There is a Canon on the books about defrocking priests that are convicted in a criminal civil court…

Then again, there are other Canons based upon which certain metropolitans and archbishops would have been defrocked already, merely based on heretical statements / actions / convictions, common prayers with heretics, etc…it really depends on who is sitting on that “spiritual court”, doesn’t it?

Priesthood is not for everyone…
no kidding? Feel bad for him, too many get there because ma & pa insisted…
but can he teach now?

This brings up the point of human capital management. Any institution will have members with flaws and needs. The GOA has dysfunctional leadership and few processes and resources to manage its Corps of Clergy. Where are the persistent evaluations and accountability? Where is the concern and care? This priest was allowed to function until he crashed. Now he’s finished. So is the GOA.

This guy was A NYC school teacher for years before “deciding” to become a priest. Can’t figure that one out to this day. He destroyed Transfiguration in Corona and then moved on to Holy Cross where he was unsuccessful in destroying it..

Fr. George is a gifted Priest (thoughtful and sharp sermons) with the authority through Christ to save souls. He appears to have gone through challenging times. He needs our support and prayers, not our judgment. “The devil’s greatest trick is to target those who are closest to Christ, for he know their potential to do great things. He seeks to corrupt the gifted for their fall would be the most devastating.”
