EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis).  My advice to Yiannis is very simple: Watch your pockets when the “Gang of thieves of GOARCH” approaches you… Elpidoktonos and Apostolos recently started appearing in baseball but they plan to continue the “theater” of their “Americanization” with basketball.  When they approach you for money, watch your back pockets.  IF you decide to donate, please force them to change their rules and their practices, treating the “Philoptochos” as their “fill holes” budget.  Philoptochos should be giving exclusively to the needy and NOT to the Phanar wolves.

Miami: Saint Sophia Cathedral Welcomes Giannis Antetokounmpo

June 27, 9:13 PM

With a warm message and the blessings of the Church, the Greek Orthodox community is welcoming the “Greek Freak” to his new home and his new team.

The Greek Orthodox community of Miami has given an especially warm and heartfelt welcome to Greece’s star basketball player, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

According to an official graphic released by the Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Miami, the local church and the Greek-American community are standing behind the athlete as he begins this new chapter with the Miami Heat.

The parish’s message reads:

  1. I laughed real heartily at the suggestion to Giannis by Nick.
I wonder if anyone knows what faith Giannis is following. Is he Greek Orthodox? Whatever he is, he has more faith than all the archdiocese put together. Did you see him, his mom and brother, serve at a soup kitchen in Athens? He doesnt need to do that. Have anyone seen any of the bishops or Elpidoktonos do anything that promotes Christianity instead of themselves? Has anyone seen anyone visit the sick, the once in jail, the homeless, the migrants? If he had, the Orthodox Observer would have had it front and center. We’ve all seen them baptize wealthy gays’ children, marry a wealthy couple in Panama, go out of his way the last time he was in the Phanar, to baptize a baby of a rich couple in Athens, never answer a poor mom’s plea for help after St Basil’s wanted to throw them out.

I dont know about you guys, but Giannis represents us better than the atheist clergy. Let’s have him lead the Greek-American delegation to the White House next March 25th.
