In mid-November, TNH breathlessly reported that Alexandra Papadopoulou (former Ambassador to DC and currently Greece’s undersecretary of Foreign Affairs) had suggested to Pat. Bartholomew to remove Elpidophoros, and in early January, they were the first to report that “Mt. Athos had issued a letter to the Patriarch against Elpidophoros” based on the infamous “Gay Baptism” issue. Yet, TNH promoted the openly gay SYRIZA leader Mr. Kassselakis for months, and a few days ago, editor A. Diamataris published an editorial supporting Mitsotakis’s “same-sex marriage” legislation. What do they truly believe? Are they against Mt.Athos?

One of the main issues arising from the recent controversy in our community and Greece is “who supports what and why” on same-sex marriage and related issues. Since the Archbishop is the one who openly supports the introduction of such heretic issues in our Church, then this question usually reflects on how one views Elpidophoros. Our website was very explicit about the theological, social, and political reasons we rejected the Archbishop since day. Other Greek or community news sites (for example, our friends at Monomakhos.com) focus primarily on theological and ecclesiastical reasons. Others are focused mostly on his connections with Turkey and Turkish foreign policy goals. What exactly is the reasoning behind the recent polemic of TNH with Elpidophoros?
A few days ago, an editorial by TNH Editor A.Diamataris, Mitsotakis’s “representative” in the U.S., expressed a LOUD YES to same-sex marriage! (Link here)… A few months ago, in early October, the TNH Theologian T.Kalmoukos closed an interview with an openly gay and, at that time, just married SYRIZA leader Stefanos Kasselakis as follows:
TNH: You have entered into a marriage with a man. Do you believe the majority of the Greek people are ready to accept your type of marriage?
SK: Yes, they are.
TNH: Have there been instances where certain individuals, including hierarchs and priests, approached you and said, “Mr. Kasselakis, what is this?”
SK: No, never. Quite the opposite. During the meeting with His All Holiness, the Ecumenical Patriarch, I mentioned my partner, and he reacted naturally, with no hesitation. I expressed my desire to visit the Phanar, and the Patriarch said with great joy: “During the Theophania [the Feast of Epiphany].

We haven’t heard Mr. Kalmoukos’s theological positions on these and other related issues. Does he support, with all his theological knowledge, the same positions as TNH Editor Diamataris on same-sex marriage? What does he think of the statement made above by Kasselakis that Patriarch Bartholomew reacted “naturally, with no hesitation” to the fact that he had married Tyler?
Both Diamataris and Kalmoukos have to explain themselves to the community: Do they agree with the teachings of Orthodoxy on marriage as expressed by Mt.Athos? Or do they disagree? If so, do they believe in some other teaching, some other “theology”? Just saying this is a “human rights” issue is not an answer… As the leftist philosopher Stelios Ramfos explained last weekend, if you take this downhill slope, you end up accepting marriage between humans and animals “based on love”…
You cannot have your cake and eat it too, gentlemen at TNH… Especially if you declare yourself as a “theologian” (Kalmoukos) and as a “friend and frequent visitor of Mt.Athos” (Diamataris). Both you and Elpidophoros promote a similar “gay agenda.” Without clear theological or other reasons, why do you push so hard to remove Elpidophoros? Explain yourselves… Otherwise, we should assume that your motives are neither journalistic nor ideological/theological – but purely self-serving… Do you think that this community forgot that in September 2021, right after Elpidophoros visited the Turkish House in NYC, your concern was how to assist him in recovering from the huge debacle?
The overwhelming majority of the Greek-American community – the second and third generation – comes from parents and grandparents born mainly in the countryside and the islands of Greece (including both Diamataris and Kalmoukos). They are faithful and socially conservative. They reject such ideas as “acceptance of homosexuality” – especially within the Church.
The Greek-American community has largely abandoned TNH, now a shadow of its former shelf. In the news business, it’s all about credibility (consider what happened to Fox News in the last eight months after firing Tucker Carlson: they lost much of their audience!!), of which TNH is left with very little. This community’s main question now is whether it should take the last step and drop TNH into the trash can of history.

Did Helleniscope not know that Diamataris and TNH are the equivalent to Greeks in America and Greece as CNN , Fox News, CNBC etc et are to Evangelical and Protestants of America Led by Clinton Appointee Patrick Theros , former U.S ambassador to Qatar and another State department Think Tank organization who is the in-house State Department advocate of TNH , and anti Trump , anti Russia, Pro Israel and Nato,apologist , Pro Turkey EU membership! Diamataris was once the Minister of information or more Disinformation for the Mistotakis regime to the Greek American Despora after TNH endorsed and promoted his candidacy in Greece , but got kicked out by Syriza, for multiple charges! Diamataris clients include the Ahepa , the Archdiocese of North America, if they are compliant to State Department Agenda and has basically censored most information about the Persecution of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, and has cenored information about the criminal foreign policies of U.S State department in Syria and world !
Their idols are the Bush , McCain, Biden crime families ! During the Covid Vaccine scandals they supported mandatory shots on Federal workers and College Students which have proven to be fraudulent medical propaganda, as we know today ..the vaccines are ineffective and dangerous!

If I were a TNH subscriber, I would have stopped my subscription immediately…let them starve if they are going to be a propaganda piece for Mitsotakis and Kasselakis. If a newspaper publishes even one trashy article, they should not expect people to pay for the next issue. I anticipate a drop in their revenue after this…οπως εστρωσες θα κοιμηθεις, κυριε Διαμανταρη…most subscribers are from a different generation, and they are more conservative than you think. I’m personally going to reach out to several subscribers and ask them what they think now about renewing the TNH subscription…maybe Mitsotakis and Kasselakis can subsidize the difference for TNH going forward…
The Diamataris article justified its position by saying “teen suicides were reduced”. The numbers and the source of the numbers that he is quoting may be debatable, but this is EXACTLY the same argument why there was a shift in the Psychiatric/Psychological community after 1990 to not treat these individuals as a “condition”… HIV was ravaging in the 1980s, and suicides were very high upon diagnosis…I recall the story of one school counselor who the kids “knew” was “different” who jumped out of the 14th floor of a hospital window when he was diagnosed with HIV, long before he was even incapacitated. These mounting stories led to an increasingly “empathetic” approach by psychologists/psychiatrists to “make them feel better” by telling them their behavior was “normal”, in the effort to reduce suicides (without solving the underlying psychological issues though)…the next battle over the next several decades was to slowly convince society of the same (pushing the narrative of reducing suicides), and finally, push for the “illusion of marriage and adoption”, which violate the basic laws of nature (two males cannot produce an offspring, even in the animal kingdom).
And now Diamantaris is pushing the same propaganda, 40 years later…”suicides”…if you ask any psychiatrist / psychologist about whether or not a “tendency for suicide in general” is something that the Psych medical community is always equipped to handle, the answer will be YES. However, after 1990, they decided to “shift” the way they treated the LGB+ sub-section of the group of people who were suicidal, and force the entire global community to tell those folks “it’s ok, you are normal”. Like we mentioned in the prior comment in the other article, it became clear that the “quickest solution” adopted by the medical community (from the point of view of “pre-1990’s training) was to “allow the inmates to run the global asylum”… The jury is still out on whether or not the medical community was correct prior to 1990 or afterwards (that will take decades to sort out), but it is clear that after 1990, increasing political hostility towards the freedom of religion has been a direct result of this “shift”, and we are entering a new era of Christian persecution as the “majority vote” of an “increasingly corrupt society” becomes anti-Christian, with laws that will put LGB “rights” above freedom of Religion (like the doctor in the UK that was fired for not calling a biological man “mrs”)….if they think that’s a better and balanced outcome for society, that’s shameful.
The Diamataris article also leads to another terrible conclusion. If Mr. Diamantaris was ever baptized Orthodox Christian, he has just denied Christ and the Teachings of the Orthodox Church by writing what he did. That’s even more shameful.
To Answer your Question, if Diamantaris . Columnist Andy Diabalis , and Ahepa Members Baptized Orthodox Christian who stand for Israel Genocide of Orthodox , Catholic , and Muslim of Palestine…..
Not likely , as Diamantaris and Associate Andy Diabalis show how faithful they are to God, monks of Mount Athos, who refused to take Vaccines and surrender their religious freedom and the Greek orthodox Church !

Guys, TNH is part of our failed servile leadership, speaking from both sides of their mouths… Writing inaccuracies and most importantly like most of the establishment media being bullhorns for the elites that find them and the servile sheep that get their opinions shaped from them. I want to give my kudos to Helleniscope for being an honest voice (I don’t always agree with the tactics and criticism) but I know that the Editors care about their readers and respond to their opinions. I also want to thank Helleniscope for pulling lots of water for all of us. The fact that the current Archbishop doesn’t give the light of day to our local journalists is a signal of the fascistic and tyrannical and passive aggressive (one of the worst sins that afflict humans) attitude. Additionally the fact that he mostly has disappeared from the Parishes of his District is a positive and hopeful sign. He knows what he does is wrong and he knows his flock think he is an unworthy shepherd. I pray and wish for our Archbishop to turn around, openly repent, ask for forgiveness and start being true to their very own mandate! Which is to follow the Holy Scriptures, the Holy Tradition and the Holy Canons of our ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC and APOSTOLIC Church. If they don’t believe in it they should develop the spine to resign, or else they won’t be the first to be dethroned by the pious and faithful laity. Our Church is a Democratic Kingdom. King is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Demos is the faithful flock clergy and laity.
