EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis): With every day and week that passes, more steps are taken to bring Turkey closer to BRICS and the Asian powers. I have noted here that Russia is trying to bring peace between Turkey and Syria (a meeting is to be held soon in Moscow between Putin and the two leaders, Erdogan and Assad). China has already reconciled the many Palestinian factions and is preparing them to assume full member status at the United Nations. What this report suggests is clear: we are close to the moment when China and Russia will supply Turkey the two basic elements missing from its project to finish its 5th generation fighter jet, KAAN: First, the proper engine and, second, an AESA radar.

First Step for BRICS-Russia and China Help Erdogan Build 5th Generation KAAN Aircraft?
A retired Russian colonel and adviser to the Ministry of Defense in Moscow had talked about a Putin-Erdogan deal for the Turkish fighter – The reason is the source codes for Turkey since the F-35s will fly with US permission only
We have a lot of background around the construction of the much-publicized Turkish 5th generation aircraft (so the Turks trumpet), about the help of Russia and China to Erdogan for this aircraft in particular.
The 2nd and 3rd prototypes of the KAAN aircraft are now on the final assembly line. Thanks to our Russian/Chinese friends, some minor problems with the Titanium diaphragms were solved. KAAN has evolved).”
What is the background behind CAAN and what do the Turks ultimately want for an anti-Greek F-35 aircraft?
Before mentioning anything on the subject, we emphasize emphatically that the Erdogan regime is frantically seeking the construction of a state-of-the-art aircraft (of course with foreign help due to the weakness of the Turkish industry in terms of engine, etc.), whose source codes are in the hands of Turkish officers only, i.e. essentially the Turkish president himself, for use of this aircraft on any target.
Turkey is known to be outside the American program of manufacturing F-35 aircraft, and now the Turkish president may no longer want them, since even if the US gives them, he will not be able to use them against Greece, for example, since the Americans own their codes.
In this context, and according to Erdogan’s recent statements, Turkey is filling up for CAAN, probably with Russian and Chinese help, while in the background we have Turkey’s possible entry into the BRICS, which is the antechamber for a military alliance with Moscow and Beijing.
The statements of a Russian adviser on CAAN and the terrible revelation about a Putin-Erdogan agreement
Russian military expert and adviser to the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Karotchenko, has said for months that the first flight of the Turkish Kaan fifth-generation fighter jet was a great success and a breakthrough.
The Director General of the Caspian Strategic Research Institute (KİSİ), editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, retired Colonel Igor Korochenko, had evaluated the flight of the Turkish fifth-generation Kaan fighter jet, stating that the first flight of the aircraft was a great success for the Turkish Air Force, but there is still serious work to be done, (possibly with Russian and Chinese help).
“Indeed, the flight of the first prototype of the Kaan fifth-generation fighter aircraft took place. By its external appearance, the aircraft meets all the necessary parameters of fifth-generation fighter jets. This in itself is a great success and a breakthrough.
However, for full compliance, two more points must be met, such as a powerful engine that will provide high speed and an AESA radar,” he said.
Stressing that it will take specific time and procedures for the new fighter jet to be fully ready, the Russian expert said: “The creation of the Kaan fighter jet is a big job for the future, but it will take 8-12 years to make it ready at full readiness.
It is necessary to carry out a series of flight tests while it will be equipped with missiles. This requires large financial investments and the existence of a robust electronic system,” he said.
“Turkey is a country with big geopolitical goals and the fifth-generation fighter jet is a serious step in the development of its military-industrial complex.
Turkey can particularly benefit from Russia’s experience in creating new warplanes.
On the way to creating new warplanes, Turkey can also benefit from Russia’s experience, especially the Su-57,” the Russian expert said, stressing that this issue had been discussed in detail by Erdogan-Putin at the international air exhibition in Zhukovsky.
“Russia is a useful partner in military-technical cooperation because it respects Turkish colleagues and does not create unnecessary risks.
Despite the use of software on F-16s, Patriots and all sorts of other weapons, the US administration’s endless deceptions even in NATO cooperation shows that the US is not friendly to Turkey at all.”
The bottom line is that behind the scenes there is definitely something going on with the Russians and Chinese about the Turkish KAAN fighter, and this will come out very soon.
