Zelensky confirmed that he called on Fanar to grant the OCU patriarchate status

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that he called on the Patriarchate of Constantinople to raise the status of the OCU to the Patriarchate, reports LB. He informed the journalists about this, noting that the call was made at the end of August during a meeting with the delegates of Patriarch Bartholomew, who were coming to Kyiv.
“I said that our people, Ukrainians, would understand if our status was elevated to the patriarchy. The exarchs have accepted the information and will convey it to the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, they will consult,” Zelenskyi said.
According to him, representatives of the Patriarch of Constantinople already have an action plan on this issue, but the final decision will be discussed with Patriarch Bartholomew. The president added that the exarchs are in contact with the head of the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience Viktor Yelenskyi and should return with specific proposals.

Does Zelenski really think that Bartholomew will give them a Patriarchate, the way he wrote the Thomos, which doesn’t allow them to elect their own bishops?
