By Nick Stamatakis

With great sadness, Helleniscope learned the passing of a great Spartan and Hellene, Harry Lambrakis.  Harry was a man who would ideally fit into the ancient Greek ideal of “kalos kagathos” (beautiful and virtuous).  With a great personality overflowing with optimism, an unbeatable positive spirit, and a great smile to match, Harry was an active member of our community, ready to open his heart and offer to all.

God blessed him and his wife, Eleni, with a large, happy family of four children and eleven grandchildren, whose love and attention kept him busy and very happy until the last moment.  Active in Church and a series of civic organizations, Harry was always eager to volunteer… His hard work and success as a businessman allowed him ample opportunity to enjoy life fully. Always ready to go, he was enjoying the long summers in Neapolis, Laconia, Greece, and the rest of the seasons in the waters around Brooklyn, the mountains of New York and Pennsylvania, and the rest of our beautiful country. Always surrounded by friends with whom he would share the fruits of his fishing and hunting adventures, Harry enjoyed the good times as few among us.

Have a nice trip to Heaven, Harry! Christ is already smiling at you!
