EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis) A few minutes ago, I received an email from the Holy Synod of the “Orthodox Autocephalous Church Of Albania” (posted below in its original Greek and an English translation), denying that AB Anastasios was a Freemason and stating that he had no relationship with Freemasonry.
We happily publish this letter with no additional comments except that Helleniscope has been a steadfast long-term supporter of the beloved Archbishop Anastasios and stood by his side all along, especially two years ago when his office asked all his supporters worldwide to defend him against harsh attacks by the circles around Patriarch Bartholomew.
Finally, I call on all of you to respect the statement of the Albanian Holy Synod and end the discussion at this point. And keep Archbishop Anastasios’s guiding example in our hearts and thoughts forever.

We wanted to let you know that the recently deceased late Archbishop of Albania, Mr. Anastasios, was never a Mason and had no connection with Freemasonry. The statements on your website https://www.helleniscope.com/ 2025/03/05/is-ab-anastasios-of-albania-lost-because-of-his-freemasonry-and-ecumenist-ties/ as your own positions as well as those of the speaker you host in a video and the book by an anonymous author, are highly untrue and completely non-existent. Moreover, the sources of funding for the miraculous reconstruction from the ruins of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania are registered in the archives of the Holy Synod and have been made public, except for those that fall within the respectful will of anonymity of large or small donors. In no case is there any sponsorship from a Masonic lodge.
Please, in accordance with journalistic ethics, post this announcement on your website in the same font size as this one.

Βλέπετε όλοι τώρα ότι είχα δίκιο όταν
έλεγα , πως δεν πιστεύω ότι ο Αναστάσιος είναι μασώνος.
Ο αείμνηστος Αρχιεπίσκοπος , ο
τελευταίος Βορείου και Νοτίου Αμερικής Ιάκωβος με τον οποίον είχα πάρα πολύ καλές σχέσεις οι οποίες προήλθαν
μετά από συγκρούσεις εναντίον του.
Του έλεγα ωμή την αλήθεια για ότι
στραβό έκανε και τον επαινούσα για ότι καλό έκανε. Η πρώτη μου ατάκα
εναντίον του ξεκίνησε με το θέμα της
γλώσσας , ήθελε να περάσει την χρήση
της Αγγλικής, όμως παραδέχθηκε στο
τέλος ότι ήταν λάθος και έκανε στροφή 180 μοιρών. Το αναφέρει και στο βιβλίο του : “ Εγώ ο Οάκωβος και ζητά
συγνώμη” .
Όταν τον τίμησε ο Παγχιακός Κοραής
Νέας Υόρκης , ήμουν Πρόεδρος της
Οργανωτικής Επιτροπής και τον
επισκεπτόμουνα στο Μανχάτταν πολλές φορές για να ετοιμάσουμε το
πρόγραμμα. Αρκετές φορές γυρίζαμε την συζήτηση και σε άλλα θέματα.
Ενθυμούμαι που μια φορά μου
έκανε την ερώτηση “ Καπετάνιε
που έμαθες να γράφεις;” , Χαμογέλασα
και του είπα: “ Σεβασμιώτατε εσείς μου
κάνετε αυτήν την ερώτηση;”, Εσείς δεν
ψάλλετε το: “ Ο πανσόφους τους αλιείς αναδείξας “ , πετάχτηκε και με
αγκάλιασε , λεγοντάς μου: “ είσαι σωστός σε όλα σε συγχαίρω.
Αντέδρασα και του είπα Σεβασμιώτατε,
πολλοί στην Ομογένεια λέγουν πως
είστε Τέκτονας και μάλιστα μεγάλου
βαθμού, χαμογέλασε και μου είπε
με εκείνο το σοφιστικέ του υπέροχο
χαμόγελό, Καπετάνιε πολλοί από
αυτούς που έχουν πέσει στην παγίδα
για να αισθάνονται κάποια ανακούφιση
λέγουν: “ Είναι τέκτονας και ο Ιάκωβος”
Είμαι βέβαιος πως το ίδιο ακριβώς μπορεί να συνέβαινε και με τον
Αναστάσιο.
Of course he’s not a Mason. How could a man who dedicated nearly every waking moment to doing God’s will and work be a Mason? A Mason would think a lot of that activity as foolish. Archbishop Anastasios is a role model for how we should spend our time doing God’s will.May his memory be eternal.

Μην προτρέχετε να βγάλετε συμπεράσματα από μια τυπική διάψευση. Δε νομίζω ότι ένας σοβαρός ιερωμένος όπως ο π. Σεραφείμ Ζήσης, θα έβγαινε δημόσια να μιλήσει έτσι αν δεν είχε κάποια στοιχεία στα χέρια του. Ας διαβάσουμε πρώτα το περί ου ο λόγος βιβλίο περί της μασονίας, το οποίο είναι εξαιρετικά δυσεύρετο και μετά τα ξαναλέμε…
