mediterranean.

This is because, according to and pursuant to Blinken’s letter, Turkey is not violating internationally recognized borders, since the international sea and international airspace are not recognized borders under international law. At the same time, as far as military aircraft – i.e. US-produced F-16s – are concerned, the Athens FIR, which is not a recognized border between Greece and Turkey, is also abolished.

  • Secondly, according to the Chicago Convention and the Law of the Sea, but also the statements of Mitsotakis – Gerapetritis that Greece has 6 nautical miles sovereignty, it turns out that the islands of Samothrace, Lemnos, Lesvos, Rhodes, Kastelorizo, etc. The 6 nautical miles have internationally recognized sovereignty, something that NATO accepts and implements.

Thus, with Blinken’s second letter, the airspace on the islands beyond 6 nautical miles (6-10 nautical miles) does not constitute internationally recognized Greek sovereignty, with the result that Turkish F-16s and UAVs can fly at 6-9 nautical miles from the islands, “shortening” Greek sovereignty, without any quid pro quo for the Mitsotakis government and much more for Greece.

  • Thirdly, Turkey’s disputes and claims against Greece, as an isolated and continuous event, and against Greece’s sovereignty and national interests, constitute a controlled and manageable problem. But they turn into a dangerous threat when the Mitsotakis government cannot legally – and, indeed, in an international context – support Greek sovereignty itself.

In particular, Turkey disputes Greekness over a large number of islets and rocky islets in the Aegean. He even sent a letter to the UN, questioning the sovereignty of islands, islets and rocky islets in the Aegean. However, the Mitsotakis government has been found to be incapable of ensuring the Greekness of islets and rocky islets in the Aegean.

This is evidenced by the fact that the Mitsotakis government sent to the UN a reply letter to Foreign Minister Dendias, in which it is stated that islets and rocky islets in the Aegean were ceded to Greece under the Treaties of Lausanne and Paris. However, nowhere in these two Treaties is it mentioned that the islets and rocky islets were ceded to Greece by the Treaties, nor do they even mention the words “islets” and “rocky islets”.

This fact constitutes a criminal indifference of the government to the detriment of Greek sovereignty, given that the islets and rocky islets, although they are very Greek, the government, either out of indifference or weakness or expediency (;), does not support them legally, with the result that the country becomes an international jealous and Greek sovereignty in the Aegean is reduced. This is because the Greekness of the islets is not mentioned in the Treaties, but in international conventions signed by Turkey, which, unfortunately, the government does not bother to identify, in order to ensure Greek sovereignty in the Aegean.

Based on the second letter, the U.S. government ensures Greek sovereignty from Turkish F-16s only from the Evros estuary to Didymoteicho, because there is a Greek-Turkish border there, recognizing internationally Greek sovereignty under the Treaty of Lausanne. From Evros to Kastelorizo, the US is putting the Aegean at Erdogan’s mercy, because there is no sovereignty in the international sea.

Blinken’s second letter on Greek sovereignty and national interests in the Aegean cannot come as a surprise, as it follows to the letter the Congressional Research Division’s Report on U.S.-Turkish relations in 2023. This wretched report, to which the Greek government did not react at all, officially characterizes Greek islands in the Aegean as non-Greek, but disputed, arguing that Turkish overflights do not violate Greek sovereignty over the islands, because they are not Greek, but disputed.

In the relevant Map of the Congress Report, which cites “Sunday democracy” as evidence for the Biden administration, as of 2023 the islands, islets and rocky islets are not Greek (in pink on the map):

  • In the region of Crete: Gavdos, Chrissi, Koufonissi, Zeus, Dragonada, Elassa.
  • In the region of Karpathos: Astakida, Zafora, Pachia, Makra.
  • As well as the islets and rocky islets of Stefania, Pontikousa, Giali, Imia, Pserimos, Lipsi, Farmakonisi, Arki, Agathonisi, Agrelousa, Octopus, Melambioi, Donoussa, Kalogeroi, Antipsara, Oinousses, Tzourafa and Strongili and Goose.

That is, 29 Greek islands, islets and rocky islets according to the Biden administration – and Turkey, at the same time – do not have Greek sovereignty, are disputed and stray, without ownership status, since they belong neither to Greece nor to Turkey.
And this second letter from Blinken to Congress is a second divine gift to Erdogan, who is “liberating” himself to fragment Greek sovereignty with the Biden administration’s bull.

Κερκόπορτα Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών για το Αιγαίο!

Η δεύτερη επιστολή Μπλίνκεν προς το Κογκρέσο διευκολύνει και εξυπηρετεί την Τουρκία να αμφισβητεί μόνιμα την ελληνική κυριαρχία σε νησιά και βραχονησίδες

Η κυβέρνηση Μπάιντεν με όχι μία, αλλά δύο επιστολές του Αμερικανού ΥΠΕΞ Μπλίνκεν προς το Κογκρέσο για τις εγγυήσεις πώλησης των F-16 στην Τουρκία τη διευκολύνει και  την εξουσιοδοτεί να αμφισβητεί μονίμως και πλήρως την ελληνική κυριαρχία σε νήσους, νησίδες και βραχονησίδες στο Αιγαίο, με την κυβέρνηση Μητσοτάκη να μην έχει αντιληφθεί τη θανάσιμη/καταστροφική παγίδα για την ελληνική κυριαρχία στο Αιγαίο και τα κόμματα της αντιπολίτευσης να βρίσκονται σε εγκληματική νιρβάνα, γεγονός που οδηγεί σε μοιρασιά της ελληνικής κυριαρχίας στο Αιγαίο.

Η επιστολή για τους περιορισμούς πώλησης των F-16 στην Τουρκία παρουσιάστηκε δημοσιογραφικά ως ελληνική επιτυχία, και τούτο διότι ουδείς από την κυβέρνηση ή τους αρμόδιους εμπειρογνώμονες κατάλαβε τη φράση «διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένη κυριαρχία». Ο Αμερικανός ΥΠΕΞ Μπλίνκεν απέστειλε στο Κογκρέσο την πρώτη απόρρητη επιστολή του για την έγκριση πώλησης ανταλλακτικών και νέων F-16 στην Τουρκία, εμπλέκοντας τα τουρκικά F-16 με τα ελληνικά F-35 «για τη διατήρηση της ισορροπίας δυνάμεων».

Ομως, με κίνητρο την προεκλογική περίοδο στις ΗΠΑ και την άγρα ψήφων του ελληνικού και κυπριακού λόμπι, ομάδα Αμερικανών γερουσιαστών πέριξ του γερουσιαστή Μπομπ Μενέντεζ και Ελληνοαμερικανών παραγόντων απαίτησαν και δεύτερη επιστολή Μπλίνκεν στο Κογκρέσο, με στόχο να φαίνονται καθαρά και ξάστερα οι δεσμεύσεις της Τουρκίας να μη χρησιμοποιήσει τα F-16 κατά της Ελλάδας.

Αυτή ήταν η αφορμή ώστε το Στέιτ Ντιπάρτμεντ, με τη συνεργασία και τη συνδρομή της φιλοτουρκικής Νομικής Υπηρεσίας του αμερικανικού Yπουργείου Εξωτερικών, την παρούσα περίοδο, να διατυπώσουν τη δεύτερη επιστολή Μπλίνκεν προς το Κογκρέσο, με την οποία δίνονται το δικαίωμα και η εξουσιοδότηση στην Αγκυρα από τις ΗΠΑ να κατακερματίζει την ελληνική κυριαρχία και όλα τα εθνικά ελληνικά συμφέροντα εντός του FIR Αθηνών. Γεγονός που επιτρέπει στην Τουρκία να επιστρέφει σε εποχή και πράξεις Ιμίων 1996, με τη Διακήρυξη των Αθηνών να φαντάζει πλέον… κουρελόχαρτο.

Συγκεκριμένα, σ’ αυτή τη δεύτερη επιστολή Μπλίνκεν αναφέρεται επί λέξει: «…Αν ένας σύμμαχος του ΝΑΤΟ πραγματοποιήσει επανειλημμένες παραβιάσεις εντός των διεθνών αναγνωρισμένων συνόρων άλλου συμμάχου, οι ΗΠΑ θα προσπαθήσουν να λύσουν διπλωματικά την κατάσταση. Αν η κατάσταση δεν μπορεί να επιλυθεί μέσω κανονικής διπλωματικής οδού, οι ΗΠΑ θα χρησιμοποιήσουν πρόσθετα πολιτικά και οικονομικά εργαλεία για την επίλυση της κατάστασης». Με τον περίτεχνο όρο «διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένα σύνορα» μεταξύ συμμάχων του ΝΑΤΟ, εν προκειμένω Ελλάδα και Τουρκία, οι ΗΠΑ βάλλουν ευθέως εναντίον της ελληνικής κυριαρχίας στα 10 ν.μ. του εθνικού εναερίου χώρου στο Αιγαίο, εναντίον της ελληνικότητας και της ελληνικής κυριαρχίας στις νησίδες και βραχονησίδες του Αιγαίου, ενώ καθιστούν ανύπαρκτο το FIR Αθηνών.

Προσφέρουν, δηλαδή, ακόμα ένα δώρο στον Ερντογάν, στις βλέψεις και διεκδικήσεις του εναντίον της ελληνικής κυριαρχίας και των ελληνικών συμφερόντων στο Αιγαίο, υποστηρίζοντας πλέον φανερά και ευθέως τις τουρκικές θέσεις σε βάρος της Ελλάδας. Και, μάλιστα, μέσω επίσημης επιστολής προς το Κογκρέσο, που στόχο είχε να απαγορεύσει στην Τουρκία να χρησιμοποιήσει σε βάρος της Ελλάδας τα αμερικανικής παραγωγής F-16 που θα παραλάβει.

Το απόρρητο έγγραφο «ακυρώνει» το FIR Αθηνών και τα 10 μίλια του εθνικού εναέριου χώρου

Σημειώνεται ότι η δεύτερη επιστολή Μπλίνκεν:

  • Πρώτον, εκμεταλλεύεται το γεγονός ότι η Ελλάδα από τις εκβολές του Εβρου μέχρι ανατολικά του Καστελόριζου δεν έχει συνεχόμενα θαλάσσια σύνορα με την Τουρκία, παρά μόνον τη μέση γραμμή μεταξύ των ελληνικών νησιών κι ακτών της Τουρκίας.

Αλλά ακόμα και αυτή η μέση γραμμή δεν είναι συμφωνημένη μεταξύ Ελλάδας και Τουρκίας – και λόγω υπαιτιότητας και λόγω βλέψεων της Τουρκίας. Μεταξύ, όμως, Σαμοθράκης και Λήμνου, Λήμνου και Λέσβου, Λέσβου και Χίου, Χίου και Σάμου, Ρόδου και Καστελόριζου κ.λπ. δεν υπάρχουν καθόλου ελληνοτουρκικά σύνορα, ούτε αυτά μπορούν να καθοριστούν ποτέ, δεδομένου ότι οι αποστάσεις από τις τουρκικές ακτές με τα ελληνικά νησιά είναι μεγαλύτερες των χωρικών υδάτων των δύο χωρών (6+6=12 ν.μ.) και δεν υπάρχει μέση γραμμή.

Με την αμερικανική διατύπωση-δούρειο ίππο, που παρουσιάζεται παραπλανητικώς ως προστασία της ελληνικής κυριαρχίας, «εντός διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένων συνόρων», παρέχεται το δικαίωμα στην Τουρκία να εισέρχεται με τα αμερικανικά F-16 ανεξέλεγκτα στο Αιγαίο μέσω διεθνούς εναέριου χώρου, π.χ. μεταξύ Λήμνου και Λέσβου και χωρίς κατάθεση σχεδίου πτήσης, να αλωνίζει στον διεθνή εναέριο χώρο του Αιγαίου, και να εξέρχεται από τη διεθνή θάλασσα και τον διεθνή εναέριο χώρο μεταξύ Ρόδου – Καστελόριζου, έχοντας έτσι τον επιχειρησιακό έλεγχο (με όλα τα τουρκικά στρατιωτικά αεροπορικά μέσα) στο σύνολο του διεθνούς εναερίου χώρου του Αιγαίου και της Μεσογείου.

Και τούτο διότι σύμφωνα με την επιστολή Μπλίνκεν και κατ’ εφαρμογή της επιστολής αυτής, η Τουρκία δεν παραβιάζει διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένα σύνορα, δεδομένου ότι η διεθνής θάλασσα και ο διεθνής εναέριος χώρος δεν αποτελούν βάσει του Διεθνούς Δικαίου αναγνωρισμένα σύνορα. Παράλληλα, όσον αφορά τα στρατιωτικά αεροσκάφη -ήτοι τα αμερικάνικης παραγωγής F-16- καταργείται και το FIR Αθηνών, το οποίο δεν αποτελεί αναγνωρισμένα σύνορα Ελλάδας – Τουρκίας.

  • Δεύτερον, σύμφωνα με τη Σύμβαση του Σικάγο και το Δίκαιο Θάλασσας, αλλά και τις δηλώσεις Μητσοτάκη – Γεραπετριτη ότι η Ελλάδα έχει 6 ν.μ. κυριαρχία, αποδεικνύεται ότι τα νησιά Σαμοθράκη, Λήμνος, Λέσβος, Ρόδος, Καστελόριζο κ.λπ. έχουν διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένη κυριαρχία τα 6 ν.μ., κάτι που αποδέχεται και εφαρμόζει και το ΝΑΤΟ.

Ετσι, με τη δεύτερη επιστολή Μπλίνκεν ο εναέριος χώρος στα νησιά πέραν των 6 ν.μ. ( 6-10 ν.μ.) δεν αποτελεί διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένη ελληνική κυριαρχία, με αποτέλεσμα να μπορούν τα τουρκικά F-16 και τα UAVs να πετάνε στα 6-9 ν.μ. από τα νησιά, «κονταίνοντας» την ελληνική κυριαρχία, χωρίς κανένα αντάλλαγμα για την κυβέρνηση Μητσοτάκη και πολύ περισσότερο για την Ελλάδα.

Τουρκικά F-16
  • Τρίτον, οι αμφισβητήσεις και οι διεκδικήσεις της Τουρκίας σε βάρος της Ελλάδας, ως μεμονωμένο και συνεχόμενο γεγονός, και σε βάρος της κυριαρχίας και των εθνικών συμφερόντων της Ελλάδας αποτελούν ελεγχόμενο και αντιμετωπίσιμο πρόβλημα. Μετατρέπονται, όμως, σε επικίνδυνη απειλή, όταν η κυβέρνηση Μητσοτάκη δεν μπορεί να υποστηρίξει νομικά -και, μάλιστα, σε διεθνές πλαίσιο- την ίδια την ελληνική κυριαρχία.

Συγκεκριμένα, η Τουρκία αμφισβητεί την ελληνικότητα σε μεγάλο αριθμό νησίδων και βραχονησίδων στο Αιγαίο. Εστειλε, μάλιστα, και επιστολή στον ΟΗΕ, με την οποία αμφισβητεί την κυριαρχία σε νησιά, νησίδες και βραχονησίδες στο Αιγαίο. Ωστόσο, η κυβέρνηση Μητσοτάκη έχει διαπιστωθεί ότι είναι ανίκανη να διασφαλίσει την ελληνικότητα νησίδων και βραχονησίδων στο Αιγαίο.

Αυτό αποδεικνύεται από το γεγονός ότι η κυβέρνηση Μητσοτάκη απέστειλε στον ΟΗΕ απαντητική επιστολή επί υπουργίας ΥΠΕΞ Δένδια, στην οποία αναγράφεται ότι νησίδες και βραχονησίδες στο Αιγαίο παραχωρήθηκαν στην Ελλάδα με τις Συνθήκες Λωζάννης και Παρισίων. Ομως, στις δυο αυτές Συνθήκες πουθενά δεν αναγράφεται ότι οι νησίδες και οι βραχονησίδες παραχωρήθηκαν στην Ελλάδα με τις Συνθήκες, ούτε καν αναγράφουν τις λέξεις «νησίδες» και «βραχονησίδες».

Το γεγονός αυτό αποτελεί εγκληματική αδιαφορία της κυβέρνησης σε βάρος της ελληνικής κυριαρχίας, δεδομένου ότι οι νησίδες και οι βραχονησίδες, μολονότι είναι ελληνικότατες, η κυβέρνηση, είτε από αδιαφορία είτε από αδυναμία ή από σκοπιμότητα (;), δεν τις υποστηρίζει νομικά, με αποτέλεσμα η χώρα να γίνεται διεθνώς ρεζίλι και να μειώνεται η ελληνική κυριαρχία στο Αιγαίο. Και τούτο διότι η ελληνικότητα των βραχονησίδων δεν αναγράφεται στις Συνθήκες, αλλά σε διεθνείς συβάσεις με την υπογραφή της Τουρκίας, τις οποίες, δυστυχώς, η κυβέρνηση δεν μπαίνει στον κόπο να εντοπίσει, για να διασφαλίσει την ελληνική κυριαρχία στο Αιγαίο.

Με βάση τη δεύτερη επιστολή, η κυβέρνηση των ΗΠΑ διασφαλίζει την ελληνική κυριαρχία από τα τουρκικά F-16 μόνον από τις εκβολές του Εβρου μέχρι το Διδυμότειχο, διότι εκεί υπάρχουν ελληνοτουρκικά σύνορα, αναγνωρίζοντας διεθνώς την ελληνική κυριαρχία με βάση τη Συνθήκη της Λωζάννης. Από τον Εβρο μέχρι το Καστελόριζο, οι ΗΠΑ θέτουν το Αιγαίο στο έλεος του Ερντογάν, διότι στη διεθνή θάλασσα δεν υπάρχει κυριαρχία.

Τουρκικό UAV

Η δεύτερη επιστολή Μπλίνκεν «καρμανιόλα» για την ελληνική κυριαρχία κι τα εθνικά συμφέροντα στο Αιγαίο δεν μπορεί να αποτελεί έκπληξη, καθώς ακολουθεί κατά γράμμα την Εκθεση της Διεύθυνσης Ερευνών του Κογκρέσου για τις αμερικανοτουρκικές σχέσεις το 2023. Η ελεεινή αυτή Εκθεση, στην οποία η ελληνική κυβέρνηση ουδόλως αντέδρασε, χαρακτηρίζει επισήμως ελληνικά νησιά του Αιγαίου ως μη ελληνικά, αλλά διαφιλονικούμενα, υποστηρίζοντας ότι οι τουρκικές υπερπτήσεις δεν παραβιάζουν ελληνική κυριαρχία στα νησιά, διότι αυτά δεν είναι ελληνικά, αλλά διαφιλονικούμενα.

Στον σχετικό Χάρτη της Εκθεσης του Κογκρέσου, που παραθέτει η «κυριακάτικη δημοκρατία» ως τεκμήριο για την κυβέρνηση Μπάιντεν, από το 2023 δεν είναι ελληνικά (με ροζ χρώμα στον Χάρτη) τα νησιά, νησίδες και βραχονησίδες:

  • Στην περιοχή της Κρήτης: Γαύδος, Χρυσή, Κουφονήσι, Δία, Δραγονάδα, Ελάσσα.
  • Στην περιοχή της Καρπάθου: Αστακίδα, Ζαφορά, Παχεία, Μακρά.
  • Καθώς και οι νησίδες και βραχονησίδες Στεφανία, Ποντικούσα, Γιαλί, Ιμια, Ψέριμος, Λειψοί, Φαρμακονήσι, Αρκιοί, Αγαθονήσι, Αγρελούσα, Χταπόδια, Μελαμπιοί, Δονούσα, Καλόγεροι, Αντίψαρα, Οινούσες, Τζουράφα, Στρογγύλη και Χήνα.

Ητοι, 29 ελληνικά νησιά, νησίδες και βραχονησίδες κατά την κυβέρνηση Μπάιντεν -και την Τουρκία, παράλληλα- δεν έχουν ελληνική κυριαρχία, είναι διαφιλονικούμενα και αδέσποτα, χωρίς ιδιοκτησιακό καθεστώς, αφού δεν ανήκουν ούτε στην Ελλάδα ούτε στην Τουρκία. Και αυτή η δεύτερη επιστολή Μπλίνκεν στο Κογκρέσο αποτελεί ένα δεύτερο θείο δώρο στον Ερντογάν, ο οποίος «απελευθερώνεται» ώστε να κατακερματίζει την ελληνική κυριαρχία με τη βούλα της κυβέρνησης Μπάιντεν.

Στον χάρτη της Έκθεσης του Αμερικανικού Κογκρέσου 29 νησιά μας έχουν ροζ χρώμα και χαρακτηρίζονται διαφιλονικούμενα. Στον ίδιο χάρτη βλέπουμε τις σχεδόν καθημερινές παραβιάσεις της ελληνικής κυριαρχίας από τα τουρκικά UAVs
