EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis): This was a massive pilgrimage in Iasi, Romania, to celebrate St.Paraskeva, whose relics are kept in the local Cathedral. The photos talk for themselves! Romanians are among the most faithful and pious Orthodox… Over 90% of the people declare themselves as Orthodox and consider their faith an integral part of their national identity. The Phanar is salivating to take control (or at least interfere in) Romania, but it has no chance. Why? Because of the genuinely traumatic memories of when the Ottoman Sultans gave Romania to the Phanariotes to rule (1711-1821). Phanariotes were viewed as corrupt and exploitative by the rising tide of the Romanian nationalist movement. From the Greek point of view, we all know that the Greek Revolution started in Moldova and Romania, and still today the presence of Greeks in the country and especially along the coast is significant.
