On Good Friday, an LGBT film festival to open in Kyiv
The film screenings feature movies from the state television and radio company “Suspilne”.
On Good Friday, April 18, 2025, the LGBT film festival SUNNY BUNNY will open in Kyiv, writes Hromadske.
It will take place on Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter, and during the Bright Week. According to the organizers, the goal of the festival is to “become a significant representative of the Ukrainian and international LGBT community, ещ play a notable role in political and social representation, and catalyze changes towards equality in Ukrainian society.”
The festival’s objectives include “establishing and expanding creative contacts among filmmakers; integrating Ukrainian films into the global film process and industry, promoting works by Ukrainian filmmakers with LGBT themes.”
Additionally, the festival will feature lectures on the specifics of holding gay parades in Ukraine, the fight for employment for homosexuals, and other similar topics. Suspilne proudly announced that two films from this state television company will be presented at SUNNY BUNNY.
Earlier, teh UOJ reported that Ukraine will pay 400 thousand hryvnias to a transgender person from Odesa for moral damages.
Yikes! As bad as this is, I’m kind of wondering how they can hold such an event when their country is at war, and the Russians are on their very doorstep. It almost looks like more smoke and mirrors.
Nothing says “I’ve got your back brother” more than a gay film festival!!
