Archbishop Elpidophoros was hospitalized on Sunday, May 31, after becoming ill during the Divine Liturgy for Pentecost at Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Aretsou, Thessaloniki. According to multiple reports, the Archbishop either fainted or suffered a sudden health episode while the service was underway, prompting an immediate response from emergency medical personnel. He was transported by ambulance to the 424 General Military Hospital of Thessaloniki for examination and observation.
