Let’s start the demolition of President Trump’s false assessment that “Iran’s key nuclear facilities were obliterated”. IAEA announced today that any damage was superficial. Here is a summary of what IAEA’s chief, Rafael Grossi, said:
No widespread radioactive fallout outside the sites—radiation levels remain normal.
Internal contamination at Natanz and Esfahan is present, but risks are manageable with standard safety gear; the hazard is primarily chemical in nature.
Fordow facility intact, with no observable damage.
Bushehr power plant, still operational, remains a critical concern if targeted in the future.
On the last site of Busher, let me remind everyone that it is protected by Russian S-400 missiles and operated with the help of 250 Russian personnel. These facts prohibit any attack on this site. Not only that, but this site opens the door for Iran to protect and expand its nuclear program and give Russia the upper hand in any future negotiations: President Putin last week specifically warned both Trump and Netanyahu not to attack Busher. Many decisions will be made tomorrow when the Iranian Foreign Minister visits Moscow.
It seems very likely that Iran has removed the basic parts of the three facilities housed in other locations, and now it has the option to finish its nuclear enrichment if it chooses so. But will Iran go ahead to build a nuclear bomb? I think this is unlikely because it has too many other options. Iran’s more likely option is to keep attacking Israel in a war of attrition, where it is winning. As the Wall Street Journal reported yesterday, Israel is running low on missiles in operating its Iron Dome. And Iran has started using very sophisticated hypersonic missiles against which there is no defense. But it has many other options:
- Measured Military Retaliation: Iran could launch missile or drone strikes against U.S. bases or allies in the region—likely through its proxies like Hezbollah or Iraqi militias. This would aim to preserve deterrence without triggering all-out war.
- Covert Cyber attacks: Iran’s cyber forces may strike U.S. infrastructure—power grids, ports, or banks—offering plausible deniability. Covert sabotage operations across the Middle East are also being considered.
- Disrupt the Straits of Hormuz. By threatening oil shipping lanes, Iran can raise global economic pressure and signal that escalation won’t come cheaply for the West. Iran could do this selectively, allowing oil flows only to friendly countries like China.
- Accelerate the nuclear program, as mentioned above. Tehran could resume high-level uranium enrichment or even withdraw from the NPT, using its nuclear program as both retaliation and leverage.
- Turn to diplomacy, where the US and Israel have violated any UN and international law on the books. Iran may double down on diplomacy—especially with Europe—to isolate the U.S. politically, delay sanctions, and portray itself as the aggrieved party.
- Iran’s home front is, so far, unified. Iran is self-sufficient in terms of energy and food, and this makes the fall of the regime a Western pipe dream, as it has been for decades. Iran’s leadership will try to unite public opinion by framing the attack as proof of Western aggression—and itself as a resilient, sovereign power.
In the face of the above facts, the only “sure” option remaining for Israel and the US is to nuke Iran. Unfortunately for them, this is not an option. Trump cannot do it “Harry Truman style”, and any use of “tactical nukes” will open “Pandora’s box” in the Middle East and globally. But again, the lunatic globalists “leading” (Netanyahu is nutcase #1) could eventually pick the “Sampson’s option”.
The Immense Domestic Effect of Bombing Iran
Yesterday’s U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear facilities under Donald Trump has sparked outrage for violating both U.S. and international law. Domestically, Trump bypassed Congress, violating the War Powers Resolution and overstepping presidential authority. Internationally, the attack breached the UN Charter (by using force without self-defense or UN approval), violated the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (targeting civilian-use nuclear sites), and disrespected Iran’s sovereignty. Legal experts and global leaders have condemned the move as unlawful and destabilizing. In short, it has rendered Trump’s presidency untrustworthy internationally, and it has undermined its domestic support.
- The overwhelming majority of the American people are against the “endless war” – especially those ordered by a foreign government, Israel.
- MAGA’s support has eroded very fast, especially after influential leaders like Tucker Carlson, Steve Bannon, and many others have publicly expressed their total disagreement. This rift is irreparable. Staunch Trump supporters are sending emails to Trump’s political office, asking for their money back!!
- More than losing MAGA support, Trump buried with his own hands the hopes of restoring democracy. Instead, many, not only in America but in Europe and elsewhere, will decide to avoid the democratic process altogether.
- How many of these disgruntled citizens will turn to terrorism? We cannot underestimate this possibility… God knows how many doctoral dissertations have been written on the effects of widespread “powerlessness”… The feelings of disempowerment will be disruptive and will lead much faster to the loss of American hegemony globally. No regime can sustain itself without public support: America will turn fast into the Soviet Union of the 1990s.
- It was obvious to all of us that the neocons and the warmongers were blackmailing Trump. Their most obvious blackmail was holding hostage the BBB (“Big Beautiful Bill”) in the Senate. The fact, OBVIOUS TO ALL THE AMERICANS NOW, that the Israeli lobby and the neocons of the “War Party” are in control in Washington, PUT A MISERABLE END TO “DRAINING THE SWAMP”. There will be no more pretense of “Democracy” to sell to anyone anymore.
- Good luck to all of us!… We pray that the world avoids a nuclear disaster – because there is nothing else for the failed Western leadership to do to show their power… Insane people like Netanyahu will not hesitate much to take the “Sampson’s option” – since their conventional weapons cannot compete, not even with the Houthis anymore…
- Is there a “rosy scenario”? It is best described by Jim Yatras in a tweet: 1. Iran has had enough. 2. Iran doesn’t want to get nuked. 3. Behind the scenes deal: A. US delivers token strikes against nuke facilities, falsely claims for destruction; Israel stops attacks. No further attempt for regime decapitation. B Iran screams. Such an approach was also supported by a CBS report that Trump, behind the scenes, assured Iran for no more attacks (link here).

I for one have no interest in voting again. A sham system where the ambitious program of an outsider who won the Presidency can be overturned by unelected ideologues and fanatics who are intent on starting one war after the other.
The President is like the King of England. He has a symbolic and ceremonial role. Others are the ones who make the decisions.
It is not about Trump. Every American President, except Kennedy and perhaps Carter, would have done the same. They were all elected with the support of the Jewish lobby and the money that they got from it. Actually, I think some recent presidents were preselected by the Jewish lobby, they were the chosen ones for the job! The US presidency is no longer a job that has to do with the interest of the US! It has to do more with Israel’s interest…
I am glad I’m not the only one seeing a grand chess game being played out. By offering your readers alternative but significant details you are on the right track Helleniscope. Jim Yatras is right. At least I hope he is. The US is undermining Israel and restoring balance… committing itself to a multipolar world. The fact that Tulsi Gabbard – an outspoken supporter for global reconciliation and peace and restraining the aggressive neo cons who have brought the world to near extinction – was not in the situation room seems like a highly crafted scenario of deflecting the truth which is that Trump remains committed to “no wars but deals”. At least we hope this is true.

The title of your article says it all. Unfortunately, is a reality not many people could vision was coming. And it came fast, very fast. Not only our president didn’t stop the wars in Ukraine and Gaza ( has said many times “I can stop them before I become president”!), but he got us involved in a new one, possibly the most dangerous of all.
It seems we didn’t learn from our disastrous invasion of Iraq to “destroy the nonexistent weapons of mass distraction” ( maybe some riffles from the WW2 era were found!). We all know the results from that invasion for the US, the Iraqi people and the entire region. The invasion of Afghanistan was another one. Just think of the exodus of the US personnel ( military and non military). Some never made it out in time!
Now it seems the third disaster is about to unfold

I agree with Jim Jatras’s assessment. To which I add a few other observations:
1. The Turks have been awfully quiet as well as the Gulf Arabs. Is it because they don’t mind Iran’s nuclear program being derailed for a few years? We can’t discount that.
2. While it is true that the Zionist lobby has a stranglehold on DC, it is also likely that Trump has “played” them (and Bibi). If nothing else, the fault lines in America vis-a-vis the Israeli lobby are fully exposed and are causing fractures in the American body politic.
3. Christian Zionism is now on its last legs, thanks to Tucker Carlson’s epic takedown of Sen Ted Cruz. That heresy is the backbone of the entire Israel-First movement. If we are to regain control of our county, this blasphemous doctrine has to be rooted out lock, stock and barrel.
It is probable that we are seeing the erosion of the Israel/Zionist lobby continue its inexorable decline. The bad news of course is that Netanyahu is a cornered rat and it is possible that we will see a false flag take place in order to drag us into another Middle East forever war.
