Finally, someone was found in Greece to put the German President, Mr. Steimeier, who had the gall to say in front of the President of Greece, Mrs. Sakellaopoulou, that “the issue of reparations for the WWII German atrocities was legally solved” to his rightful place. This person was the Cretan Metropolitan OF Kissamos and Selinon, Amphilohios… In his 7′ speech, he referred to a Cretan Metropolitan who collected the bones of the deceased German soldiers in a monastery until a German cemetery was finally built. And to a Cretan woman lighting candles for them “because they had mothers who could not do it.” “This is the soul of Crete!!” cried Amphilohios as Steinmeier was a few feet away… He continued, asking the German president why the Germans were so soulless when the time came in 2012 to show that they could help Greece avoid the giant debt load – for much of which the country was not responsible… Enjoy the 7-min video below:
Since my roots are in Crete, I had the chance to visit Kandanos a few years ago. I was appalled at the sight of the plaque in German and in Greek, put in place by the Nazis after the barbarians leveled the village killing many of its residents because of their fierce resistance: “Here Stood Kandanos. It was destroyed in revenge for the killing of 25 German soldiers”!!! Kandanos was only one of the villages in Crete leveled by the Germans and only one of the 300 towns and villages in Greece destroyed by them…
I will close these remarks by noting that Mrs. Dora Bakoyianni, PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ sister and former foreign minister of Greece, was in attendance. She was seen speaking to Mr.Steinmeier in German. Her father, the late Constantine Mitsotakis, a lawyer fluent in German, was an interpreter for the Gestapo during WWII in Chania, Crete. He tried in every way possible to hide all evidence that he collaborated with the Germans – but he was unable to. After the war, it was known that he maintained steady relations with the German establishment as he was developing his ties to the American Deep State. Some years ago, when the giant scandal of briberies by the German multinational SIEMENS broke in Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis WAS PROVEN to have received “gifts” from Siemens… I leave the comments to you!…

The metropolitan who humiliated Steinmeier
The President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, remained silent in the face of Steinmeier ‘s cynicism , when the German president declared, with the audacity of a judge, that the return of those stolen from the state he represents is not going to happen . The biography of Metropolitan Kissamos and Selinos
Metropolitan Amfilochios Andronikakis was born in Chania in 1964, where he finished school and then attended the Theological School of the University of Thessaloniki, from where he received his degree in 1987. He became a monk at the Immaculate Conception of Panagia Odigetria Gonia Kolymvari in 1990. the same year he was ordained a deacon, in 1992 an elder and immediately after he was awarded the office of archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne.
In 1993 he was in Britain as priestly superior in I.N. St. Nikolaou Cardiff and completed post-graduate studies at the city’s university, from which he received a master’s degree in 1995. In 1997, he was appointed by Irenaios Galanakis vicar in Platanos Kissamos and protosegelo of I.M. Kissamos and Selinos. He taught in secondary schools in Kissamos and from 2003 to 2005 he was the headmaster of the Ecclesiastical School of Crete. On October 4, 2005, he was elected metropolitan of Kissamos and Selinos, and has remained the head of the metropolis ever since.

Ο μητροπολίτης που ταπείνωσε τον Σταϊνμάιερ
Η Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας Κατερίνα Σακελλαροπούλου σιώπησε μπροστά στον κυνισμό του Σταϊνμάιερ, όταν ο Γερμανός πρόεδρος απεφάνθη, με θράσος… δικαστή, πως δεν πρόκειται να γίνει η επιστροφή των κλεμμένων από το κράτος που εκπροσωπεί. Στο ίδιο μήκος κύματος η ελληνική κυβέρνηση, διά των Σκέρτσων της, προσπαθεί τόσα χρόνια να μας πείσει ότι οι γερμανικές θηριωδίες στον Β’ Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο είναι πια πολύ πίσω μας χρονικά και «πρέπει να κοιτάξουμε μπροστά».

Χρειάστηκε ένας Χανιώτης ιερωμένος για να υπερασπιστεί τους επιζώντες, τους συγγενείς τους και την τιμή της χώρας, κάτι που δεν έκανε ακόμα μία φορά η φοβική πολιτική ηγεσία του τόπου. Ο μητροπολίτης Κισσάμου και Σελίνου στάθηκε αγέρωχος απέναντι ακριβώς από τον Γερμανό πρόεδρο. Τον κοιτούσε ευθεία στα μάτια, όσο ο Σταϊνμάιερ αναψοκοκκίνιζε χαμηλώνοντας το βλέμμα από την ντροπή για τα εγκλήματα των ομοεθνών του.
Στα περίπου εφτά λεπτά ο Αμφιλόχιος «πυροβολούσε» λέξεις. Μιλώντας όχι μόνο για το μαύρο παρελθόν της Γερμανίας για όσα υπέφεραν η Κάντανος, η Κρήτη ολόκληρη, η Ελλάδα. Αλλά και για τα χρόνια του Μνημονίου, με τη μισαλλόδοξη στάση της Μέρκελ, του Σόιμπλε και της γερμανικής ηγεσίας.
«Το 1974 ο τότε μητροπολίτης της περιοχής εδώ, Ειρηναίος Γαλανάκης, πήρε πρωτοβουλία να φιλοξενήσει τα οστά των Γερμανών στρατιωτών στον Β’ Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο σε ένα ιστορικό μοναστήρι. Τα φιλοξένησε μέχρι να δημιουργηθεί το γερμανικό νεκροταφείο. Αυτή είναι η ψυχή της Κρήτης, η οποία ξέρει να ανοίγεται ακόμα και σ’ αυτούς που στέρησαν τα παιδιά της. Θα περίμενε η κρητική ψυχή να έχει από τη χώρα σας την ίδια μεγαλοσύνη» είπε ο Αμφιλόχιος και συνέχισε αμέσως μετά:
«Η χώρα σας όχι μόνο δεν συμπαραστάθηκε στη χώρα μας τα δύσκολα χρόνια των Μνημονίων, αλλά την έσπρωξαν οι ηγέτες της χώρας σας στο ΔΝΤ, με αποτέλεσμα η Ελλάδα να περάσει τα δεινά που πέρασε. Ενώ το ΔΝΤ είναι γνωστό ότι είναι ένας θεσμός που αφορά τις χώρες του Τρίτου Κόσμου, όχι τις ευρωπαϊκές. Επειδή στην παρουσία σας στην Πρόεδρο της Ελληνικής Δημοκρατίας, που θα περιμέναμε να είναι εδώ σήμερα ανάμεσά μας, είπατε ότι είσαστε δεσμευμένοι στην ιστορική σας ευθύνη, θα μου επιτρέψετε με εκτίμηση και σεβασμό, διότι η Κρήτη ξέρει να σέβεται και να εκτιμά τους φιλοξενούμενούς της και τους θεωρεί δικούς της ανθρώπους, να σας πω ότι οι γερμανικές αποζημιώσεις και το κατοχικό δάνειο δεν είναι μια υπόθεση που κλείνει και ένα νομικό ζήτημα, αλλά είναι μια δέσμευση ιστορικής ευθύνης της χώρας σας και είναι εθνική επιταγή».
Και ολοκλήρωσε μέσα σε θερμό χειροκρότημα: «Από εδώ, από την Κάντανο, οφείλουμε να το διακηρύξουμε με στεντόρεια φωνή, και το λέμε σε εσάς, τον πρώτο πολίτη της Γερμανίας, ότι αυτήν την ιστορική ευθύνη, που λέτε πως έχετε δέσμευση, να την κάνετε πράξη. Προϋπόθεση είναι η δικαίωση σε ό,τι αφορά και το κατοχικό δάνειο αλλά και σε ό,τι αφορά τις γερμανικές αποζημιώσεις (σ.σ.: ο κόσμος φώναζε «Μπράβο, μπράβο» σ’ αυτό το σημείο). Έχουμε τη βεβαιότητα πως η παρουσία σας εδώ θα σηματοδοτήσει την απαρχή γι’ αυτήν τη δικαίωση σε ό,τι αφορά το δίκαιο αίτημα των γερμανικών αποζημιώσεων και του κατοχικού δανείου».Ο Αμφιλόχιος είναι ο μοναδικός, πέραν των επιζώντων, των συγγενών και των κατοίκων της περιοχής, που στάθηκε στο ύψος του κατά τη διάρκεια της τριήμερης επίσκεψης του Σταϊνμάιερ στην Ελλάδα. Για τον Γερμανό πρόεδρο αυτά τα εφτά λεπτά του μητροπολίτη αποτέλεσαν ίσως την πιο πικρή εμπειρία της θητείας του από το 2017.
Ήρθε πρόσωπο με πρόσωπο πρώτη φορά στη ζωή του με αυτούς που ο γερμανικός στρατός θέλησε να καταστρέψει πριν από μερικές δεκαετίες. Που σκότωσε τους γονείς τους ή που βασάνισε όσους ζουν έως σήμερα. Και που όλα αυτά τα χρόνια οι γερμανικές ηγεσίες κράτους αρνούνται να αποδεχτούν, εμπράκτως, ως ευθύνες τους.
Ο μητροπολίτης καυτηρίασε την απουσία της Σακελλαροπούλου, αναφέρθηκε στην άρνηση του Γερμανού να συζητήσει για τις αποζημιώσεις ενώπιον της Ελληνίδας Προέδρου και απάντησε.
Όμως, ο Αμφιλόχιος έκανε ένα βήμα ακόμα πιο μπροστά: Μιλώντας για μία και ενιαία Γερμανία. Με την ίδια ιστορία, με το ίδιο κράτος και τον ίδιο -δήθεν εξαπατημένο- λαό, που κάποτε ψήφισε με 44% τον Χίτλερ για να σφάξει τον πλανήτη. Για μια Γερμανία που κάποτε έκαιγε χωριά, χώρες και ανθρώπους, αλλά και που σήμερα καταδικάζει με τη βία της ισχύος πιο αδύναμες χώρες, όπως η Ελλάδα, στη φτωχοποίηση, μέσα από το άσβεστο μίσος ατόμων σαν τον Σόιμπλε. Είναι ακριβώς αυτό το λεπτό σημείο το οποίο οι άσχετοι Σκέρτσοι του Μαξίμου, οι πρωθυπουργοί τους και οι μιντιακοί τους τελάληδες «δυσκολεύονται» να συνδέσουν. Πάντα βολικά για τη Γερμανία, τη μοναδική χώρα σε όλον τον κόσμο που με όσα έχει κάνει εναντίον της ανθρωπότητας δεν θα αποκτήσει ποτέ το δικαίωμα να κουνήσει το δάχτυλο σε κανέναν.
Το βιογραφικό του μητροπολίτη Κισσάμου και Σελίνου
Ο μητροπολίτης Αμφιλόχιος Ανδρονικάκης γεννήθηκε στα Χανιά το 1964, όπου τελείωσε το σχολείο και στη συνέχεια φοίτησε στη Θεολογική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης, απ’ όπου έλαβε το πτυχίο του το 1987. Εκάρη μοναχός στην Ι. Μ. Παναγίας Οδηγήτριας Γωνιάς Κολυμβαρίου το 1990. Το ίδιο έτος χειροτονήθηκε διάκονος, το 1992 πρεσβύτερος και αμέσως μετά του απονεμήθηκε το οφίκιο του αρχιμανδρίτη του Οικουμενικού Θρόνου.
Το 1993 βρέθηκε στη Βρετανία ως ιερατικός προϊστάμενος στον Ι.Ν. Αγ. Νικολάου Κάρντιφ και πραγματοποίησε μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές στο πανεπιστήμιο της πόλης, από το οποίο έλαβε master το 1995. Το 1997 διορίστηκε από τον Ειρηναίο Γαλανάκη εφημέριος στον Πλάτανο Κισσάμου και πρωτοσύγκελος της Ι.Μ. Κισσάμου και Σελίνου. Δίδαξε σε σχολεία της μέσης εκπαίδευσης στην Κίσσαμο και από το 2003 έως το 2005 διετέλεσε σχολάρχης της Εκκλησιαστικής Σχολής Κρήτης. Την 4η Οκτωβρίου 2005 εξελέγη μητροπολίτης Κισάμου και Σελίνου, και έκτοτε παραμένει επικεφαλής της μητρόπολης.

The bishop should be congratulated. His speech was respectful but at the same time very stinging to German ears. I hope Steinmeir knew what was being said. It is very frustrating though, because nothing will be accomplished. First of all, we can’t expect Stenmeir to open his wallet and pay the reparations himself. And also, what will not happen is that he”ll go to Germany and tell the minister of finance to write a check. Things just don’t happen that way. Only if we have legal standing, then, Germany should be taken to court. Appealing to the “goodness” of a nation will not provide the desired outcome.
I’m sure Steinmeir came prepared for the Greeks’ appeals. The same issue was raised by every Greek premier, since Karamanlis the elder signed that Germany was absolved. Showing contrition for the Nazi atrocities has been part of the German political scene since 1945. It comes with the job of president of Germany. And he had his reply ready. The fact that he was having dinner at the presidential palace did not mean a thing. What could the Greeks do? yell at him and throw him out?
Talking about legal standing, an Italian Court issued a very favorable order for the Greek demands, an order that is waiting in the drawers of several Greek ministers for many years. Such is the nature of Greek politicians – bending over backwards to serve foreign interests…
Its easy for us to blame Greek politicians for not being assertive enough. But consider the option they have. There aren’t many and the ones that are viable and enforceable are unpalatable
Even a court order won’t force a nation to hand over assets. Its voluntary. Greece can’t start a war to collect what’s owed. The court doesn’t have a sheriff to send and forcefully extricate the amount owed the only option left for Greece would be to take over German State property in Greece. Of course, they can’t touch the Germany embassy building. Neither can they touch private Companies doing business in Greece. They can’t take hostage German tourists. The only option is to take over German archeological installations and German museums or schools in Greece. But can you imagine the bad press Greece would get.
Bob don’t try to fool yourself and the rest of us: Constantine Mitsotakis was a Gestapo interpreter and Kyriakos Mitsotakis received bribes from Siemens… Many others were proved to be on the take by the Germans. Did you know that Germany made bribing foreign officials legal a couple of decades ago? You see, you are learning things every day by reading Helleniscope..

Even if what you’re accusing the Mitsotakis are true, it has nothing to do with reparations. Siemens bribing is to gain access to markets. Not to shut down reparations. Moreover, the reparations issue has been going on since 1947. I know you have a beef with Mitsotakis and you relish piling up on him. What about the other prime ministers?
Besides, Greece is not the only country that is still demanding reparations and not getting any. Poland is in the same boat as Greece. Even Italy, which was part of the AXIS until 1943, has reparation demands from Germany that are still not satisfied. Great Britain decided not to accept any reparations, to avoid a repeat of the aftermath of WWI, even though they sustained severe damages and were in hock to America.
You are making the best arguments against yourself – it’s truly amazing! I just told you that the German legislature passed a law allowing bribery of foreign officials and you think that these bribing corporations will not promote German interests? P-lease… Especially if there are many countries who have claims…
