Zohran Mamdani’s Victory Was Enabled By the Failures of American Elites

If you want to know why Zohran Mamdani, a foreign-born extreme leftist (if you judge by his declared agenda, a communist), won the Democratic primary for NYC Mayor against such well-known names as former Governor Andrew Cuomo, you have to go back to June 4 and listen to a significant part of it:

In the lightning round, moderators posed the question: “Do you think Israel has a right to exist?” and “Would you visit Israel as mayor?”  Zohran Mamdani affirmed Israel’s right to exist as a state with equal rights for all its citizens, but he stopped short of endorsing it as a “Jewish state” specifically. He also said he might not visit Israel, instead focusing on building relationships with Jewish New Yorkers. This answer drew sharp criticism from rivals like Andrew Cuomo, who accused Mamdani of failing to affirm Israel’s existence as a Jewish nation fully and suggested he was unwilling to visit Israel.

His political charisma is as evident as his opponents’ lack of imagination and independence…  But there are other factors underlying his rise in politics.

• First among them is the uncontrolled power of the Jewish Lobbies across the country, which has exceeded any reasonable measure, and it has now started to hurt them.  We have now spent seven or more decades of overselling the holocaust catastrophe. We have also spent three decades fighting Israel’s supremacy wars, sacrificing America’s interests and America’s children, and every international law and morality principle in existence.  A critical turning point was Madeleine Albright’s 1996 interview, where she found the killing of 500,000 Iraqi children “justifiable”…  Don’t you think there is a direct connection to today’s Gaza children? The chickens have come home to roost—for American and Jewish exceptionalists and supremacists, and for the rest of the Judeo-Christian ideologues who’ve long used moral posturing to justify imperial power and selective empathy. This was never going to end cleanly. The ideological framework that elevated one people’s “special relationship” with God into a foreign policy doctrine has been stretched to its breaking point. Now, amid global disillusionment and multipolar realignment, we’re seeing the cracks appear publicly—even in local politics.

But Mamdani isn’t the real problem for the political class. He’s a symptom. A sign that the neoliberal consensus, which merges imperial allegiance with identity-based exceptionalism, is no longer uncontested. That frightens the “globalist” class—the same architects of the “you will own nothing and be happy” ideology. Mamdani himself may still play within those elite boundaries, a puppet constrained by systemic pressures, but the mere fact that a candidate with his views has a platform at all signals a paradigm shift.

Here’s a short and sweet summary of Zohran Mamdani’s NYC mayoral platform:

• Housing: Rent freeze + 200,000 new permanently affordable homes.

• Transit: Free citywide buses, expanded service.

• Childcare & Education: Universal free childcare + tuition-free CUNY.

• Food Access: City-owned grocery stores for low-cost staples.

• Public Safety: Mental health–led community safety, less policing.

• Climate & Schools: Green infrastructure upgrades for public schools.

• LGBTQIA+ Rights: $65M for trans health + new Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs.

• Taxes & Wages: Tax the rich + raise minimum wage to $30/hr by 2030.

No, Mamdani’s ideology is not acceptable — he is, to some extent, still dancing to the tune of technocratic overlords who envision a managed, surveilled society with total population control. But his defiance of a key sacred cow—the unquestioned support of Israel as a Jewish ethnostate—is a rare moment of political clarity in a deeply cynical arena.

Will he be elected? I can almost guarantee to you that the way he has frightened everybody with his “socialist utopia,” he would unite all the political capital and all the money against him. Catsimatides already pledged to close his Gristedes supermarkets if Mamdani is elected.  But you cannot underestimate either Mamdanis’s charisma (he proved it already) nor his opponents’ arrogance and stupidity – it’s evident.  Especially when it comes to the political actions of the Jewish lobby (AIPAC), there is no end to their self-destructive arrogance: By overplaying the “Holocaust” card for decades and by underestimating the negative impression of most Americans on superimposing their demands on local and national politics, they not only violated basic rules of American politics and ethics but they also undermined the American Constitution…

And they have now entered the final stage before they cause a popular uprising against them: 80% of the American people were against bombing Iran while the AIPAC (the Israeli lobby) was pushing for WAR, WAR, WAR… How much longer before a populist explosion demolishes their hallucinations?
