Recently, local Greeks were outraged at a development project linked to Rothschild that will limit Greek citizens’ access to Messenia’s beachfront in Kalamata.
Greece’s Golden Visa is allowing non-Greeks to flood Greece for cheap real estate. The issue is how this makes life harder for the average Greek citizen. The average Greek will be forced to live with mommy/daddy or relatives just to afford to live. How does this help young Greeks get married, move, buy a home/condo, and have 3 kids? It makes it hard to marry and have kids in Greece. Russia helps young ethnic Russians with home loans, low tax rates, free land in Siberia, incentives to have kids, etc.
The baby boomer generation in the 1960s/1970s/1980s had access to plenty of jobs and cheap properties in the USA, Greece, Canada, UK, Australia, etc. Property prices started to inflate in the early 2000s. The 2008 crash was a good reset for inflated prices, if some got in with cash.
Pinhas Sarfati, an Israeli citizen, formed IDM Kalamata. This company is linked to IDM Capital. According to i-cyprus.com/company/633992, Guy Rothschild is the Director. Pinhas Sarfati is a director. The Secretary is Christiana Gregiou.
The project seeks fast-track approval. This hotel will have 140 rooms. It will also include 248 luxury residences. The project will include restaurants, wellness facilities, commercial spaces, and sports facilities. The project will have permanent positions.
This smells like the project in Albania with Israelis, Rothschild, and the Trumps.
No Greek investor is involved in this project. There are no public meetings on this project. Greek citizens in Messenia province and Kalamata are in the dark about this project. Greek citizens have no input. What will it mean? Will beach access be limited to Greek citizens and tourists who love Kalamata’s beaches? Who will inhabit the 248 luxury residences? Are they wealthy Israelis fleeing Israel due to the war with Iran?
Greeks in Messenia are mad about this proposed project.
There is no transparency on this project.
Greece has made military cooperation with Israel. Near Kalamata, there is a Greek Air Force base. Will this project be where Israeli military pilots and staff live?
Does this project mean that native Greeks will be pushed off their land near the sea? Israelis are heading to Cyprus, buying up properties, creating fenced-off Israeli-only communities. Greek Cypriots are becoming alarmed.
Greece needs to banish the Golden Visa project. It needs to be replaced with the Chinese system of investing in China. A foreign company doing business in China needs a 51% stake to go to a local Chinese businessman linked to the CCP.
The Mayor of Kalamata, Athanasios P. Vasilopoulos, needs to resign for the lack of transparency in this proposed project. He goes off to Australia or Canada to take pictures with Greeks from Messenia in the diaspora.
I urge Greek citizens to protest Kalamata City Hall and demand Mayor Vasilopoulos’ resignation.
In fact, citizens and local officials across the Greek islands are increasingly pushing back against proposed resorts.
A tourist-only economy has not benefited Greece. Greece has empty factories around Athens, Tripoli, Astros, and other areas. Greece needs to make stuff and export it. The world will face growing famines due to War against Iran and Russia. Greek agricultural exports will make money now for rural Greek communities.
The key is who is being paid off from the IDM Kalamata-linked Rothschild project?
This project is not like Costa Navarino near Pylos. Greeks started that project. It does not keep local Greeks from Pylos and surrounding towns, but it adds accommodation options for visitors.
The Greeks have survived wars, invasions, and occupations. The Greek DNA holds the power to resist Globalization and hold onto Greece for the ethnic Greeks. No one will force Greeks off their land or out of their nation. We will not be replaced.
The key is to stop the Rothschild-linked IDM Kalamata project due to its secrecy and unanswered questions.
