This staged photo, which was touted by pro-government media, has raised serious doubts about its authenticity. It appears that the Trump couple’s pose is identical in photos taken with other world leaders, suggesting that it might be a digital manipulation.
The incident marks a major public relations disaster for Mitsotakis during his visit to New York for the UN General Assembly. Not only did Greece fail to secure tangible benefits from the trip, but the Prime Minister’s presence transformed into a media nightmare, culminating in the controversial photo with the Trumps. The Greek government’s last-ditch attempt to portray the meeting as a success backfired. Instead of enhancing Mitsotakis’s image, the photo exposed his lack of credibility and prompted numerous questions: Is the photo real or fake? Who authorized its release, knowing it was a clear forgery? Even if the photo were genuine, why would the Prime Minister allow himself to be portrayed in a meaningless photo just to claim he met Trump?
This incident is not just a “blunder.” Mitsotakis chose to present such an image as authentic, sticking to his communication-driven approach rather than substance. This reflects his willingness to sacrifice truth for momentary political gain, a dangerous path to take, especially when it involves Greece’s international reputation. Ultimately, this is not just a misstep by Mitsotakis but also a failure on the part of the White House, which, under the leadership of Trump and Melania, chose to maintain the same awkward, lifeless pose with all world leaders. It’s a clear mockery of Greek citizens, as the Prime Minister validated this absurd move in an effort to appear closer to international power centers than he really is.
Why in the hell should the faithful of GOARCH be paying for the trip of a schismatic/heretical bishop from Rome??

Its a stupid move on Mitsotakis’ part to even accept to pose next to a faked Trump. And there’s no question it is faked. However, he wasn’t the only one. I wonder who’s idea it was. I’m sure whoever came up with such a terrible idea is now regretting it. You can’t expect Trump to pose with 180 national leaders that attended tthe UN conference.
