By Nick Stamatakis

Yesterday, we published the video of the Greek Navy Cadets parading in Athens, shouting, “Cyprus Is Greek, F… Turkey”, and receiving thunderous applause from the bystanders and many of us worldwide.

Here it is again:

As expected, this caused some reactions from Turkey – totally unjustified, not from us Greeks but even from objective observers.  I cannot count how many times in the last few years Erdogan himself and other Turkish politicians said loudly that they “will come at night” to occupy the Greek islands and made other open threats.  Threats followed by illegal actions – as happened recently south of Karpathos and Kassos, and north of Crete!!  Not to mention that Turkey has issued an official “casus belli” since 1996 by its Parliament, threatening with war in case Greece exercised its legal rights to declare a 12-mile territorial waters zone…

Yet we should be bothered with the explicit slogans at a Greek National Parade – no matter how obscene and bellicose they are!! Astonishing hypocrisy and double standards!!

However, the reaction of certain parts of Greek society is more complicated to explain.  First, we can understand the “ethno-nihilistic” stance of the leftist parties.  The Left is “allergic” to any expression of patriotism – but 20 years earlier we all knew of the patriotic Left in Greece – with main leader A. Papandreou…

However, the rejection of the Naval Cadets by some supposedly “right wing” journalists and commendators is interesting as it reveals their globalist agenda.  For the past three decades, the globalists on the right (Mitsotakis and his sister being among the leaders) tried everything to subdue any nationalistic feelings among the Greek people and to follow a “rapprochement” policy with Turkey, following the orders of the American Deep State. They even changed the educational curricula to that effect. However, the election of Donald Trump gave rise to patriotism globally – and in some sense, what we saw yesterday is another manifestation of the “Trump Effect”.

The pacifist/defeatist/ globalist policies of the Greek elites did not manage to change the people’s ethos —and this is what bothers their paid globalist pawns in the media. Greeks can still parade with pride and express their will to give their lives for their beloved country!

Mitsotakis himself was reported to be “upset” (lest the deals the “family” has agreed with Turkey do not “materialize”) and ordered for those “responsible” to be held accountable for the obscene slogans… But why did he and the other idiots forget that these cadets are training for battle and they need to be ready to give their lives at any given moment?

How do they expect the soldiers to be trained to die for their homeland? By participating in Gay Pride Parades?

Lord Have Mercy…

PS. Should I remind all of you the obscenities – twenty times more explicit than what the cadets did – used by Karaiskakis, one of the biggest heroes of the 1821 revolution, before the battle of Faliron? They are very hard to translate…

  1. Unfortunately someone will likely be court-martialed in a kangaroo court of course, but this is not the first time something like this has happened. Almost 10 years ago, navy seals in a similar parade marched to the tune of another “song”, and that caused a “woke media frenzy” as well…

At the end of the day, “woke mindset” and “military” can’t co-exist in the same sentence. The most difficult thing to do is transform the mindset of a peaceful civilian into someone that can take the life of a human “enemy” without flinching. A soldier can’t afford to “think” or “hesitate” to pull a trigger on the battlefield, period. Failure to achieve this psychological transformation leads to certain annihilation during wartime. Many cases of PTSD syndrome in returning soldiers is largely attributed to this forced “unnatural” transformation attempt, when it doesn’t fully take root. These marching “chants” are as much part of the training program as any other exercise, whether or not modern-day “politicians” and “woke media” like them heard at official parades. That’s just how it goes, and that’s how it needs to be if the military will be a serious force to contend with. In WW2, it is well known that the German army (and eventually some others) used amphetamine drugs to “motivate” their soldiers into zombie-like soldiers, unable to “think” or sleep for multiple days straight…they used drugs to enforce the psychological “transformation”.

The best thing that the Greek media and politicians can do is focus on Greek interests, and not EU / woke / Turkish ones for once in their life…a military can never be judged by woke standards, period.

  2. It appears the brave cadets have already paid the price for telling the truth! Didn’t take long for Kouli to bow down to the sultan once again.
