We know who is truly to blame for this human disaster and he is no other than Patriarch Bartholomew. He was clearly warned by many before granting autocephaly to Ukraine that this act would cause religious violence. He was warned again and again as the signs were already clear and the Nazis of Western Ukraine had been killing Russophones in the Donbas for years. Bartholomew ignored all this advice. He managed to make a suggestion against violence in his first announcement that autocephaly would be granted -and then nothing!!
What was Met. Longin’s crime? That he wanted to stay under the canonical Church!!… Bartholomew has blood on his hands!..
We also had said at that time that the result of the Ukrainian Autocephaly would be that the Patriarchate would be kicked out of Turkey. Two years ago Hagia Sophia was turned into a mosque. Now the historic “Moni Choras” is also turning into a mosque (link here for our friends at Monomakhos’ reports and comments). What is left? The final kick of the Patriarchate out of Constantinople… Where is now Mrs Nuland to impose her will on the Turks and save the Patriarchate? After all, she was the one who approved all the F-16s and other support for Turkey…

PERSECUTED METROPOLITAN LONGIN ATTACKED AT HOME, HAS TO UNDERGO SURGERY

His Eminence Metropolitan Longin of Bancheny is known as one of the most stalwart hierarchs of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Therefore, he is also one of the prime targets of the state and those who attack the Church.
Having already suffered severe health setbacks in recent months under the pressure of the state’s campaign against him, His Eminence was also physically attacked late last month.
Yesterday, the Facebook page of Bancheny Monastery, where the Metropolitan also takes care of the hundreds of orphans he has adopted, posted the above image, with the short message: “This is the price of the purity of the Orthodox faith!”
A post today included a short statement from Met. Longin:
This happened on the night of January 22, 2024. Someone knocked on the door three times, and when I opened it, I was struck and knocked unconscious. As a result of the blow, I had to have surgery on my eyelids. I feel good now! Everything is left to the mercy and judgment of God!
Though officially recognized as a Hero of Ukraine for having adopted hundreds of orphans, the state now considers him an enemy because he staunchly remains within the Orthodox Church. He is accused of “inciting religious enmity”—the same phony charge being brought against a number of Orthodox hierarchs.
His Eminence has suffered several severe health incidents since the state launched its campaign against him. He suffered a stroke back in July, and he was admitted to the hospital last month with atrial fibrillation, after which he underwent heart surgery. In late December, the Metropolitan’s car was unjustifiably detained and searched. Following the incident, his condition worsened and he experienced a heart arrhythmia.
Armed security forces surrounded and searched his monastery in November, scaring the orphans who live there. Furthermore, His Eminence’s previous lawyer, Valentin Sukhari, died from poisoning in November. In early January, his house in Bukovina went up in flames.

Επίθεση από άγνωστο δέχθηκε ο Μητροπολίτης Μπάντσεν κ. Λογγίνος της Ορθοδόξου Εκκλησίας της Ουκρανίας.
Το γεγονός έκανε γνωστό ο Μητροπολίτης Λογγίνος, ο οποίος ανέφερε ότι το βράδυ της 22ας Ιανουαρίου δέχθηκε γροθιές στο πρόσωπο από άγνωστο.
“Χτύπησαν την πόρτα μου 3 φορές και όταν άνοιξα, δεν πρόλαβα να μιλήσω και δέχθηκα γροθιές από έναν άγνωστο. Νιώθω καλά τώρα Δόξα τω Θεώ. Τους αφήνω στο έλεος και την κρίση του Θεού” – τόνισε χαρακτηριστικά ο Μητροπολίτης Λογγίνος.
Να αναφερθεί ότι ο Σεβασμιώτατος λόγω των χτυπημάτων που δέχθηκε, έχασε τις αισθήσεις του ενώ υποβλήθηκε σε χειρουργική επέμβαση των βλεφάρων.
Επίσης να σημειωθεί ότι οι θεράποντες ιατροί είπαν στον Μητροπολίτη Λογγίνο ότι επέζησε της επίθεση μόνο λόγω της ανατομικής δομής του κεφαλιού του.
Τέλος, ο Σεβασμιώτατος διέψευσε τα fake news εκείνα που έλεγαν ότι αυτό συνέβη μετά από λιποθυμικό επεισόδιο που είχε, ενώ πρόσθεσε ότι “επί δύο χρόνια στην Ουκρανία χτυπούσαν ιερείς και γριούλες, αφαιρούσαν εκκλησίες και δίχαζαν τον ουκρανικό λαό”.
This is very sad to read. Bartholomew is not a patriarch. Everyone must stop calling him that. Bartholomew is a man who sold his soul.
The Bishop of Istanbul doesn’t care one bit about what happens to Met. Longin, Met. Onuphry, or any bishop in the canonical Ukrainian Church.
Why? Because to him they no longer exist and only the schismatic OCU is the only “legit” church in Ukraine.
To lay fair blame, the other patriarchs of the various Churches have done the Church in general, and the UOC in particular, no favors by either remaining silent, or, issues small statements.
Enough is enough, call a council, deal with Bartholomew, and allow the Church to heal from this.

Comments that go head to head with the facts and the Canons of Orthodoxy – i.e. that “Bartholomew gave autocephaly to Ukraine’s Church because they asked for it” will never be published. Go sent letters to TNH – where comments are not allowed last time I checked.
The Canons actually mention that the remaining Autocephalous Churches have to “approve” any new tomos as well (“in due time, at a future Synod”)…given that most Autocephalous Churches sent letters “not approving” before Bartholomew’s signatures were put on the tomos, it was clear that Bart “went rogue” on this, and now we see the results…similar and worse things happened in 1204 A.D. in Constantinople when the 4th Crusade’s bloodthirsty clerics “stopped by for coffee” for about 57 years… (we will spare the historically documented details of what acts these barbarians performed …but Bart knew this history, in theory)
He is not doing the work of God, but the work of the Uniates…
Metropolitan Longhin has been highly critical of Bartholomew for many years. This is the price to pay for the truth and for refusing to bow to the “orthodox pope”. Vladica Longhin told us that this year is going to be worse than last year and it appears that it will be so. But I notice that the evil is no longer hidden. Before they quietly and secretly poisoned him (more than once!), burned his house down, poisoned (Killed!) his attorney etc
What they did to his face this time is for everyone to see. They did not hide it. Of course the government and the schismatics will deny it. Before everything was done in secret. Now it is done out in the open but then lie about happening. Reminds me of Israel causing mass starvation and horror in Gaza and they deny it although there is plenty of footage for all of us to see. Evil is in our faces, it is no longer hidden, but they continue to lie that it didn’t happen and they have no knowledge of it. May God help us all.
Gee, the Ukrainian extremists are doing the same thing to Metropolitan Longin that Putin has been accused of doing to his opponents. The pro EP liberals have painted all of us with any connection to the Russian Church(OCA< ROCOR,etc); as sharing somehow the blame for everything they attribute to Putin and Patriarch Kyrill. Wouldn't that work the same way, then, for those associated with the EP?
Your right Boris, but the issue is …do not the Ukrainian Orthodoc faithful unaware of these attrocities against there churches , or are the like Nazi Germany affaid to be called “Enemies of the Neo Nazi Regime of Ukraine , and why Putin must liberate the Ukraine completely , despite the fact that he doesn’t want to have the burden of rebuilding the Ukraine!

Hey Zoey. The patriarchate did not allow the violence against the clergyman. Criminal elements do not ask for permission. Fanaticism, especially in religious matters is widespread. Especially when war divides a people and brings out the worse in them.
Lambros, how many times do I need to tell you that Bartholomew was specifically warned about the likelihood of violence in case of autocephaly? Diplomats and hierarchs had warned him. Why are you so strong-headed? You know I have been following this issue as closely as anyone since 2016-17… Bartholomew himself had recognized this likelihood in his very first announcement that autocephaly would be granted!! But he was not serious. The fact that the Ukro-nazis would cause violence was evident with a naked eye. You need not be a CIA analyst to know that (although I doubt the quality of those today…)
Hey Nick. I understand that there were warnings of violence. I have no doubt that Bartholomew knew what was going to happen. Ukraine is not known for its peacefulness. However, violence would have happened anyway and most likely worse, if the demand for separation from the Russian patriarchate did not happen. No one can stop the progression of a society, because of fear of violence. Ukrainians have a history of pro-nazism, no doubt about it. Democracy is not in their DNA. But Russians are no more democratic that Ukrainians.

Please Lambros stop this… As for “democratic” Russians or Ukrainians, I remind you that the right to be under a certain church has not much to do with whether there is democracy in a certain country… You know enough history to understand this. I can’t believe the situation is so misunderstood, still.
1. There is no real autocephaly, not as the other churches have it, it is very restricted, a new “kind” of “church”, so Barto created a made up “church”.
2. The Churches were stolen by force by the political and criminal gangs that are comprised of people that don’t even know the Lord’s prayer, or that are not even orthodox as it has been well documented!
3. The Churches that they have stolen are empty today! Very rarely there is a service in them. This is a disgraced! If the Ukrainian people truly wanted a “new church”, why are they not in those “new churches” and they have to travel long distances to find an “old” real Church?
4. Barto created his own church that is not recognized by most of the other Orthodox Churches, so it is clearly a made up church and people that are informed do not recognize it as legitimate. I would not go to one. I would rather stay home because that is not a church, it is a church building that was stollen.
5. Vladica Longhin speaks Romanian and because he is part of a minority he is probably persecuted more just like the other minorities are, not just that Romanian, in the nazi state of Ukraine. Vladica has been highly critical of Barto for years, repeatedly.
6. There are monks in Athos that got beatings when things didn’t go as planned. This gang mentality must end.
7. For those of you that think Barto has nothing to do with this, show me how he stopped the attacks on clergy by ending the phony autocephaly. Vladica is not the first clergy attacked in Ukraine. It’s Barto’s mess, he started it, he can end it. Did he? Call him and show him these photos and others that have been on the internet with orthodox violently attacked. Barto would rather have orthodox Churches empty for this own ambition. This is theft! They are not his Churches. Please do call him and ask him to do something about it. To stop the theft and the violence. To condemn it. Because it has been going on for years and he did nothing about it. He has blood on his hands. Peopled died.

No linda,, we must actively circumvent the control of the religious leader of the Christian church by the Evangelical and Jewish Zionist fascist, and do God biddign which is to activate political assault on the Sins of our leadrs by our local churches and boards! There are resolutions now being voted on by the Parishioners of Greek Orthodox churches which will condemn the attrocities agaisnt the Ukrainian Church, and hold the local Congressman accoutable for “Anti Orthodox” Fascist policies and demand that the U.S congress support the resolution and condemn the Zelensky Regime , stop all funding of the Ukraine , and demand the release of all arrested monks and clergy of the Ukrainian Church, properties returned, and full compensation be given to the Ukrainian Church! Beleive it or not …most boards are concerned that Bartholomew and Epi will punish their Clergy or get this …remove the clergy from operating the local Churches! Additionally, the resolution highlight the U.S state department as the Perpetrators who provoked the Zelensky Regime to commit these Crimes!

Until the Synod doesn’t make a decision, this will continue. I can’t mobilize anything, I am not even greek and you are giving me way too much credit! But go ahead, you do it :) This has to take place and it is allowed by God and Gheronda Ephraim said not to leave the Greek Church because of Barto. Gheronda said to be patient. So Barto pretends to be a patriarch and we pretend that we don’t know he isn’t, until the Synod gets rid of him. An orthodox hierarch, I can’t remember his name, said what is happening to the orthodox in Ukraine will sanctify them. This is allowed by God. I believe that Vladica Longhin and many others in Ukraine one of the chosen ones, as many others were in the history of the Orthodox Church.
Doctors are actually quite stunned that Vladica is alive. This was an attempt to his life. It wasn’t only the eyes that they went for. To the doctor’s astonishment, there were no broken bones! FYI the government opened an “investigation” and concluded that his eyes looked like that because Vladica fell and hurt himself. Vladica denied this. He said that it is true that he fell, and lost his conscious, but it was because he was attacked.
Lambros, is US a democracy? Is it democratic to get involved in the Russian and Ukrainian Orthodox Church? Is Barto taking orders from God or from the US government?
