EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis). I am copying the call (by Nicholas of “Orthodox Reflections”) for a protest outside Cipriani where the corrupt Archons and the even more corrupt GOARCH leaders will “honor” the war criminal Zelensky NEXT SATURDAY, 9/26, 6.30 PM, OUTSIDE Casa Cipriani, 10 South Street, New York, NY 10004.
We Orthodox also have a chance to really make a difference. We are calling on all Orthodox Christians in the NYC area, or who can make it there, to gather on 9/26 for in-person protest of Zelensky at the event:
Location: Casa Cipriani, 10 South Street, New York NY 10004
Time: 6:30 p.m.
There are 312 Orthodox parishes within 100 miles of NYC:
Please organize yourselves at the small group and parish level to show up, hold signs, pray for peace, and tell the world that this award is completely anti-Christ. A few Orthodox Christians in protest has 100 times the impact of a petition drive, angry phone calls, protest emails, or even a criminal complaint. If we don’t show up, the organizers of this event will tell the entire world that they speak for Orthodoxy in giving their support to the Zelensky regime.
Please don’t just sit there on your phone or computer thinking that you have an option to “not get involved.” Because of your taxes, your membership in the Greek Archdiocese, and/or your Orthodox Christian Faith – you are involved whether you want to be or not.
“Involvement” is not the question.
The question is – what will you say to Jesus Christ when He asks you what you did for His persecuted Church in Ukraine.
“Nothing” is not an answer you want to give.

Facing Jesus Over the Zelensky Award in New York
By Nicholas – member of the Western Rite Vicariate, a part of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese in America
The picture below is Monk Varsanofy Turyansky in his casket. He was stabbed to death 23 August 2026 at the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk monastery by as yet unidentified attackers. Novice Hryhorii and a refugee Andrii Kyriienko were also severely injured. Monk Varsonofy’s final words are reported to have been, “Glory to the Lord Jesus Christ!.. I am a monk.” Take a good look at his face below. for he is a martyr who now stands before the very Throne of God. His blood cries out for justice.

Ukrainian “authorities” of the Zelensky regime have opened a criminal investigation into the murder. Which is somewhat comical, as those are the very authorities who are actively persecuting the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The attack occurred on the same day Zelensky was hosting a “prayer breakfast” from which the UOC was excluded. Robert Amsterdam, Founder and Managing Partner of Amsterdam & Partners, which serves as international counsel to UOC, explained the context surrounding this crime:
“Last weekend, Ukraine’s political leadership gathered for a Prayer Breakfast excluding the UOC, and on that same day, a monk of the UOC is murdered at one of the country’s great monasteries. The hypocrisy of the incumbent administration and its supporters is staggering. The murder of Monk Varsanofy is the horrifying consequence of an atmosphere they helped create.
Today should be a great national holiday. Ukraine’s independence has been defended at an extraordinary human cost, and Ukrainians have every right to celebrate their sovereignty and freedom. But it must not be hijacked by a government that invokes freedom before the world while itself undermining fundamental freedoms.
Prayer Breakfasts cannot provide cover for religious persecution. Those international political and religious leaders who participated in yesterday’s event must now ask themselves whether their presence is being used to legitimise precisely the conduct that the principles of religious freedom require them to oppose.”
The Zelensky regime has used force to seize UOC monasteries and churches. Bishops, monks, and clergy have been beaten, arrested, and even forcibly mobilized into the Army to serve as cannon fodder. Innocent laity, even elderly ladies, have been beaten and harassed for daring to worship at the same parishes they have attended their entire lives. The government even seeks to ban the entire operation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – a move condemned by the American Assembly of Orthodox Bishops.
Whether the murderers of Monk Martyr Varsanofy were operating under explicit instructions of the Zelensky regime is not known. It may never be known. Direct orders or not, the murderers carried out their unholy deeds in an environment of persecution intentionally created by the Zelensky regime. The blood of a martyred monk is on Zelensky’s hands.
But not just his hands. For Zelensky did not bring about the persecution of the UOC on his own. To make all of this bloody persecution possible required the active assistance of the Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew, and his henchmen at the top of the Greek Archdiocese of America (Archbishop Elpidophoros, high ranking clergy, and the rich, influential Archons). Without the cover provided by Constantinople, the world would have long ago turned on Zelensky for his crimes against the Body of Christ.
This is just one picture of Bartholomew with Zelensky. There are many more. No doubt more will be taken, should Jesus tarry. All smiles you see. Great friends. While monks die.

The support of Constantinople, rich Greeks, and the Greek Archdiocese for the regime in Kiev muddies the water just enough to keep Zelensky respectable. So respectable, in fact, that the Greek Archdiocese is giving Zelensky the “Beacon of Hope” award on 26 September 2026 in NYC at a swanky dinner. Sponsorships for the dinner go from $3,500 to $250,000, while individual seats are $1,500. Americans are suffering under record levels of inflation, while the rich and powerful gather in NYC to throw money at a tyrant whose government foments the murder of Orthodox monks.
Yeah, that will leave a mark. Not just in this world, but also in the next. The money paid by the ritzy sponsors and attendees is blood money. The blood of martyrs.
Tetyana is a Ukrainian citizen and long time source for our site who, following the martyrdom of Monk Varsanofy and the beating of another monk during the seizure of an UOC parish, wrote this scathing message to Patriarch Bartholomew:
DISRESPECTED Patriarch Bartholomew!
I would like to tell you that after the BLOODY SCHISM—in which you, “Your Holiness,” were a direct participant—it is unlikely that you will be welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven. You are up to your neck in the BLOOD of the Orthodox faithful of the UOC and in all the lawlessness perpetrated by Zelensky, the SBU, the Ukrainian police, Ukrainian courts and media, the Ukrainian parliament, and their entire entourage in Ukraine. And what will you, Patriarch Bartholomew, say at the Judgment before God, before your soul—if it does not REPENT—descends into HELL? Here is important information regarding the lawlessness and inaction of the Ukrainian authorities, carried out with the support of Patriarch Bartholomew in Ukraine. ETERNAL SHAME UPON THEM ALL!
Indeed, what will Patriarch Bartholomew have to say to Jesus Christ at the Dread Judgment Seat? Further, what will all those attendees at this event have to say to Christ? Or the Archons who helped fund this event and who frequently justify the martyrdom of the UOC? What about the staff who put this event on? How will they give account? What will the American Orthodox priests and bishops in other jurisdictions, who are busy pretending this event isn’t happening, say before the face of Our Lord? (We do know of at least one exception.) Do they really believe Jesus Christ, Lord of All, will excuse their silence because speaking out would have been “impolite” or “interference” in the affairs of another jurisdiction?
But it’s not just them. It’s also us who are under judgement, not only for this event, but also for all of the horrific events funded by our American tax dollars. Yes, us. The rank and file Orthodox Faithful who pray, pay, and obey. This judgement is ours too. Why? Because we were told the truth about what is happening in Ukraine to our brother Orthodox Christians. Because we were told months ago about this event, which essentially puts the “Orthodox” stamp of approval on the monk murdering Zelensky and his corrupt, bloody regime.
And we Orthodox Christians in America have done way too little with that information.
Orthodox Reflections sponsored a petition allowing Orthodox Christians to denounce this blasphemous event. It was covered all over the world by Orthodox news outlets. We should have gotten hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of signatures. Each signature generated a protest email to the Greek Archdiocese, the Greek Orthodox Shrine sponsoring this abomination, the Archons whose money keeps the Greek Archdiocese in its lavish lifestyle, and the Assembly of Orthodox Bishops. It was an easy way for average Orthodox Christians to tell Constantinople, the world, and (most importantly) Jesus Christ that we condemn the persecution and murder of Orthodox Christians.
Unfortunately, we have gotten so far just over 1,545 signatures. The easiest possible way to disassociate from this travesty, and we could only bestir that small a number of Orthodox Christians to exercise it. In truth, the petition, and the criminal complaint filed by Michael Gianakos of Concerned Greek Orthodox Christians of New Jersey, should have been just the start of opposition to this obscene event. There should be protests in front of the Greek Archdiocese offices in New York. Protests in front of the Shrine. Copies of protest letters hand delivered to the Greek Archdiocese by angry mobs. Angry letters to the editor in every Orthodox publication. Orthodox Christians should be demanding that every Orthodox jurisdiction condemn this award, and the persecution enabled by Constantinople in Ukraine.
My fellow Orthodox in the West, particularly in America, for the sake of our own souls we have to do better than this. At a bare minimum, sign and share the petition. If you have a podcast channel or other platform, speak about this issue and encourage resistance as Tribulation Saints has done. If you have other avenues to speak out, do so. If you are in the Greek Archdiocese, then start to work to put your house in order before the Lord.
We Orthodox also have a chance to really make a difference. We are calling on all Orthodox Christians in the NYC area, or who can make it there, to gather on 9/26 for in-person protest of Zelensky at the event:

Please send photos and videos of activities to Orthodox Reflections, too.
Please pray all week. Have a good protest. Beware of counter protesters and agents provocateurs.
I don’t think Bart believes in Jesus. And we all know Zelensky doesn’t.
Just like the American government (or should I say the Freemasons that are the true earthly powers that be?) created pseudo-democracy in Greece with their Mitsotaki-like puppets, to gradually destroy Orthodoxy from within the country, they also infiltrated the Phanariot Hierarchy to politicize the Orthodox Church in their favor. Government and religion, this two-pronged approach, has been very successful so far because too many sheep were sleeping in the early stages, and the two prongs have everything covered.
I don’t think anything can fundamentally change things at this point except some serious self-sacrifice and – I hate so say it – blood shed (and I don’t mean more monks), which means that things will probably have to get a whole lot worse before the sheep wake up and the populace rises in revolt en masse. I hope I’m proven wrong.
While I have zero interest in defending Zelensky, I find no basis for protesting against him either. Did the early church stage protests against their persecution?
Christians were persecuted by the Jews first and by the Romans later. St. Paul’s letter to the Romans actually argues against protesting. Instead, he refers to the pagan Roman authorities as “God’s ministers”. He writes:
“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.”
Wait a minute Joseph: Romans 13 teaches respect for legitimate civil authority, but it does not mean Christians must never challenge rulers. Paul himself appealed to his legal rights when mistreated (Acts 16:37–39; 22:25), and the apostles said, “We must obey God rather than men” when authorities commanded them to stop preaching (Acts 5:29). So submission is not the same as unconditional obedience or silence in the face of injustice.
The early Christians did not usually stage modern street protests, but they did publicly challenge unjust treatment. So Romans 13 may argue against lawless rebellion, but it does not forbid peaceful protest, legal appeal, or public criticism of rulers. Whether protesting Zelensky is justified depends on the actual grievance, not on Romans 13 alone.
After all, Jesus entered the Temple, overturned the money changers’ tables, and drove out those buying and selling there (Matthew 21:12–13; Mark 11:15–17; Luke 19:45–46). John’s Gospel adds that he made a whip of cords and drove the animals out of the Temple area (John 2:13–17). Doesn’t corrupt Zelensky remind you of the Temple merchants?
So Jesus was not passive in the face of wrongdoing. But the Temple cleansing was not a call for political revolt against Rome; it was a forceful, prophetic act against the corruption and misuse of sacred space. It shows that nonviolence does not necessarily mean doing nothing—Jesus could confront wrongdoing very directly without launching an armed rebellion.
The Jewish temple that Christ cleansed in the Gospel was destroyed by the Romans in 70AD because of a Jewish protest and revolt against Roman taxation. As a result, the Roman military sieged Jerusalem and completely destroyed the temple, just as Christ had prophesied. Apparently that protest didn’t end very well for those Jews.
Now some people want to rebuild that temple, because, you know, some people never learn.
Your statement mixes real history with oversimplification and sarcasm. Rome destroyed the Second Temple in 70 CE during a much broader Jewish revolt, not merely a protest.
Calling the destruction a fulfillment of Christ’s prophecy is a Christian theological interpretation. The phrase “those Jews” unfairly generalizes a complex ancient conflict to Jews as a whole.
Likewise, support for rebuilding the Temple today exists, but it is not a universal Jewish position. But as I have said before – the Zionists follow a self-destructive path…
Joseph Lipper, if you and your ilk don’t want to protest, stay home. That’s your choice.
Reportedly, there are 1.64 million Orthodox Christians in America. How many will meet 9/26 in NYC to protest the tyrant Zelensky on behalf of their persecuted Ukrainian brethren? How many will show up in solidarity?
Not because they love to protest, but because they love the One Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church!
Lipper, what is your solution? And when do you plan on executing your solution?
Jane, my plan is to be at Vigil in church next Saturday at 6:30pm. That’s what I typically do.
Joseph, it’s one thing for Christians to be faithful to their rulers. We are all called to do so. It is quite another thing altogether to praise tyrants who actively kill Christians.
George, how is this different from Patriarch Kirill praising the tyrant Vladimir Putin who is also actively involved with killing Christians?
https://spzh.eu/en/news/85090-patriarch-kirill-to-putin-roc-fully-supports-special-military-operation
Putin approval rating inside Russia is double of Trump’s in the US. With an approval rating around 70% you cannot call him a tyrant. You cannot call Zelensky a democratically elected leader either, because he refuses elections. You cannot call use the term tyrant on Zelensky easily as he suppresses Russian language – please give me a list of countries in the world prohibiting the use of a language. As for religion – no need to repeat his crimes here. On the opposite I can argue that Russia managed to have peace with Muslims in her territory who now fight and die for “Mother Russia”. I don’t know many American Muslims who would fight and die for America. Do you?
Mr. Lipper:
If Zelensky can’t take criticism and protest, he shouldn’t take American money and show up for an award ceremony.
Feel free to start a campaign against the Russians and the Russian patriarch. Have fun.
This campaign, however, is against Zelensky because he is coming to NYC. The Russians are not.
Joseph, Putin for all his faults, is no tyrant. His party recently stood for election and won 58.7% of the vote.
There is another 20% who think he is not authoritarian enough. For those who throw stones, let them look to their glass houses: last year the German establishment killed seven candidates from the AfD.
You read that right: killed. The last time an American office-holder was killed was during the Reconstruction period (1865-1876) when a Republican Congressman was assassinated in Tennessee. (I do not include Charlie Kirk’s assassination because he was not standing for office.)
Please stop peddling Western talking points.
Nothing will change unless you do protest. It takes a single match to light a fire.

Jane, they should be giving Oberführer Zelensky the “Beacon of BIG DOPE Among Dopes” award!
Joseph .. “We are not judged by our deeds .. but the Intentions of our Hearts”
While the former Baptist minister and now U.S ambassador to Israel Mike Hucklebee and self proclaimed Christian Zionist confesses the He and all Evangelical Protestants Christians are “Zionist”, and cannot understand how Orthodox and Catholic Christians can call themselves Christians , if they don’t accept Zionist and Zionism as part of the Christian faith! And more importantly he states that he and his faith who rule America ..are obligated to fullfil all the covenants made between Abraham with the Jewish People and Jewish Zionist Regimes of Zelensky and Netanyahue….made over 2000 years ago …..
In the meantime.. Greek Orthodox Christians confess that Bartholomew , Elpidophoros, The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, Trustees, U.S congress, State Department are part of a “Religious/Political criminal enterprise …that has breached the covenants between the Original Church of Christ and its leader the Prince of Peace with Ceasar and the Barbaric Roman empire ..
My own morality. My own mind. It’s the only thing that can stop me.”
“I don’t need international law.” or God laws ” source : Donald Trump .. Ceasar
And Jesus lets us see , that only Christians can stop Ceasar and the Beasts who have breached the covenant between the Devil and Christ .. 2000 year ago ….
«Τότε λέγει αὐτοῖς· Ἀπόδοτε οὖν τὰ Καίσαρος Καίσαρι, καὶ τὰ τοῦ Θεοῦ τῷ Θεῷ.»
(Κατά Ματθαῖον 22:21) from the Original Church of Christ ,the written in Greek letters of the Bible ..New testament..
“Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.” (Matthew 22:17–21, KJV)
Caesar may demand taxes.
Caesar may not demand the destruction of children.
Caesar may govern territory.
Caesar may not claim ownership over human life.
Caesar may enforce laws.
Caesar may not violate the laws of God.
NO CHRISTIAN OF THE COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD CAN RENDER TRIBUTE, TAXES OR ALLEGIANCE TO THE DEVIL OR CEASAR, UNTIL HE RENDERS THE THINGS THAT ARE OWED TO GOD” (Matthew 22:17–21, KJV)
And Joseph , You , Trump, Zelensky, Bartholomew, and Zionist governments of America and Israel should return to God .. what is due to him! like Return of Canonical Orthodox Church of Ukraine and world , which is his domaini and property, Peace and Prosperity for the Orthodox faithful of the world in Ukraine, Russia, Gaza, Palestine, lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran , Serbia, Most of the Middle EAst and Europe, and stop killing his chidren of the world ! And to all Greek Orthodox Christians .. we owe God a lot , if we fail to defend his Churches!
Michael One, you are distorting the words of Christ in Matthew 22:17-21. Just like the Jews who questioned Christ, you seem to be inferring that it is not lawful to pay taxes to a government that does not fear God.
Christ didn’t make any demands of Caesar. No, instead he admonished the God-fearing Jews to pay taxes to the pagan idol-worshiping Roman government.
OK, “Joseph Lipper,” enough of the Fedslop.
Everyone else:
Please pray all week. Have a good protest. Beware of counter protesters and agents provocateurs.
That’s because the pagan rulers were the lawful authority.
Orthodox Christians everywhere should protest against all those that persecute the OC, presidents, patriarchs, etc. Bravo to the Bulgarians who are taking action against a patriarch that brought nothing but pain to the OC:

Hellensicope here is the moderated comment in response to lipper defamation of my character ..in distorting scriptures of the bible which you posted ..
Michael, I tried to explain to you several times in the past but you do not understand… We cannot publish 3-4 long (2 pages long) comments from you every day. Most of the times I agree with you but I cannot allow you and anyone else hijack the commntsd section of this website. Also you cannot comment on one theme only, the Protest Zionists. Please understand.
I had come to groan when seeing his long-winded postings on Helleniscope articles.
Time to Protest for all Christian Greek/Americans on September- 26th in NY. I wish I was there in solidarity, to expose the Hypocrisy of endorsing Zelensky’s Zionistic mafia based war in Ukraine. Greek /American Orthodox Christians have no benefits to adhere to this unfortunate event, that provokes Anti-Hellenic Christian Policies in Ukraine. We as a unique enduring culture ,have our own issues to address and resolve ( in the Aegean) for international peace. September is the month that leaders of the world engage at the UN in NY NY. they unite to communicate on the international stage to stabilize ,to unilaterally diffuse polemic tensions by subscribing their appeal ,the important mission to seek peace. I fully support , Helleniscope’s dutiful request for all, Hellenes-Phil-Hellenes to
mobilize at the controversial site; as you are on the Right side of History. This is an historical opportunity to voice our concerns , at most an Honorable Duty to
protest , in respect of civil obedience , the confines of local laws and regulations. Regrettably , due to some degree, lack of concern and citizenship apathy ;Cyprus was attacked ,invaded and decimated over 52 years ago!!
Thank You from all city and towns throughout the Hellenization of America- Olympia WA-Athens GA-Eureka CA-Corinth MS-Ypsilanti MI-

Hey John and joseph .. I have not forgotten your short winded praise of Zelensky and Netanyahue, and the unholy allinace between Greece and the demonic self proclaimed Zionist states of America and Israel! I also never forgot to respond to you accusation that my scription were incorrect . So with Heleniscope permissin , I have !
The Greek sentence «Τότε λέγει αὐτοῖς· Ἀπόδοτε οὖν τὰ Καίσαρος Καίσαρι, καὶ τὰ τοῦ Θεοῦ τῷ Θεῷ.» originates directly from the Greek New Testament, specifically the Gospel according to Matthew 22:21. This is part of the original Koine Greek text of the canonical Christian Scriptures. The phrase appears in three places in the Greek New TestamentAll three are preserved in the standard Greek manuscripts and critical editions (Nestle–Aland, Westcott & Hort, Byzantine Majority, Textus Receptus).
Most of UN assembly walks out of Netanyahue speech ……….
Netanyahu brings ‘killer pager’ to UN
Israel used booby-trapped communication devices in a 2024 attack that killed dozens and maimed thousands in Lebanon
Speaking at the General Assembly on Thursday, Netanyahu held up a pager, saying: “You remember the beepers? Remember these?” He added: “Hezbollah certainly remembers them.”
During a White House meeting in February 2025, Netanyahu presented US President Donald Trump with a gold-plated pager and a regular one in reference to the attack. Trump reportedly called it “a great operation.”
Anybody who support the mosr depraved regimes in History, and an unholy alliance between Greece , Cyprus , Israel and UKraine should be admitted to a home for the criminally insane ..Period! Imagine that almost the entire General Assembly walked out of the assembly , when Greece most important ally and partner .. Netanyahue addressed the UN Body of Nations. What an honor to Greek Orthodox Christians of the world
So how did your protest go?
Rained out…
