EDITOR’S NOTE: AB Ieronymos of Greece, known for his leftist leanings since his election, continued desperately yesterday his balancing act on the hot issue of the day, the proposed legislation for “same-sex” marriage. He even proposed a referendum on the issue… But government spokesman Mr. Marinakis quickly rejected the idea of a referendum, saying that “referendums cannot solve human rights” issues. The whole country is waiting for the emergency session of the Holy Synod next Tuesday morning… The Holy Synod will discuss sending letters to all 300 members of the Parliament urging them to vote “NO” on the “same-sex” legislation. A significant part of the center and left MPs are known to also say NO: Many of PASOK/KINAL, some of SYRIZA (including Kasselakis’s right-hand Pollakis), four Muslim MPs, 20 MPs of the communist party (KKE)… But the whole battle will be determined within the New Democracy party with its 158 MPs. Many of those are elected in the countryside and are known to be very conservative and very close to the Church… A letter from the Holy Synod would drive many more against the legislation.
But the biggest obstacle to this is pure logic: the problem of same-sex or other LGBTQ unions has been solved since 2015 with the “civil unions” law. Last year there were only 500 civil unions, and I suspect many of them were heterosexual. Why would a society call marriage that traditionally is meant to mean a religious and traditional union?

Same-sex couples: “Yes” in a referendum from Hieronymos – “The Church will not take up arms”
He was asked a relevant question and answered: “A referendum could also be held” – “The silence of days has broken” and now the announcement of the Hierarchy is expected.
The silence of days was finally put to an end today by Archbishop Hieronymos, who, during his presence at the opening ceremony of the 2nd Primary School of Nea Makris, spoke about the issue that monopolizes current affairs of same-sex couples and the bill that the Government is preparing Mitsotakis.
The head of the Church, after a lot of pressure and a lot of background, was forced to call the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy so that her position could be officially known, but until then, he commented, among other things, “how will I live in a family that will have two fathers two moms? How will he wake up in the morning in the house, and what will he see around him? And we accept a newly created society.”
While to a related question put to him, he answered: “A referendum could also be held”, as a continuation of his statement that “in such matters neither the Archbishop nor the Prime Minister himself can take a position, just his will and the his course. In the end, it is the world, our people. If our people want to do this, they will do it – if they don’t want to, no.”
What he said in front of the cameras:
“The hierarchy will meet after two or three days, and there, the opinion of the Church will be heard, officially. In such matters neither the Archbishop can take a position nor the prime minister himself, just his will and his course.
In the end it is the world, our people. If our people want to do that, they will do it – if they don’t want to, they won’t. The flock does not want to go down, it must be informed. To know what we ask for and why we ask for it and who makes us ask for it. This is what the world needs to understand and see what the children who will come will be like.
How will I live in a family with two fathers and two mothers? How will he wake up in the morning in the house and what will he see around him? And we do not reject a newly created society. We see trends in that direction. Does such a society have the right for everyone to pervert it and do with it as they wish? And don’t the rest of us have the right to say we don’t like this thing?

Ομόφυλα ζευγάρια: «Ναι» σε δημοψήφισμα από τον Ιερώνυμο – «Η Εκκλησία δεν θα πάρει τα όπλα»
Τέλος στην αφωνία ημερών έβαλε επιτέλους σήμερα ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Ιερώνυμος, ο οποίος κατά τη διάρκεια της παρουσίας του στην τελετή εγκαινίων του 2ου Δημοτικού Σχολείου Νέας Μάκρης, μίλησε για το ζήτημα που μονοπωλεί την επικαιρότητα, αυτό των ομόφυλων ζευγαριών και του νομοσχεδίου το οποίο ετοιμάζει η Κυβέρνηση Μητσοτάκη.
Ο προκαθήμενος της Εκκλησίας μετά από πολλές πιέσεις και μεγάλο παρασκήνιο, αναγκάστηκε να καλέσει την Ιερά Σύνοδο της Ιεραρχίας ώστε να γίνει κι επίσημα γνωστή η θέση της, αλλά μέχρι τότε, σχολίασε μεταξύ άλλων, «πώς θα ζήσω σε μια οικογένεια που θα έχει δύο μπαμπάδες δύο μαμάδες; Πως θα ξυπνάει το πρωί μέσα στο σπίτι και τι θα βλέπει γύρω του; Και μια κοινωνία που δημιουργείται καινούρια, δεν την απορρίπτουμε».
Ενώ σε σχετική ερώτηση που του έγινε, απάντησε: «Θα μπορούσε να γίνει και ένα δημοψήφισμα», ως συνέχεια της τοποθέτησής του ότι «σε τέτοια θέματα ούτε ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος δεν μπορεί να πάρει θέση ούτε ο πρωθυπουργός ο ίδιος, απλώς τη θέλησή του και την πορεία του. Στο τέλος είναι ο κόσμος, ο λαός μας. Αν ο λαός μας θέλει να κάνει αυτό θα το κάνει – αν δε θέλει, όχι».
- Τα όσα είπε μπροστά στις κάμερες:
«Θα συνέλθει η ιεραρχία μετά από δυο τρεις μέρες και εκεί θα ακουστεί η άποψη της Εκκλησίας, επισήμως. Σε τέτοια θέματα ούτε ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος δεν μπορεί να πάρει θέση ούτε ο πρωθυπουργός ο ίδιος, απλώς τη θέλησή του και την πορεία του.
Στο τέλος είναι ο κόσμος, ο λαός μας. Αν ο λαός μας θέλει να κάνει αυτό θα το κάνει – αν δε θέλει, όχι. Το ποίμνιο δεν θέλει να κατέβει, να ενημερωθεί πρέπει. Για να ξέρουμε τι ζητάμε και γιατί το ζητάμε και ποιος μας βάζει να το ζητάμε. Αυτό πρέπει ο κόσμος να καταλάβει και να δει πως θα είναι τα παιδιά εκείνα που θα ‘ρθουν.
Πως θα ζήσω σε μια οικογένεια που θα έχει δύο μπαμπάδες δύο μαμάδες; Πως θα ξυπνάει το πρωί μέσα στο σπίτι και τι θα βλέπει γύρω του; Και μια κοινωνία που δημιουργείται καινούρια, δεν την απορρίπτουμε. Βλέπουμε τάσεις προς τα εκεί. Μια τέτοια κοινωνία έχει το δικαίωμα ο καθένας να τη διαστρέφει και να την κάνει όπως θέλει; Και οι άλλοι δεν έχουμε δικαίωμα να πούμε ότι δεν μας αρέσει αυτό το πράγμα;
(…) Είναι θέμα της κοινωνίας η εκκλησία δεν θα πάρει τα όπλα, να κάνει ο,τιδήποτε. Αλλά έχει καθήκον να ενημερώσει τον κόσμο. Και ο κάθε ένας από εμάς δεν πρέπει σε τέτοια θέματα μεγάλα να σκέπτεται τι θα πει δεξιά, τι θα πει αριστερά, τι θα πει κεντρώα παράταξη.
Σκέφτεται ποια κοινωνία θέλουμε και ποια οικογένεια».
Ὁ Ἐπικεφαλῆς τῆς ἐπισήμου Ἐκκλησίας τῆς Ἑλλάδος ἐδήλωσε : Νὰ γίνη δημοψήφισμα καὶ ὅτι ἀποφασίσει ὁ Ἑλληνικὸς Λαός, ἐμεῖς θὰ τὸ δεχθοῦμε!!!
Βαρυσήμαντος δήλωση πολλῶν μεγατόνων!!! Μέχρι σήμερα πιστεύαμε ὅτι ἡ Ἐκκλησία ἐκήρυτε στὸν Λαὸ τὸ μήνυμα τοῦ Εὐαγγελίου. Ἀπὸ σήμερα ὁ Λαὸς θὰ ἀποφασίζη πλέον τὶ πρέπει νὰ πιστεύουμε. Τελείωσαν τὰ ψέματα!!! Βρέθηκε, κατὰ τὸν ἐκπρόσωπο τοῦ Χριστοῦ στὴν Γῆ, ἡ λύση ὅλων τῶν προβλημάτων ποὺ μᾶς ταλαιπωρούσαν γιὰ αἰῶνες τώρα. Θὰ γράψουμε καινούργιο εὐαγγέλιο, σύμφωνα μὲ τὰ δημοψηφίσματα τοῦ Λαοῦ, γιὰ κάθε πρόβλημα ποὺ ἀντιμετωπίζουμε καὶ «θὰ περνᾶμε ὅλοι μᾶς καλὰ».
Καὶ «πρὶν ἀλέκτωρ φωνήσει», ὁ νέος θεὸς τῆς Ἑλλάδος, ὁ ἐκπρόσωπος τῆς Ἑλληνικῆς Κυβέρνησης Παῦλος Μαρινάκης διεκήρυξε : «Δὲν εἶναι ἁμάρτημα ἡ Ὁμοφυλοφιλία!!!» Ὅτι ξέρατε μέχρι σήμερα νὰ τὰ ξεχάσετε. Ἀπὸ σήμερα ἔχουμε νέο θεὸ καὶ νέο εὐαγγέλιο.
Unfortunately, Ieronymos proves he is a “luke-warm” embarrassment…a “tool” of the system, a “plant” serving “other masters”, for known reasons.
He mentioned a referendum in an abstract manner, but he stopped short of actively collecting signatures the way that Archbishop Christodoulos did. Why?
If the Synod does not take REAL action, including calling for its own collection of signatures across the country, then the people should perform a long-term protest in every Metropolis building in Greece, until each Metropolitan begins collecting signatures. What we are witnessing today is the classic definition of tyrrany and facsism…Imposition by a central government of dogmas that are against the will of the majority of the people. Ieronymos is complicit in this crime, because he has been delaying the Synod’s “response” until it is too late, and he has preferred to host Kasselakis with “open arms” instead of saying what a hierach needs to say about someone who is actively promoting sins “pride” (υπερηφανεια). Much has already been written on this topic, too…
Floods in Thessaly were not enough to call people and clergy to repentance…God might send volcanos and meteorites next, like the fire and brimstone in Sodom and Gomorrah.

Α-Ν-Α-Ξ-Ι-Ο-Σ: ΑΜΕΣΗ ΚΑΘΑΙΡΕΣΗ! There is NO provision for popular referendum to substitute The Holy Scriptures, Holy Canons and Holy Tradition. Unfortunately the Crusaders are back in vengeance… Remember the goal of the Crusaders was to destroy Christianity… This is worse than the Ottoman Occupation… The Ottomans brutal and genocidal as they were they didn’t tamper with our Faith… We need to get rid of the servile, treasonous oligarchical tyrrany both on the Civil and the Church level.
We know very well that “referenda (plural for referendum)” HAVE NOT BEEN RESPECTED in the Modern State of Greece… So? what’s the point of it? Popular Referenda cannot substitute the Holy Synods nor the Ecumenical Synods…
The outcry against same-sex marriage puzzles me sometimes, when, in fact, it involves a much smaller percentage of people than the large percentage of heterosexuals living together before marriage and having children. Where is the outcry regarding the bigger issue? Many of the priests in Greece now testify that new “norm” is for a couple to have a child, then to come to the church for their wedding and the baptism of their child on the same day. I just don’t get it. I hear no outcry over this prevalent practice; yet, when when homosexuals are involved, somehow they are destroying the fabric of “marriage.”
Apparently you are trying to confuse the issue – because this is who you are: A TROLL. You are using your warped “logic” to bring up a point that supposedly justifies the perverted politicians and clerics that you support. Yes, heterosexual marriages occasionally have problems and psychologists and judges and lawyers deal with these problems. But this has NOTHING to do with the matter of principle we are dealing with here. NOT ONLY THE BIBLE BUT THE GREEK CONSITUTION ALSO RECOGNIZE MARRIAGE ONLY BETWEEN A MAN AND THE WOMAN. For the homosexual couples and the non-believers there are civil unions which solve all legal (inheritance etc) problems between them. The fact that those PERVERTED and CORRUPT friends of yours, politicians and clerics, insist to promote perversion as marriage is evidence of their corruption and pervertion. There only goal by insisting on this legislation is to destroy the Greek family value system by allowing adoption to all perverts.
Technically speaking, the Synod of Greece issued an encyclical against this practice of “marriage/baptism”several years back. So officially on paper, it’s not allowed anymore…whether or not that is being enforced strictly, is a separate discussion.
