EDITOR’S NOTE. Two weeks ago, Greek Defense Minister Mr. Nikos Dendias announced that Greece plans to sell its older fighter jets to make its airforce more uniform (link here). Today, Newsweek reported that Greece would sell its older F-16s to Ukraine (see below).  Question to Mr. Dendias: You made a big fuss flying with an F-16 over the Eastern Aegean playing the “patriot.” Then you made an even bigger fuss announcing that Greece would sell all its older fighter jets and keep only the French Rafale and the modernized F-16 Viper.  What is so difficult for you to come out and clarify? Why did you let some defense “sources” create confusion? Did you suddenly lose your voice? Or, you are following orders from your puppet masters – like the rest of the Greek politicians?

Is this the guy we will honor as an Honorary Grand Marshal in our Parade in New York? Shameful! It’s still early; we can cancel him!!

Ukraine Eyes Unexpected F-16 Boost from European Ally

Greece could transfer up to 32 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, according to Greek media, as Kyiv waits frustratedly for the first of the Western-made jets to arrive in the coming weeks.

It is “almost certain” that Athens will transfer the fast jets to Kyiv, the Greek edition of Newsbreak reported, adding Ukraine could also receive 24 French-made Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets.

Greece is undergoing what it has called a “radical” overhaul of its armed forces, prioritizing a thorough reassessment of its air force.

“We have a cartload of different types of aircraft,” Greek Defense Minister, Nikos Dendias, told Greek television late last month. “We have F-4s, Mirage 2000-5s, Block 30 F-16s, Block 50 F-16s, Block 52 F-16s, Viper F-16s and Rafales. We cannot carry on this way.”

“The Mirage 2000-5 is an exceptionally capable plane and can be sold,” Dendias said. “The Block 30 F-16s need to be sold.”

Newsweek has reached out to the Greek Defense Ministry for comment via email.

Kyiv has long clamored for Western-made fighter jets to boost its ability to contest Russia’s superior fleet, and the Lockheed Martin-made F-16s possess modern avionics and radars.

But Ukraine’s Western backers were slow to promise F-16s, a deeper commitment than military aid packages featuring supplies like artillery systems or even tanks. Although several countries—Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and Belgium—ultimately committed to providing the jets to Ukraine last year, exact timelines for their arrival have remained opaque and subject to change.

The first jets were slated to arrive in the first part of 2024, but the Dutch government announced in January that Ukraine would receive an initial batch of F-16s in the “second quarter” of the year. And before the jets take off in Ukraine, Western countries say, Ukrainian personnel must complete their training programs, and the necessary infrastructure and facilities must be up and running in the country.

The dragging schedule has long worked against Ukraine, experts have said. Earlier this month, an anonymous Ukrainian senior military officer told Politico that “F-16s were needed in 2023; they won’t be right for 2024.”

Experts suggested to Newsweek last week that the number of fighter jets Ukraine will operate is too small to make a strategic difference across the entire front line, and Russia has likely made use of the months since the donations of the jets were unveiled to prepare.

Once the jets arrive, they will be an “absolute magnet for Russian air defenses and Russian aircraft,” said Frank Ledwidge, senior lecturer in Law and War Studies at Portsmouth University in the U.K. and a former British military intelligence officer.

“A single system can’t change the situation on the battlefield,” NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg told German newspaper Bild last week. “This isn’t a silver bullet that could change the course of the war.”

  1. Somehow the people of Greece or either stupid or crazy , like the Greek Government to beleive their will be no consequences for waging war on the most powerful Nuclear force in the world..Russia! Right now German Troops have advanced to Latvia and now will occupy that country with the Two time War Crimes , Crimes against humanity and genocide race called the German Arien race , not to be confused by the Evangelical Arien Race of America ! importantly they have made Russia’s case completely ..to nuke them to prevent the slaughter of another 25 million Russian that they administered in WW2! What Italy’s Mussolini was to Nazi Germany , Mistotakis is what Greece is to the Neo Nazi government of the Sholz Germany! And we all know what happened to Mussolini for cooperating with the Germans, and evoking death and destruction of Italy!
The Greek Government must be under the impression from the State Department ..that article 5 of Nato .. prevents Russia from Nuking Germany or even Greece , because U.S will retaliate! Greeks better ask the populace of America … because if they think , that when the U.S public learns that the consequences of retaliating against Russia for any military action , would mean the death of their families in America …like 150 millon citizens within 5 days .. the only issue will be how fast they could drag their representatives out of office like Mussolini! Who is Crazier ..Mistotakis and his cabal of Traitors or the populist of Greece! I mean what country with about 12 million people wages war with the Russian federation .. to represent the interests of a Jewish Zionist Neo Nazi Regime in the Ukraine who is oppressing the Orthodox Church of the Ukraine , maybe , Nazi Germany , but Greece! Have Greek asked Mistotakis what are the consequences of Nato Germany provoking a Nuclear attack on Germany .. is Mistotakis going to invade Russia on Article 5, or allow U.S to launch Nuclear warhead from Greek Waters ?
Really the Treason has already occured , without a Declaration of War ..The Greek Government having been waging Economic, Political , and military warfare on Russia to represent the interests of a Non Nato country which may destroy and undermine the peace and security of the people of Greece! Really Nick .. what don’t you ask these questions of Mistotakis!

Today .. Biden and Mistotakis .. punish any country that buys Russian military equipment like Greece and Turkey , and who sell anything to Russia that can be used against the Ukraine and it Nato allies!
Really, I can/t wait to see , what Russia has in mind to punish Germany and Greece and probably the rest of Nato for aiding and abetting the Ukraine to provoke war with Russia .
