A few hours ago today, the Ukrainian Presidency officially announced that they had agreed and would sign a “bilateral security agreement”!! (link here for the official announcement). Anyone understands that this goes contrary to Greece’s national interests, and it eliminates any chance that there will be a new diplomatic opening with Russia. At the same time, it opens the road for direct attacks on the many military facilities in Greece, Greek or American.
A few weeks ago, when British officials hinted that they would give Ukraine British missiles to hit Russian territories, the British Ambassador in Moscow was called to the Foreign Ministry, and it was explained to him in no uncertain terms that if this happens, “gloves are off and Russia would reciprocate equivocally.” This was interpreted by diplomatic sources in London as a clear warning that the British Sovereign Bases in Cyprus are now a target!! I remind our readers that the Russian hypersonic missiles can reach any place in Greece and the whole Eastern Mediterranean from the Black Sea – they do not need to be carried by fighter jets!!

This is not information, nor is it a scenario. It is an official announcement of the presidency of Ukraine, the office of Volodymyr Zelensky.
Kyiv, as it has done in the past, “nails” Kyriakos Mitsotakis for secret defense agreements, when the Prime Minister had the audacity to deny it.
However, as always, she is irreparably exposed. The limits of national indulgence have now faded dangerously…
What was announced today from Kiev?
Ukraine and Greece will sign a “security agreement” in the near future, a move that will disperse even the crumbs of Greek-Russian relations that were left, demonstrating once again Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s criminal foreign policy.

Kiev speaks of Greece’s “comprehensive assistance” to Ukraine and calls for “further strengthening of this assistance based on the current needs of Ukrainian combatants.”
What exactly he means by “further aid” and what Greece will have to concede again, remains to be seen…
The announcement of the Ukrainian presidency:
Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Ihor Zhovkva, had a meeting with the Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic for Ukraine, Spyridon Lampridis.
Ihor Zhovkva thanked Greece for its consistent support and significant comprehensive assistance to our country, including defense assistance, since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.
He also stressed the importance of further strengthening this assistance based on the current needs of Ukrainian fighters.
The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office acknowledged Greece’s support for the Ukrainian Peace Formula and its active participation in the implementation of its specific points.
The parties also discussed preparations for the inaugural Peace Summit in Switzerland, in particular joint efforts to involve the countries of the Global South in the work of the Summit.
During the meeting, the interlocutors agreed to complete negotiations on a bilateral security agreement so that Ukraine and Greece could sign it in the near future.
Ihor Zhovkva also noted the importance of supporting Greece in starting negotiations for our country’s EU membership and its approach to NATO membership.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. During the conversation the Prime Minister reiterated that Greece will continue to support Ukraine.
Following the decisions of the European Council last December, Kyriakos Mitsotakis reaffirmed Greece’s support for Ukraine’s European path and the convening of the EU-Ukraine Intergovernmental Conference next June, which will mark the official start of Ukraine’s accession negotiations with the EU.
The Prime Minister accepted the official invitation addressed to him by Mr. Zelenskyy to participate in the Conference on Peace in Ukraine that will take place on June 15 and 16 in Switzerland.

Το Κίεβο, όπως έχει κάνει άλλωστε και στο παρελθόν, «καρφώνει» τον Κυριάκο Μητσοτάκη για μυστικές αμυντικές συμφωνίες, όταν ο Πρωθυπουργός είχε το θράσος να διαψεύδει.
Όπως κάθε φορά όμως, έτσι και αυτή, εκτίθεται ανεπανόρθωτα. Τα όρια της εθνικής μειοδοσίας πια, έχουν ξεθωριάσει επικίνδυνα…
Τι ανακοινώθηκε σήμερα από το Κίεβο;
Ότι η Ουκρανία και η Ελλάδα θα υπογράψουν «συμφωνία ασφαλείας» στο εγγύς μέλλον, σε μια κίνηση που θα «τινάξει στο αέρα» ακόμα και τα… ψίχουλα των ελληνορωσικών σχέσεων που είχαν απομείνει, καταδεικνύοντας για μία ακόμη φορά την εγκληματική εξωτερική πολιτική του Κυριάκου Μητσοτάκη.
Μια πολιτική που είναι απόλυτα υποταγμένη στη Δύση και δη στις ΗΠΑ, μια πολιτική που συντρίβει τις εθνικές γραμμές και τις παραδοσιακές συμμαχίες της Ελλάδας (βλέπε και Σερβία εκτός από τη Ρωσία), μια πολιτική που οδηγεί τη χώρα μας στην ανυπαρξία και τη διπλωματική εξαφάνιση.
Η προσωπική στρατηγική του Κυριάκου Μητσοτάκη στην εξωτερική πολιτική της Ελλάδας όχι μόνο δεν αφήνει «αποτύπωμα», όπως φαντασιώνονται όλοι στο Μαξίμου και κυρίως ο Πρωθυπουργός, αλλά αντίθετα, οδηγεί με μαθηματική ακρίβεια στην γεωπολιτική καταστροφή.
Το Κίεβο μιλά για «ολοκληρωμένη βοήθεια» της Ελλάδας προς την Ουκρανία και καλεί σε «περαιτέρω ενίσχυση αυτής της βοήθειας με βάση τις τρέχουσες ανάγκες των Ουκρανών πολεμιστών».
Το τι ακριβώς εννοεί με την «περαιτέρω ενίσχυση» και τι θα πρέπει να παραχωρήσει πάλι η Ελλάδα, μένει να φανεί…
- Η ανακοίνωση της ουκρανικής προεδρίας:
Συνάντηση με τον Ειδικό Απεσταλμένο του Υπουργείου Εξωτερικών της Ελληνικής Δημοκρατίας για την Ουκρανία, Σπυρίδωνα Λαμπρίδη, είχε ο αναπληρωτής επικεφαλής του γραφείου του Προέδρου, Ihor Zhovkva.
Ο Ihor Zhovkva ευχαρίστησε την Ελλάδα για τη συνεπή υποστήριξή της και τη σημαντική ολοκληρωμένη βοήθειά της προς τη χώρα μας, συμπεριλαμβανομένης της αμυντικής βοήθειας, από την αρχή της ρωσικής εισβολής πλήρους κλίμακας.
Τόνισε επίσης τη σημασία της περαιτέρω ενίσχυσης αυτής της βοήθειας με βάση τις τρέχουσες ανάγκες των Ουκρανών πολεμιστών.
Ο Αναπληρωτής Επικεφαλής του Προεδρικού Γραφείου αναγνώρισε την υποστήριξη της Ελλάδας στην Ουκρανική Φόρμουλα Ειρήνης και την ενεργό συμμετοχή της στην υλοποίηση των συγκεκριμένων σημείων της.
Τα μέρη συζήτησαν επίσης τις προετοιμασίες για την εναρκτήρια Σύνοδο Ειρήνης στην Ελβετία, ιδίως τις κοινές προσπάθειες για τη συμμετοχή των χωρών του Παγκόσμιου Νότου στις εργασίες της Συνόδου Κορυφής.
Κατά τη συνάντηση, οι συνομιλητές συμφώνησαν να ολοκληρωθούν οι διαπραγματεύσεις για μια διμερή συμφωνία ασφαλείας, ώστε η Ουκρανία και η Ελλάδα να την υπογράψουν στο εγγύς μέλλον.
Ο Ihor Zhovkva σημείωσε επίσης τη σημασία της υποστήριξης της Ελλάδας στην έναρξη των διαπραγματεύσεων για την ένταξη της χώρας μας στην ΕΕ και την προσέγγισή της για ένταξη στο ΝΑΤΟ.

Υπό το κλίμα αυτό, δεν είναι καθόλου περίεργο που το Μαξίμου έσπευσε να ενημερώσει για την τηλεφωνική συνομιλία που είχαν σήμερα ο Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης με τον Βολοντιμίρ Ζελένσκι.
Ο Έλληνας Πρωθυπουργός επανέλαβε και διαβεβαίωσε τον Ουκρανό Πρόεδρο, ότι η Ελλάδα θα συνεχίσει να στηρίζει το Κίεβο…
- Η ανακοίνωση του Μαξίμου:
Ο Πρωθυπουργός Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης είχε τηλεφωνική επικοινωνία με τον Πρόεδρο της Ουκρανίας Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της συνομιλίας ο Πρωθυπουργός επανέλαβε ότι η Ελλάδα θα συνεχίσει να στηρίζει την Ουκρανία.
Σε συνέχεια των αποφάσεων του Ευρωπαϊκού Συμβουλίου του περασμένου Δεκεμβρίου, ο Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης επαναβεβαίωσε την στήριξη της Ελλάδας στην ευρωπαϊκή πορεία της Ουκρανίας και στη σύγκληση Διακυβερνητικής Διάσκεψης ΕΕ – Ουκρανίας τον ερχόμενο Ιούνιο, η οποία και θα σηματοδοτήσει την επίσημη έναρξη των ενταξιακών διαπραγματεύσεων της Ουκρανίας με την ΕΕ.
O Πρωθυπουργός αποδέχθηκε την επίσημη πρόσκληση που του απηύθυνε ο κ. Zelenskyy να συμμετάσχει στην Διάσκεψη για την Ειρήνη στην Ουκρανία που θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 15 και 16 Ιουνίου στην Ελβετία.
- Η ανάρτηση του Βολοντιμίρ Ζελένσκι για τη συνομιλία:
Μίλησα με τον Έλληνα Πρωθυπουργό Κυριάκο Μητσοτάκη για την επικείμενη Σύνοδο Ειρήνης και τον ευχαρίστησα που επιβεβαίωσε τη συμμετοχή του.
Συζητήσαμε επίσης τις προσπάθειες να ενθαρρύνουμε όσο το δυνατόν περισσότερες χώρες να συμμετάσχουν.
Η Ουκρανία έχει την πλήρη υποστήριξη της Ελλάδας για την έναρξη των ενταξιακών συνομιλιών στην ΕΕ τον Ιούνιο. Συνεχίζουμε επίσης να εργαζόμαστε για μια διμερή συμφωνία ασφάλειας που βασίζεται στη Διακήρυξη του Βίλνιους της G7.

John, Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Some pronounce their opinions a bit more strongly than others but you also have the right for a rebuttal. I have to admit that sometimes it is challenging for me to keep the exchanges within certain limits. But having the debate is worth the trouble. But in terms of “leaving” you don’t have many choices.
