The etymology of the word “idiot” derives from the verb “ιδιωτεύω,” meaning that “I remove myself from the public square, the public discourse, and I do not deal with public issues.” Ancient Greeks considered such people as “idiots,” with very much the same negative meaning the word is used today. Why should idiots be allowed to vote? We should not call this system a democracy; WE SHOULD CALL IT AN IDIOT-CRACY.

The inspiration for this article came from recent elections all over the globe. In what is recognized by all (including the U.S.) as the biggest democracy on the planet, India had elections this past weekend, where one billion voters participated using their voter ID!! Should I add that they used paper ballots? Yes, they did!… Also, last weekend, one hundred million Mexicans voted using their voter IDs! Characteristically, many thousands of Mexican voters voted in California with their voted IDs. Some of them, I am sure, will present themselves in US election booths and will vote – and nobody will ask them for any identification!!
In Europe, the EU Parliament Elections are next weekend, and voter identification is required in all countries! More specifically, many years ago, electronic voting machines were allowed in France. Not anymore! Please link here for an AP report explaining France’s “old school “voting system: Voting IDs – One Day Vote – Paper Ballots!
Yes, America used to have the same “old school” system, and we used to know who was elected President before midnight. Not anymore! The Leftist ideologues, knowing what the Left knew for the last two centuries (that they cannot win fair elections), managed to change the system little by little, with the argument that they fight against “voter suppression” or, in other wording, “against disenfranchising” some low-education, low-income groups. If you are not motivated enough to vote or do not take time out of your day to vote, your vote should not count. It simply means that you are not a voter who is informed enough to make a difference or motivated enough to participate in “Democracy”!! According to our ancestors, the Ancient Greeks, you are AN IDIOT!!
The etymology of the word “idiot” derives from the verb “ιδιωτεύω”, meaning that “I remove myself from the public square, the public discourse and I do not deal with public issues”. I’m sorry, but if you are willing to spend time getting your driver’s license or a passport to travel internationally but do not try to get a voter ID, you should not be allowed to vote.
Instead of simply applying common sense, in modern America, the leftist establishment considers it part of “democracy” for every “idiot” to vote. They managed to change the State Laws in many ways: 1) Voter rolls are not “cleaned” by removing people who are dead or moved to another state/country. 2) Mail-in-ballots have expanded exponentially to the point there is no control (in combination with other factors). 3) The voting time expanded from one day to many …months.
However, the most fundamental problem is voter ID, and we should start fixing the whole system from there. Below is a map of the U.S. – the states in grey are the ones where no ID is required! This explains in many ways why the Democrats have created a majority out of nothing! We should not call them “the blue states” but “the grey states” or “the no-voter ID” states.

The rest of the colored states denote different degrees of required ID: red and orange are the ones with a photo voter ID (strict or non-strict), dark blue means Non-photo ID required (strict), light blue means Non-photo ID requested (non-strict).
I will close this short piece here, repeating that if we do not manage to return the country to the basics of the essential democratic process, voting, we cannot expect to win the bigger battles, and we should not call this system a democracy: WE SHOULD CALL IT AN IDIOT-CRACY.

While I see Nick’s point and I agree, that there should be voter ID presented, we can’t only blame the democrats for this. The Supreme court has the final say .And it is majority conservative. Why haven’t they fixed it?. Congress has a thin republican majority. They haven’t even attempted to bring it up to a vote. Congress is dysfunctional. They’re busy hurling accusations to each other instead of making laws that help constituents.
BTW, America has not been a true democracy ever since its founding. First, it was slavery. Then, it was Jim Crow. All states have the same number of senators. California with 49 million people, has as many senators as North Dakota with half a million. And the most anti democratic institution is the electoral college. Two presidents, Bush the 2nd and Trump became presidents even though they lost the popular vote. So, over all, republicans have been benefiting more than democrats. Consider that Trump and Bush installed 5 SCOTUS between them. All conservative. Trump had three SCOTUS in 4 years. Other presidents average two in 8 years.
But the foundation of all democratic processes is voting. Without fixing the way voting works we cannot fix the rest.
All states have two senators and that is beneficial for the small states. This is to offset the house of of Representatives where population is taken into count and small states are at disadvantage. The electoral college is there to give states a say. True democracy is where there is the direct democracy. I care about ethnocracy.
Please explain “ethnocracy”.
You should place your blame on the Founding Fathers for not requiring it in the Constitution.
The Founding Fathers had bigger concerns – how to balance powers in the republic. They wisely left some central issues to the States. This was one of them.
