One Hundred Years Of Turkish “National Oath”: A Summary Of Turkish Barbarism

EDITOR’S NOTE: Elpidophoros hopelessly pushes for “reconciliation” between Greece and Turkey, hoping to survive in America and get Erdogan’s support to become a Patriarch. And they warn all of us – especially Greek Premier Mitsotakis, who will visit Ankara on Monday – not to give in to such demands!  We Greeks, share a lot with Modern Turks, especially those of Western Turkey, who, after all, are descendants of mostly Greeks (and Armenians and Assyrians) forcibly Islamized over ten centuries… But if we succumb to pressures from the West and allow the “sharing of Greece’s sovereignty,” there will be no Greece as we know it in a few decades…

Neo-Ottoman fantasies for 104 years to date, without any interruption and regardless of the political power of Ankara.

It is a fact that in both Greece and Cyprus there were, are and (unfortunately) will be in the future, political elites who believe in a “compromise” with Turkey, usually at a disproportionately large national “cost”, simply for let’s have our peace.
Exactly twenty years ago the extreme Annan Plan equated 18% of Cypriot Muslims with 82% of Cypriot Christians in order to serve the British and Turkish goals of partitioning Cyprus, demolishing the Republic of Cyprus which is recognized by hundreds of countries around the world, legitimizing the Turkish invading and occupying 28.5% of the territory of the Republic of Cyprus (they also did a favor by “returning” some lands to their owners). Nevertheless, there were political elites in both Athens and Nicosia who wanted a “compromise”.

In Cyprus, the former Presidents of the Republic of Cyprus George Vassiliou (Yesmen of the British) and Nikos Anastasiadis (as well as the current President of the Republic of Cyprus), in Athens the former Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou as well as first-class journalists, were open supporters of the coup of ” Annan Plan”.

Today we are witnessing an “appeasement” of a different quality. We see e.g. the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, in the context of the 9th Economic Forum of Delphi (10-13/4/2024), to assure us that “… we are not naive or naive to believe that from one day to the next we will solve the problems we have with Turkey, dating back decades. On the other hand, an elementary element of the good relationship we are trying to develop with Turkey is the understanding that the basic positions of the two parties are not going to change… I want Greek citizens to feel confident and calm, I want my children to live in a area without the finger being on the trigger…”.

At first reading, many will be quick to exclaim “Very true!”. After all, who doesn’t want their children to live in an area without their finger on the trigger? But on second reading many start to panic. We all know that the descendants of the Turks from Mongolia, with faithful representatives the Young Turks, solemnly adopted the national oath (Mîsâk-ı Millî – six-point declaration) from the year 1920 with neo-Ottoman fantasies which they nevertheless seek to achieve systematically and methodically on 104 years to date, without any interruption and regardless of the political power of Ankara.
So how is it possible to live “without a finger on the trigger” believing that one day, some day, we will “solve” the problems unilaterally created by the opposite side of the Aegean demanding that it expand at our expense?
How can we do that we don’t see all that Turkey has been doing continuously, systematically and methodically, for a whole century after the Asia Minor Disaster, despite the very often repeated declarations of “Greek-Turkish friendship”?

How many times in the last century was not monotonously repeated the super-usefulness of the Greek-Turkish friendship and how many times it was wrecked – all with Turkish “initiative”? Where did the “Greek-Turkish friendship” advertised by Eleftherios Venizelos and Mustafa Kemal after the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923 go?
Did the descendants of the Mongolian Turks and their Young Turk heirs respect her on countless occasions – among them:
– in 1928 (burning of Tatauli, the most famous Greek quarter of the city and its hasty renaming to “Kurtulus”, i.e. Salvation)
– in 1932 (prohibition of dozens of professions by Greeks in Turkey, with Law 2007/1932, in order to force them to leave)
– in 1941 (selective conscription of twenty-year-old Christians with the aim of their physical extermination in forced labor)
– in 1942 (grab of Greek properties with the racist, extraordinary property tax)
– in 1955 (pogrom against the Greeks of Constantinople with the destruction and looting of thousands of houses and shops as well as many other sanctuaries and shrines)
– in 1964 (mass deportations of a total of 40,000 Greeks from Constantinople, start of implementation of a plan to desegregate Greek residents (92% of the total) of the islands of Imbros & Tenedos with the transfer of open prisons of Baripoinites and other “measures”, raid and bombing of the Cypriot area of Tellyrias, in good cooperation with the British, to better prepare for the Turkish invasion that followed)
– in 1974 (invasion and occupation of 37% of the territory of the Republic of Cyprus
– in 1975 (creation of the Aegean Army in Smyrna, opposite the Greek islands, with a simultaneous demand for their demilitarization)
– in 1995 (Turkish National Assembly resolution to declare war on Greece (casus belli) if the latter dares to extend its territorial waters beyond 6 nautical miles in the Aegean, in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea which it signed Greece along with 168 other countries of the world)
– In 2019 (Turkey’s “memorandum of cooperation” with its agents in civil war-torn Libya for the seizure of the Greek and Cypriot EEZ)
– in the period 2020-2022 (hybrid war on the Greek islands of the Aegean and on the Greek-Turkish border of the Evros with daily thuggery, insults, bullying and official threats “we will come suddenly one night”)
– In 2024 (Turkey’s sudden disengagement from the Treaty on Conventional Forces in Europe (CFE) to uncontrollably increase its offensive arsenal to better blackmail Greece and Cyprus).

After all this, what do the modern “political elites” tell us today? Let’s forget everything that the descendants of the Mongolian Turks have done and continue to do for a whole century. To “focus” on a period of unknown duration with benefits for both countries, waiting for Turkey to unilaterally end the period of calm, as it has repeatedly done in the past. Shouldn’t we spend a lot of money on national defense after we “normalize” our relations with Turkey?

This is roughly what they tell us and talk about allegedly “problems that go back decades” and “understanding that the basic positions of the two parties are not going to change”.
But what a pity that of course it is not about “decade-old problems” but about neo-Ottoman fantasies that were founded a whole century earlier and are scrupulously supported by Turkey. Moreover, since we accept that the basic positions of the Turkish National Oath are not going to change, how is it possible to live “without the finger on the trigger?”\

Do we not know for sure that for a whole century they have been simply lurking and as soon as they find the right opportunity of weakness or problems in Greece, they advance by a small or large step in the realization of their neo-Ottoman fantasies?
So how is it possible to live “without a finger on the trigger” when the opposite side is lurking at any moment to cause us another national disaster?
How is it possible that we discuss in a civilized way “without the finger on the trigger” and the opposite side paints and announces decisions of theoretical usurpation of crystalline Greek sovereign rights?

How is it possible that today’s Turkey, after first uprooting the Hellenism of Constantinople, Imbros and Tenedos, continues to exploit the democracy of European Greece, either with crocodile tears for allegedly oppressing Greek citizens, Muslims of the religion who are increasing and populating in Greek Thrace, or announcing the establishment of a private Turkish University in Greece, at the same time as coldly strangling the educational freedom of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople by prohibiting the operation of the Halki Theological School against even its own laws or throwing hundreds of decisions of the European Court of Human Rights into the wastebasket Rights for Turkish politicians, businessmen, journalists and so many others, while pretending hypocritically why … Greece (justifiably) did not implement any ECtHR decision!

How is it possible, on the one hand, that Turkey brazenly demands the “highlighting” of Ottoman monuments from the period of the temporary Turkish occupation of Greece, and on the other hand, turns the church of Hagia Sophia into a mosque, this unique monument of World Cultural Heritage Heritage as well as many other churches of the Byzantine period, most recently the Monastery of Chora, saying in addition that “this issue does not concern you because it is an internal matter of Turkey?”. That is, according to the descendants of the Turks from Mongolia, the Ottoman monuments that still exist in Greek territory are not an internal matter of Greece?

How is it possible that we, in the books we write for our children, “look to see as little as possible the beast of Asia, as little as possible the “enemy”, to reach the point of “erasing incidents, names, atrocities. All this, maybe we will meet with the opposite country, maybe we will finally become friends” and the descendants of the Turks from Mongolia poison the next generations of young Turks by teaching in the schools the electoral “vision” of the Blue Homeland that she created unilaterally and against her own will Turkey at the expense of Greece and Cyprus?

Is all this happening so that we can continue to have new national holocausts? Is it to give them the rest of Cyprus with the fairy tale of the two-zone that we have been told since 1956 by the treacherous British, who wrote and deleted the Treaty of Lausanne for their own interests, putting the Turks in the Cypriot window through the window?
Perhaps for some “sharing” of our rights in the Aegean and the Mediterranean similar to the generous “sharing” of non-existent history, language and name to the people of Skopje by the company of the most honorable Mr. “Mikhail Andrejevic Suslov” who also gave us advice from Delphi not to be “monovores” against the Turks?

Conclusions: The existence of talks and cooperation with the opposite side of the Aegean is certainly desirable, as is the development of trade and tourism between us. After all, the vast majority of today’s “Turks” who visit or settle in Greece do not come from the descendants of Mongolian Turks – the undoubted minority of today’s Turkish society.
They are descendants of native populations who turned Turkic or forcibly converted to Islam in order not to lose their heads. And all these people, as well as the overwhelming percentage of their descendants, have absolutely nothing to do with the descendants of the Turks from Mongolia, who nevertheless control the current Turkish power through the regime established in modern Turkey by the Young Turks and the Kemalists .

It is therefore imperative, on the one hand, to discuss with good intentions about common interests, but on the other hand, to keep a firm “finger on the trigger”. To constantly strengthen our deterrent power, not to hide any truth under the carpet and to react decisively, calmly and effectively to every new absurdity that is sure to be unleashed on the opposite side of the Aegean.

Otherwise, we will have the same result as in a bicycle race where one of the competitors constantly uses a bicycle instead of… Porsche!
If we pretend not to see, hear or understand the glaring challenges of the other side because we want to have a good time “without the finger on the trigger”, then I am truly sorry, but with such minds… good night!________*
