EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis).  Bishop Joseph Strickland is absolutely correct. It is heresy.  But not only does the Pope promote such heresy, but also Pat. Bartholomew and Elpidophoros made identical statements in the past.  This is one of the main reasons people have abandoned our Churches and are trying to find the truth elsewhere, in other churches and in monasteries.  This is also why Bartholomew has started a war against Mount Athos, the so-called “Ark of Orthodoxy”.  Because he knows that Athos will NEVER accept the Union with Catholicism and will NEVER accept heresies…

It is very likely that Freemasonry is the root of such heresies—they are very similar to Masonic teachings. But I will leave the commentary to you.

Catholic Bishop on Pope’s words that all religions lead to God: It’s heresy

The Catholic bishop reminded that the path to God is only through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Catholic Bishop Joseph Strickland believes that Pope Francis’s statement that all religions are a path to God should be considered heretical.

A few hours after Pope Francis said in Singapore that “all religions are a path to God,” Bishop Strickland wrote on X (former Twitter): “The only way to God the Father is through His Son Jesus Christ.”

“To deny this is to deny the Catholic faith, this is called heresy,” emphasized the Catholic hierarch, attaching a link to a document issued by the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which affirms that only the Lord Jesus is the Saviour.

As reported by the UOJ, according to the Pope, world religions are “like different languages to come to God, but God is God for all”, and “since God is God for all, we are all children of God”.

  1. Isn’t it a shame that in the Middle Ages the bishops in the West decided to “subjugate” themselves to the “bishop of Rome”?

Maybe after this abominable Papal statement, they will reconsider and finally take steps to reverse other “heretical dogmas”, such as Papal Primacy, Papal Infallibility, and perhaps return to a Synodic system…that would be a nice “start” to see…

But wait…what will Bartholomew and his Uniate fans do then?

  2. Not sure why he’s calling it heresy, this is essentially what the Vatican has been pushing since Vatican 2 with the document Nostra Aetate….

Within the Roman Catholic framework this is the logical next step in the “development of doctrine” and “aggiormento” that’s been pushed since at least the 19th century.

He’s calling something heretical in a structure that is already heretical

Roman Catholics should flee their heretical sinking ship and come to Orthodoxy.

    • Petros, you called it perfectly. The Papist church is heretical. I had a Roman Catholic join the Orthodox Church through baptism. The bishop(OCA) gave his blessing.

  3. Petros, I agree with you in theory but in practice most GOA parishes are ethnic enclaves focused on preserving Hellenism not on mission and outreach. Some of the other jurisdictions are more open to outreach. Our theology is consistent with that of the early church and if we practiced our theology of outreach and evangelism we would be an attractive alternative to the RC Church.
